supersonic Posted 15 November, 2018 Share Posted 15 November, 2018 I'm hoping that, like Ward-Prowse, he will one day get at least a few minutes on the pitch for England because I love ramming this down Pompey fans' throats, when they start going on about their 'history' and being a 'big club': England internationals Southampton David Armstrong James Beattie Ryan Bertrand Wayne Bridge Arthur Chadwick Mick Channon Nathaniel Clyne Peter Crouch Bill Ellerington Tim Flowers Fraser Forster C B Fry Kelly Houlker Kevin Keegan Adam Lallana Rickie Lambert Bert Lee Matt Le Tissier George Molyneux Terry Paine Tom Parker Alf Ramsey Bill Rawlings Nathan Redmond Jack Robinson Jay Rodriguez Luke Shaw Alan Shearer Peter Shilton Fred Titmuss Arthur Turner Danny Wallace James Ward-Prowse Dave Watson Steve Williams Mark Wright 36 Portsmouth Jim Allen Sol Campbell Peter Crouch Dan Cunliffe Jermain Defoe Jimmy Dickinson Jack Froggatt Peter Harris Mark Hateley Kelly Houlker David James Glen Johnson Arthur Knight Len Phillips Jack Smith Fred Worrall 16 Due to play the second half apparently

I’ve said before that Bournemouth will be ‘best of the rest’, lose a couple of key players and hit the slippery slope down. Wilson will be the first out I suspect. hypochondriac Posted 16 November, 2018 Share Posted 16 November, 2018 We had the same at world cup until Croatia but everyone will get all excited again..To be fair we have some cracking options now. Sancho, lingard, kane, Ali, sterling, rashford, Loftus-cheek, barkley and possibly foden in a year or two. There can't be many better attacking lineups in international football. Shaw, Lallana, Lovren and Lambert? Or even Mane, Wanyama and Pelle in one window in 2016? Only club I can think of doing something like that is Monaco and Dortmund (but both outside the PL)
Saint Without a Halo Posted 16 November, 2018 Share Posted 16 November, 2018 (edited) We had the same at world cup until Croatia but everyone will get all excited again.. Errrrr the win in Spain and draw in Croatia? They appear to bode well for a young team in transition I like the fact Southgate has a system and is building a team rather than pick a bunch of past it top 5 team players I am actually watching England again having got bored with them over the ladt 20 years Edited 16 November, 2018 by Saint Without a Halo

Saint Pete Posted 18 November, 2018 Share Posted 18 November, 2018 That match was unrecognisable from the boring substitution fests that international friendlies were before this competition. Nordic Saint Posted 18 November, 2018 Share Posted 18 November, 2018 England's biggest win since the 66 Cup Final. Wonderful game and a magical moment for the entire country!! I was at the game today. It's the best atmosphere I've seen for an England game at Wembley since 2013 when we qualified for the World Cup Finals by beating Poland and beat Scotland 3-2 with that Rickie Lambert goal. It really was a great game.

Nordic Saint Posted 19 November, 2018 Share Posted 19 November, 2018 I agree, the Nations League format has actually been quite exciting, but surely this is a bit tongue in cheek? Of course he was joking but this really was one of the best England games I've been to for decades. A few months ago people might have scoffed at this suggestion but we were watching a competitive game played between two of the best teams in the world and England won it. There haven't been many occasions when we could say that. This England squad and manager are really capturing the public's imagination. Apart from the Nations League finals in Portugal next summer, we also have the 2020 European Championships to look forward to and the final and semi-finals are at Wembley. Cabbage_Face Posted 19 November, 2018 Share Posted 19 November, 2018 England are finally enjoyable to watch, play with zero fear and we have a striker who can be absent for lots of a game and still score and be MOTM. Can't wait for 2020, we could have a massive chance of winning it.
