doddisalegend Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 So **** at the back, weak in midfield and missing scoring chances at the other end. Just the same as last season then..
Pamplemousse Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 If you think this is bad, just wait until we get schooled by Puel next weekend
Mr X Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Hughes deserved his chance but we should have been aiming a lot higher than appointing him! Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
OttawaSaint Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 We’re great at getting unnecessary yellows though...
Batman Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 We should not be playing this set up away. Austin for Armstrong surely
Shroppie Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 (edited) So **** at the back, weak in midfield and missing scoring chances at the other end. Just the same as last season then..With probably the first two choices for CB and two likely choices in midfield out. Not surprising really. But I do agree about missed chances. I thought we played Austin because he puts chances away. Can't think of any other reason. Get Gabbiadini on. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk Edited 18 August, 2018 by Shroppie
Wrensup Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 If you think this is bad, just wait until we get schooled by Puel next weekend Now there’s someone who could sort a defence out!! On a serious note, as this rate I can’t see us doing well against Leicester.
Edmonton Saint Posted 18 August, 2018 Author Posted 18 August, 2018 4 players booked. We can't get close to them so we resort to giving away fouls. I remember when we used to outplay teams due to our fitness. Now we seem to have regressed.
Tauro Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Absolute shambles. The lack of discipline is embarrassing!
St Marco Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Very poor performance both tactically and mentally. They are 1st to every ball and look like they want it more. Stupid tackles going in. My main concern is we don't seem to be communicating with each other. There isn't any leadership. The defence don't know what they are being asked to do. Hughes needs to put a rocket up their ass.
dronskisaint Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Anyone got a Saintsplayer feed...I have nothing and no response from them to questions?
John Boy Saint Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Blimey we should be sponsored by Clinton’s - flippin cards everywhere! looks like the whole squad will be getting a game by the time the first amnesty comes up.
Saints foreva Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 How many ****ing fouls do we want to give away?
adrian lord Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 We're a very poor team, with a very poor manager. We need to get Hughes out ASAP and get in someone who can coach a defence. [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Heisenberg Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 As predictable as its got, its still miserable watching a side with so little quality and passion Just 2 wins now in Hughes 11 league games, scoring just 8. Too early to panic?
SuperSAINT Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 5 at the back vs Burnley at home. 4 vs Everton away. Mind boggling.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Very poor performance both tactically and mentally. They are 1st to every ball and look like they want it more. Stupid tackles going in. My main concern is we don't seem to be communicating with each other. There isn't any leadership. The defence don't know what they are being asked to do. Hughes needs to put a rocket up their ass. Hughes IS the issue. Why aren't people getting this? Amazed at how people will try to make excuses for him. Last year it was Pellegrino. This year it's the players.
gammon cheeks Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Hoedt and Stephens so **** in the air ! Lemina big wimp and we are playing a lot of long ball Stil llook as though we can score but defensively shockingly bad
Saintandy666 Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Same story as last year so far. No bloody goals at all. Everton looks miles ahead of us. Will be intersting to see how we compete against more obvious bottom half teams.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Maddison scores for Leicester. Good finish. Are you on Puel watch
Lighthouse Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 So do we want 4 4 2 or 3 5 2 ? Irrelevant. If players can't do the basics, no formation in the world is going to help. Nothing suits our silly fouls, unmarked hearders and missing sitters philosophy.
niceandfriendly Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 When Koeman left the enjoyment ended, the quality disappeared, the "marching on" well and truly stopped.
OldNick Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Hughes IS the issue. Why aren't people getting this? Amazed at how people will try to make excuses for him. Last year it was Pellegrino. This year it's the players. For some reason you are very anti Hughes. Give it a rest, we know you don't like him but in every other post makes it tiresome
team-saint Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Hoedt and Stephens is one of the most painful Cb pairings I've ever seen. Why the **** is Yosh on the bench
Crab Lungs Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Hoedt is utter ****e....but most of the muppets on here constantly whine about Stephens. Hoedt is an utter liability. Not impressed with Hughes in the slightest. Overall a season of struggle coming up. Our midfield of Romeu and Lemina is shocking and Everton are carving us open because of these 2 t**ts. Where is Yoshi? Our best defender. Welcome to my world. People, sorry, dinnies on still defend hoedt and actually think he’s good, or that he’ll getbetter.
Heisenberg Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Irrelevant. If players can't do the basics, no formation in the world is going to help. Nothing suits our silly fouls, unmarked hearders and missing sitters philosophy. This
striker Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Our defence (including the defending midfield) is poor. No communication and we just look lazy. I think our attacking side looks good though (again including the mid). We have created 4 or 5 very good chances, and are just a bit unlucky so far.
Pamplemousse Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Vestergaard is going to be an essential part of this team, because he's the only one who can defend. Get him and Yoshida or Bednarek forming a partnership. Need Armstrong on for JWP who has been poor, take Austin off too for a midfielder.
doddisalegend Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Turd again at 2 down not really sure how we respond. If we go more attacking we will let a **** load of goals in. If we try to tighten up at the back we will create nothing up front. We are a team that are screwed as soon as we concede.
Heisenberg Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Current league table looks worryingly familiar
shurlock Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Are you on Puel watch Doing a reccy on our next oppo pal.
DG Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Hoedt and Stephens is one of the most painful Cb pairings I've ever seen. Why the **** is Yosh on the bench Can only hope Yoshida is match fit soon and V gets over his illness so we never see either of them again.
adrian lord Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Been having a siesta, but from reading this sounds like a bit of a butchers slaughterhouse of a performance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
whelk Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Well everyone was shocked we had Hoedt and Stephens. Hopefully Vest and Yoshida next week although sensing Hughes might not fancy Yoshida
verlaine1979 Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 I hope nobody mistakes the fact that Ings could've scored for us actually being competitive in this game. Dire.
Bewildered Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Pure garbage. A lousy side who are as low on desire as they are on quality.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 For some reason you are very anti Hughes. Give it a rest, we know you don't like him but in every other post makes it tiresome For some reason? For some reason everyone is very pro Hughes, irrespective of his recent record. We're losing 2-0. I don't rate him. What else do you want me to post about?
Verbal Kint Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Can only hope Yoshida is match fit soon and V gets over his illness so we never see either of them again. Even if Yoshida was fully fit I'm not convinced he'd be played over Hoedt. Consistently dreadful but he is still picked week in week out
gammon cheeks Posted 18 August, 2018 Posted 18 August, 2018 Should have played Thor ! Even if he was ill and puking on the pitch would still be better than Hoedt and Stephens!
