Mole Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Lowe's PR firm could well be sent to post on here again soon.
Saint Billy Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 I think they will be found out and despatched quickly considering the mood on here at the moment.
Snowballs2 Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Lowe's PR firm could well be sent to post on here again soon. I think we all realise that this will happen sooner or later. But remember that he still has his supporters who regularly post on here and will by doing so continue to perpetuate the division betwwen the fans. They are the most dangerous as far as our future is concerned.
sunrise Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 I'm not worried about new posters who try to argue in favour of the dark lord, they may as well urinate in to the wind. The vast majority of us fans know that we are going down under the current regime and we need to take a stand and unite against the parasites that our killing our club. To echo the infamous message against Branfoot, Lowe and Wilde - hope you die soon. Lowe out Wilde out Askham out Richards out Portaloo out
SaintRobbie Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Note to casual readers: Some readers may think this thread is daft, but to explain, Lowe's PR firm was caught red-handed posting pro-Lowe material on the previous forum to this one the last time Lowe was shown to be a failure.
dubai_phil Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Relax. PR firms don't answer their phones on a Sunday.. Won't see any until mid morning tomorrow assuming Lowe isn't up to his ankles baiting hooks in Scotland.....
Ponty Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Can I take this opportunity to remind posters that abuse of new members will not be tolerated under the "they are PR plants" banner. If you feel that such a situation genuinely exists please contact an admin directly or use the Report Post function. I'd hate for a long-term poster to receive an infraction, or even a ban, just from responding to what they believe is a wind-up or PR post. Many thanks.
Mr X Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Can i remind everyone that Lowe is the best thing to have ever happened to the club the guy is a both a football and business genius and has my utmost respect, anyone who can introduce catering of such quality deserves to be at the club for many years to come

I thought the radio station was the best thing since sliced bread.

AwaySaint1 Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 (edited) Without Lowe we would have no SFC now. He is doing the best of a bad job. He never gambled the kitty on a promotion push. He came back to save the club not bury it. What do people think he should do? hand the club over to a couple of Celtic,Everton and Fulham parasites like others did? At least he has the balls to continue to do what he thinks is best for the club in the long term. He new full well what sort of comments he would get when he returned,he new that he would be hated by the fans but he still has the balls to continue. Lets see who walks away from sfc first, the fans or him. Edited 18 January, 2009 by AwaySaint1
1965onwards Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 (edited) It would seem that 5-8000 fans have already walked away. Good bit of busines acumen there then. Any fool can shrink a busines through drastic cost-cutting,a chimpanze could do it. Crouch could and would have cost-cut far more intelligently. Edited 18 January, 2009 by 1965onwards

WealdSaint Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Its hard to think how anybody could put a positive spin on the record of the current board. Even the "we inherited a financial mess" wears a bit thin when the conclusion of most people is "so they changed the manager, cut costs............and made the mess even worse"!!
Daren W Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Lowe's PR firm could well be sent to post on here again soon. I think it's important to bring this up again. We've had so many of the pro Lowe camp ridiculing those posters who question the validity of some on here as possible plants. It's all too easy to mock but we tend to forget that both Wilde and lowe have either posted on here themselves pretending to be someone else and praising themselves or hiring PR companies to do the same. It's unbelievable that the people who run this club can behave in such a childish, immature way... The pro Lowe camp would do well to remember that...

With the exception of perhaps Richard Chorley, most people on here hide behind a pseudonym. I personally thing the PR plant paranoia is exactly that. Sure Lowe did try to pull a fast one back in ABL1, but that was in response to the tremendous amount of PR Keith Legg was giving Wilde (at least Lowe had the decency to pay for it ). The fact is that views on this board and in the fan base as a whole are so entrenched that no amount of posting is going to win over hearts and minds, the only thing that will do that is results (and even that is questionable for some). Lowe hasn't got the money to by triple ply bog roll for the boardroom toilet, he hasn't got the money to pay PR monkeys to spout guff for little end. The fact is people disagree. I happen to think Lowe is the only option we have to sort out the mess we're in (regardless of whose fault it is). That doesn't make me a plant, it just means I've got a different opinion to you. Accept it.
manji Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Lowe's PR firm could well be sent to post on here again soon. Youre enjoying yourself at the moment arent you ?
Dalek2003 Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Whatever PR teams do, they cannot change history if people remember the facts. The danger is when people are selective in their use of the facts or try and erase facts from history. These posts are opinion and by their very nature biased on both sides.
so22saint Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 What annoys me is that, given the finances of the club, surely the 5k a month PR retainer could have been punted toward Pearson or some better players. It's not much, but many a mickle...
Mole Posted 18 January, 2009 Author Posted 18 January, 2009 Youre enjoying yourself at the moment arent you ? Let's just say the Lowe out protests are something i've been expecting and i'm pleased about them. How do you feel about them Phil?

Mole Posted 18 January, 2009 Author Posted 18 January, 2009 You must have hated it when we won last weekend. I was at the game and rushed to the front to cheer the players off the pitch at the end. Next question.

Accept it. And this comes from someone who posts under a pseudonym? lol Ok, once again, this is the board of this football club playing silly buggers on an internet messageboard. Does that not strike you as behaviour unbecoming of a football chairman/director???? So Keith Legg gave Wilde a favourable ride on an internet forum, do you not find it unbelievably childish that Wilde went on to post under another name praising himself??? Do you not find it unbelievably childish that Lowe can't face matters face on and had to rely on PR firms posting fake rubbish masquerading as real fans on an internet forum? I think you ought to wake up and take a long, serious look at the people who run this club and the way they behave... Accept that if you will...

solentstars Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 You must have hated it when we won last weekend. i think we all know the posters on here who rub their hands with glee whenever we lose and are proud of it.
Snowballs2 Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 i think we all know the posters on here who rub their hands with glee whenever we lose and are proud of it. Well they have had a hell of a lot of hand rubbing to do this season. It is not about seeing Saints lose, its about who is screwing up or club, that was here eons before Wilde and Lowe, and, god willing will still be here for eons after they have gone. This does not mean that we should sit on our hands and do nothing about those who are currently in positions of responsibility...and failing in their task!
Saint Billy Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 i think we all know the posters on here who rub their hands with glee whenever we lose and are proud of it. Grow up! No saints fan wants to see saints lose, but because we are losing on a regular basis means that the only tit bit of positive you can take out losing is if it forces change within our club for the better.
dubai_phil Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Grow up! No saints fan wants to see saints lose, but because we are losing on a regular basis means that the only tit bit of positive you can take out losing is if it forces change within our club for the better. Some posted that way before mind.... But no, no real Saints fan wants that. We just want the whole bloody mess gone and just go back to being a normal punching above our weight football club
SaintRobbie Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 May I ask how they were caught? There was a check done on the IP address that showed they came from Lowe's PR firm.
Rebel Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Wilde's PR people were doing exactly the same thing at the same time!
SaintRobbie Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Wilde's PR people were doing exactly the same thing at the same time! Not sure Wilde needed to at the time. To be honest, I dont think thats correct. As a mod at the time, Steve Grant will be able to tell you how the IP address was traced back to the PR company.
Micky Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 (edited) A PR plant. Right so that would be a professional Publics Relation company paid to come on here and do what exactly. Try to brainwash us all into thinking that the club is running smoothly, nothing to worry about and everything is going to plan. How on earth is a PR plant going to make any real difference to the thoughts of some 150 - 200 staunch supporters who frequent a message forum. We all have our individual opinions about what is happening at SMS these days and anybody who is swayed from that by some PR body must surely be lacking in intelligence. I have no doubt that perhaps club people will check this forum out, perhaps on occassion even post, but lets be honest - no PR plant is going to come here and brainwash us that there is no problem at SMS. PR plants - or whatever you want to call them - bring them on. Edited 18 January, 2009 by Micky
saintwarwick Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Lowe's PR firm could well be sent to post on here again soon. Or they could be new posters who do not agree with your agenda. Remember new posters are like babies, new ones arrive every day.
SaintRobbie Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 To be honest I dont think we'd see this sort of tactic being used again. Stanley was just making a point about the nature of the man we're dealing with.
solentstars Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Grow up! saint_stevo Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 i would PM them abuse and then attack them violently
Ponty Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 Like I alluded to, and has been mentioned in the thread regarding the last instance of PR firms signing up, we'll check out any new suspicious posters if they're brought to our attention. I really don't want to see vitriolic accusations flying against any new posters who happen to have a different point of view to some of the more vocal on here. It could end up with people being 'punished' for trying to do the right thing.
alehouseboys Posted 18 January, 2009 Posted 18 January, 2009 ...maybe they'll just pay 'sundunce' a little more to try a little harder...

PR plants - or whatever you want to call them - bring them on. I agree with most of that. However, the fact remains that three years ago Lowe did use a PR firm to post on this forum's predecessor. At that time it hit the national press, and was admitted (and played down for all they were worth) by officials of the club. Personally, I don't think it's likely to happen again now, as it would be so much more difficult to do. Plus, of course, it didn't work last time anyway. The single worst result of that whole farrago is the suspicion it engendered - an effect that's still being felt three years on. The very fact that this thread has been started at all bears gloomy testimony to that.
