Navysaint Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 I couldn't have put it better myself. On a different note does Doncaster win the picture of the train back??
graymalkin33 Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Great letter. Wont do any good though. But it cant hurt can it. Oh and the guy up there who wrote to Wilde n got a reply from Lowe - thats just shocking.. Jeeez
gonzo Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Good letter, sums up the situation perfectly. Well said, beatlesaint.
VectisSaint Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 I couldn't have put it better myself. On a different note does Doncaster win the picture of the train back?? No, they have been presented with a picture of Rupert Lowe to inspire them and ensure they never go down the same path as us. I hear they have installed it in their outside loo.
SaintRobbie Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Yes I know, it's not the content that's the issue, but by making a thread "sticky", it often implies it as "official" or "having the backing" of the forum admins/mods/saintsweb. It was merely put there as a reminder, not really to our members, but to those who don't regularly read the forum who might think that this is the forum/saintsweb official line. It bloody well should be. How about a poll?
trousers Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 (edited) ... Edited 20 January, 2009 by trousers perhaps not
Channon's Sideburns Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 To be honest, after today's crock of sh1te, Wilde also needs to add WHY we are persisting with Poortvliet to his list. Come on Mike, tell us why he is the best man for the job....
beatlesaint Posted 20 January, 2009 Author Posted 20 January, 2009 Have you got a response yet ?! No.
Rory Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 I'm not sure why there's so much bitterness towards Rupert Lowe. If you see this article from 5 years ago, you'll see that we are at team on the up under Lowe: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/1947017.stm What's everyone's problem?

Hmmmm... 'I wouldn't say it was a mistake appointing Stuart Gray' ??????????!!!???????? Course not, because who decided who was appointed after it's gone wrong??? The Board. When things go right, it's never the 'board's decision' then is it? BTW The 'up' stopped when Rupert denied Strachan the opportunity to sign better players like Malbranque and Saha.
Shrivvy Saint Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 A spot-on letter. I felt like this after supporting the club for 35 years and being an ST holder for much of that time, at the end of the 06/07 season. Despite reaching the play-offs I just knew that it was just downhill from that point and have not stepped into the ground since.

I cannot believe that you do not understand that Lowe was the cause of todays problems, appointing crap managers, cheap options, poor player signings and letting all our good players go
Weston Super Saint Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 I cannot believe that you do not understand that Lowe was the cause of todays problems, appointing crap managers, cheap options, poor player signings and letting all our good players go I think a whooosshhhh is in order, as I doubt Rory was being serious with his article from FIVE years ago

Blandford saint Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Great letter. I will be writing my own letter to Wilde in my own words but with similar sentiments. The more of us that make the effort the better.
saintdownunder Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 The letter from Beatlesaint obviously come`s from the heart and is way to on-oust for a man of Wilde character to absorb and act upon. He can`t say he wasn`t aware of the true feelings of the fans towards the current board and especially the chairman`s roll in our current plight.
Weston Super Saint Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 Did he reply yet? We know he must have been in the office and working late tonight, because he put out a press release
Channon's Sideburns Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 Mr Wilde, You must have no self respect or business acumen. Good night, sleep well you two-faced property developer (how's it going??) Are you coming with us next Saturday, I'll buy you a pint. CS

beatlesaint Posted 24 January, 2009 Author Posted 24 January, 2009 Still no reply..................I wont be holding my breath.
The Old Codger Posted 24 January, 2009 Posted 24 January, 2009 I personally think Rupert Lowe is doing the right thing. Mike Wilde for all his Scouser traits seems to be fully behind the way the club is going. We are only a few points off the pay off positions, so we should all be patient. As for this pathetic march next week - who really cares about the lunatic fringe? I'll be inside The Kingsland with my thermos flask, and chocolate hobnobs watching the team warm up. I will cheer them on from under the tartan blanket whatever - they are just a bunch of kids doing their best and we need to get behind them. My season ticket money is guaranteed Mr Lowe for next season - keep the faith in your Dutch experiment - personally I'm lovin' it! We're The Kingsland over here!

pheonix Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 I think that someone needs to write to Crouch as well, and plead with him to do something. I know that he would give up so much to do it, maybe a combination of letters to Wilde and Crouch to see if that would do any good. I was utterly appalled when I heard about Saturdays violence, and something needs to be done and soon. Leon Knows he has to do something!
