Saints foreva Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Well done boys. Gallagher sounded like he impressed.
Faz Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Oh dear, that’s slightly ruined the narrative for some of you depressives
benjii Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Seriously good result for confidence and morale. Makes for an interesting team selection Saturday. Both CBs sounded better than the ones currently in favour. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk Something seriously odd is going on if Yoshida doesn't play, that's for sure.
CB Fry Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Brighton beat Manchester United. We beat Brighton. Say no more.
shurlock Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Would he like to see two up front by any chance? Yep. Merringtosaurus rex and his 2up front with JWP and Davis in CM.
Heisenberg Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 So how much did you win? Just shy of a monkey
OttawaSaint Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Oh dear, that’s slightly ruined the narrative for some of you depressives Don’t worry they all won thousands by cashing out at the right time.
shurlock Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 So how much did you win? The respect of his peers.
Pamplemousse Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Obligatory question: when is the draw for the next round? Thursday 7pm
Micky Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Said this was a confidence booster and that I would settle for a nil nil, ended up with a nice brucie bonus at the end of the night. Decent away result. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
saint1977 Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Wycombe or Forest Green please. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk FGR please, never been there. Angleman had better get his burger and chips on the way to the ground though, no chance of getting one there, unless he likes soya or a vegan substitute.
suewhistle Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 See Berahino scored again tonight. The one who got away. Thanks Les I can't tell if you're being ironic or not with that "again", seeing as he hadn't scored for 2 and a half years..
whelk Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 FGR please, never been there. Angleman had better get his burger and chips on the way to the ground though, no chance of getting one there, unless he likes soya or a vegan substitute. Just gone out on pens

They lost the penalty shoot-out. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Heisenberg Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 I'd take WHU in the next round as the SWF massive have confirmed they are rotten
hackedoff Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Statement from Southampton football club Southampton football club would like to apologise for tonight's result. Everyone can be assured that the club will pull out all of the stops to ensure normal service will be resumed for our next game against Crystal Palace fc this coming weekend.
whelk Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Have we learnt anything from tonight? Bookies can’t cope with Glasgow
whelk Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Have we learnt anything from tonight? We are in the next round
Heisenberg Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Have we learnt anything from tonight? Brighton reserves are ****
Micky Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 West Brom away for me, great times there last season, always a good away day, and only an hour down the road for me. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
saint1977 Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Not happening. They lost the penalty shoot-out. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk Wycombe it could be then. That 0-0 draw there in L1 was dire. Burton could be an option if they hold on, Villa missed pen in last minute. Oxford would be a good night out. Got a feeling it might be Bournemouth though

Saint Albert Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Hard to tell a lot when all you have is Adam and Dave’s commentary and all Dave seems to talk about is how great it is when you play two up front. I hope that Yoshi comes back in for the Palace game after this performance in place of Hoedt. Last year’s scapegoat Redmond looks to have continued his excellent run of performances with his late cameo, and Gallagher sounded effective.

derry Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Weird on Saints Player, Commentary low key but caption comes up 0-1 Austin (88), after about a minute the commentary reaches the goal. Same with full time. Certainly eases the tension. Gallagher up top gave us better movement, Redmond and Austin added to that. Two off the line. Gunn sounded solid, the CBs OK. Now get Yoshida back into the League team. Elyanoussi sounded off the pace and needs to step up a notch. Armstrong out wide isn't working as he is as far as I know a natural 10.

I only caught SSN chap who indicated we were massively on top most of the time in a sh1t game.
Lighthouse Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Wycombe it could be then. That 0-0 draw there in L1 was dire. Burton could be an option if they hold on, Villa missed pen in last minute. Oxford would be a good night out. Got a feeling it might be Bournemouth though I remember that Wycombe game for 2 reasons. Firstly the kids having a penalty shootout at h/t and secondly the 50 tonnes of sand they’d spread across the pitch, killing the bounce stone dead.

Baird of the land Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 A win’s a win I suppose. Hardly sounded at all impressive. At least sounded like gallagher made an impression. Will Hughes be brave enough to play him in the league. Also good to see yoshi playing.
Saint Albert Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Perhaps someone who got to watch the game could comment on Stephens’ performance at RB.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 No worries you weren't missed You did though didn't you...

Dellman Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Could be worse boys. Only one relegation place up for grabs. Cardiff and Huddersfield have gone Don't be so sure about Huddersfield...good manager, great community support and high spirit makes up for a lot when the pressure is on...they will escape IMO
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 I doubt Long reads this forum and if he does, he’s probably got you on ignore. Doubt it, I'm one of the few that doesn't slag him off
Heisenberg Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Perhaps someone who got to watch the game could comment on Stephens’ performance at RB. And Gunn please. Got high hopes for him
benjii Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Don't be so sure about Huddersfield...good manager, great community support and high spirit makes up for a lot when the pressure is on...they will escape IMO They've scored something like 3 goals in their last 14 matches.
Forester Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 On the coach home and enjoyed that second half. Looked disjointed first half but unsurprising given number of changes. Second half thought David and JWP ran things, with Sam and Redmond in particular adding attacking verve. Fullback made Redmond go onto his left foot, and rather than come back inside he whipped in perfect left footed cross and if you give that service to Austin he thrives. Positives for me were Yoshida, Bednarek, JWP, Romeu, Davis and the 3 subs. Disappointed by Stephens, Targett and in particular Armostrong who looked some way short
Saint Billy Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Don't be so sure about Huddersfield...good manager, great community support and high spirit makes up for a lot when the pressure is on...they will escape IMO If they can vaguely kick a ball I’m worried.
Batman Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 They've scored something like 3 goals in their last 14 matches. The dire quality of their squad is making them cry
Jonnyboy Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Mess of a performance Hughes has lost it Armstrong wide left, Davis in the hole. Did I miss much?
doddisalegend Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 Have we learnt anything from tonight? Sam Gallagher looked useful and not at all out of his depth and Austin scores goals with the right service....
shurlock Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 You did though didn't you... True we can all keep an eye on you on here.
Batman Posted 28 August, 2018 Posted 28 August, 2018 The dire quality of their squad is making them cry More so as I have just seen their own goal Hahahahahaha

Armstrong is more a natural 8 than a 10. Played most of his games as a forward-thinking central midfielder rather than as a playmaker.
