I agree with most of that. However, the fact remains that three years ago Lowe did use a PR firm to post on this forum's predecessor. At that time it hit the national press, and was admitted (and played down for all they were worth) by officials of the club. Personally, I don't think it's likely to happen again now, as it would be so much more difficult to do. Plus, of course, it didn't work last time anyway.

The single worst result of that whole farrago is the suspicion it engendered - an effect that's still being felt three years on. The very fact that this thread has been started at all bears gloomy testimony to that.

Thanks for commenting on my post, unfortunately I don't feel able to afford you the same courtesy as I suspect you may be a PR plant...!!! ;)

And this comes from someone who posts under a pseudonym? lol

Not sure why that was a lol, because that was my point. Isn't Daren W a pseudonym? I'm good at guessing, but there are many 'W' names you could be called!

Ok, once again, this is the board of this football club playing silly buggers on an internet messageboard.

No, it's a poster saying watch out for it happening, not that it is happening. Who is spinning now?

Does that not strike you as behaviour unbecoming of a football chairman/director????

Yes.

So Keith Legg gave Wilde a favourable ride on an internet forum, do you not find it unbelievably childish that Wilde went on to post under another name praising himself???

Yes (although 'favourable ride' is a bit like describing Dale Winton as ever so slightly camp). I don't remember the Wilde incident but don't doubt it happened.

Do you not find it unbelievably childish that Lowe can't face matters face on and had to rely on PR firms posting fake rubbish masquerading as real fans on an internet forum?

I think the one thing you can't accuse Lowe of not facing up, there are numerous occasions where he has taken abuse in public/semi-public gatherings. Whatever you think about the man, he's got a brass neck. Personally I see the original debacle as a reaction to what was a master stroke of PR by Wilde. One that backfired on Lowe big time (another reason why I don't think he'd risk it again.

I think you ought to wake up and take a long, serious look at the people who run this club and the way they behave... Accept that if you will...

I am not asleep. I'd happily replace Lowe with someone better, but at the moment, given our financial plight, I doubt much (other than the name and the dodgy jacket) would change.

My opinion is build it and they will come, just don't dynamite the old building before the plans are in place for the new one. Otherwise you're no better than Bush in Eye-raq.

Quote: But remember that he (Lowe) still has his supporters who regularly post on here and will by doing so continue to perpetuate the division between the fans.

It's comments like this that make me a) despair for the future of this club & b) want to say something nice about Rupert

My name is Leslie Charteris and I write fiction for a living. That makes me perfect for this forum, even though I've been dead for years.

Now I understand why your postings are rubbish

as a new poster could I clear myself of any pr-spin-suspicion by pointing out that I think Rupert has dragged the club to its knees.

Twice.

But on a positive note, I became so annoyed with the situation that I eventually registered on here on Friday to let off some steam.

Within a few hours we had a managerial change and the next day Dyer ended Pompey's glorious little era, so I feel that joining the debate has been most helpful.

I feel better already, three points tomorrow, and we are on our way...
