tajjuk Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 BBC seems to be saying Ings has recovered with Austin and Long as doubts. Stats are not looking good, we don't win back to back games, we barely win at home, we have never won on Mondays, they are terrible away from home and Murray likes to score against us.
sandwichsaint Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Well that can f*ck right off. Jesus christ we've become the cliche for a modern football, americanised club since reaching the premier league haven't we? Clappers, that dog with the drum and now this. Part of me is genuinely disappointed we didn't get relegated to get some soul back. Presumably it's all part of being on MNF? a Sky give us loads of money on condition we put on a firework show 2 or 3 times a year? b Sky gives us loads of money on the condition we spend a minuscule part of it on a fireworks show 2 or 3 times a season? All part and parcel of the modern world but ultimately you do have a choice, I'm sure Eastleigh would be very glad of your money. I've been to one game in the last two seasons and don't really miss it at all.

Might be a choice for you but it's not for me, i was born/grew up within a mile of the Dell and less than that of St Mary's, there is no other team than Saints for me. If (and i can see this happening at some point) i give up on the whole corrupt, sanitised, ruined shell of a game, then i give up completely, as football for me is an extension of the pride in my city, history, family and place of birth, and none of that is true of Eastleigh (or sholing for that matter).

Its nothing earth shatteringly new !
Cabbage_Face Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 (edited) People moaning about Fireworks. Utter mongs. Just don't go too the pre-show and go for the football, throw the clappers on the floor and eat your ****e pie and be miserable for eternity. #Mess Edited 17 September, 2018 by Cabbage_Face
VectisSaint Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 we have never won on Mondays? really? cripes MLG will be along shortly to tell you it's irrelevant. :-)
Cabbage_Face Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 MLG will be along shortly to tell you it's irrelevant. :-) and tell you we once won a training match on a Monday in 1945.
benjii Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 its only a few fireworks ffs - the first season of MNF they did it, i distinctly remember fireworks at the Dell against Man Utd I believe. Its nothing earth shatteringly new ! And they had bands and girls and stuff.
Ekelund24 Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 we have never won on Mondays? really? cripes We won twice on Mondays in the 2002/03 season both 1-0 and both away
tajjuk Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 we have never won on Mondays? really? cripes In the PL, according to the BBC yeh - "In addition, Monday nights have not been a good omen in the past - Southampton have never won a Premier League game at St Mary's on such an occasion."
fez Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 We won twice on Mondays in the 2002/03 season both 1-0 and both away Was that the season we beat WHam 1-0 at Upton Park after our coach was so delayed by traffic that we barely made the kick-off? I haven't checked but I remember Beattie scored late after a brilliant cross from Brett O But perhaps we've never won at home on a Monday night
Micky Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 If you take your seat 5 mins before kick off (like loads of people actually already do anyway) you'll have missed all those horrible bangy, lighty, flyy, fireworks and lights. Problem solved.
DT Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 no truth in the rumour ex-Saint Nicky Banger will be setting off the fireworks *gets coat*
beatlesaint Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 And they had bands and girls and stuff. yep and there were/are no 13 year old virgins being burned at the stake
Pamplemousse Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Is it too much to ask for a solid win tonight? 2-0 or something like that, no dramas, just a professional performance from start to finish. Pretty please
whelk Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 MLG will be along shortly to tell you it's irrelevant. :-) Or that it is bs which clearly is
John Boy Saint Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Surely you will be getting the best view of the fireworks from outside the ground if you are not in the front 10 rows.
Ekelund24 Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Was that the season we beat WHam 1-0 at Upton Park after our coach was so delayed by traffic that we barely made the kick-off? I haven't checked but I remember Beattie scored late after a brilliant cross from Brett O But perhaps we've never won at home on a Monday night Yeah, and I think the team trained at Rod Stewart's house!! Beattie did score that night and I think Rory Delap dislocated his finger in the celebration, unfortunately he didn't miss a game!!!
Cabbage_Face Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 I think Rory Delap dislocated his finger in the celebration, unfortunately he didn't miss a game!!! Wouldve affected his only attribute thou, 4 million pound throw in machine.
Fan The Flames Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Wouldve affected his only attribute thou, 4 million pound throw in machine. Liverpool now have a throw in coach, Delap was obviously ahead of his time.
saints-cris Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Really the kind of games we should be winning. Brighton are a good side, very organised but just think we should be targeting home games like this as good ways of getting wins, in the same way they would be in vise-versa. Two wins on the trot would be so refreshing, it’s criminal it’s been about 18 months when we last did so. Also it’s my birthday today and I’d quite like to win this to make it even sweeter.
warsash saint Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Bring back the bands at half time for Monday night football Didn't Curiosity Kill the Cat / EMF play at the Dell in Sky's first season? & remember some local band winding up Leeds fans

fez Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Gorgeous weather for this evening. Clear with a south-easterly breeze.
Saint-Fred Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 I would predict a 3-1 home win...Brighton aren't great on the road and an early goal would ensure a comfortable victory I think. We aren't great at home but there are 3 or 4 games I would really fancy us winning at home this season and Brighton is one of them.
vectraman Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 2-0 saints tonight. I’m looking forward to it. Games under the lights are always somehow more special, more of an occasion. It’s what makes live football so Much better (to me) than watching it on TV. Come on Saints, two wins on the trot !!
egg Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Feeling confident about tonight. Reckon we'll come out of the blocks quickly and mix it up a bit. 2 - 0 Saints - Lemina and Redmond to have stormers.
Heisenberg Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Backin us (£’s) from the off tonight, first time for a longtime. Its the hope that kills us
Pamplemousse Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Backin us (£’s) from the off tonight, first time for a longtime. Its the hope that kills us How's the golf?
Shroppie Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Just wonder if Long and Austin are both out whether MH will surprise us with three at the back. Let wing backs press up and Redmond, Elyounoussi play more centrally. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Shroppie Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 He will play. Please no Hoedt Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
davefizzy14 Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Hoping it will be the same team as vs Palace. Keep a winning formula If Long is injured then Gabbi to come in. 2-0 to us Ings and Lemina COYR
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Please no Hoedt Please no moaning before a ball is kicked
Saint Matty 76 Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Hearing that Pascal Groß is out. If true we've really been quite lucky with opposition missing players; Vardy, Zaha and potentially Groß as well.
Saint Billy Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Backin us (£’s) from the off tonight, first time for a longtime. Its the hope that kills us What odds have you got Glasgow?
OttawaSaint Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 McCarthy Cedric Hoedt Vestergaard Bertrand Hoj Lemina Redmond Moi Long Ings Just announced. They messed up and put Austin in starting 11 and bench but said unchanged team.
Cabrone Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 2-0 to us, Brighton are no great shakes. We should win this one.
shurlock Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 McCarthy Cedric Hoedt Vestergaard Bertrand Hoj Lemina Redmond Moi Long Ings Excellent. Third game in a row unchanged.
DT Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Hoedt playing. Yoshi on bench. Long and Ings up front. Need to neutralise Knockaert
Dusic Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Unchanged. Solid looking lineup. Shame as we planned for a 5-3-2 this season that we have zero wide players aside from Redmond and Elyounoussi so hopefully they go through the season without injury. Looks a more vibrant team than last year!
John B Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Hoping it will be the same team as vs Palace. Keep a winning formula If Long is injured then Gabbi to come in. 2-0 to us Ings and Lemina COYR Yes I agree seems to be the same team with Long Playing
Pamplemousse Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Can't wait for Adrian's meltdown over Long.

Jonnyboy Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 And they had bands and girls and stuff. Strippers would be good

Saint-Fred Posted 17 September, 2018 Posted 17 September, 2018 Didn't the Boomtown Rats write a song about that? Obviously not as they wrote that song before football came into existence in 1992.
