Nordic Saint Posted 15 August, 2018 Posted 15 August, 2018 Klarer looks a very good prospect. The big Austrian central defender only just turned 18 in June but he is already one of the stars of Saints U23 team so far this season and gave a really dominant display in the Premier League International Cup win v Dinamo Zagreb. It's early days yet but I think he's going to make it all the way to the first team.
richardc Posted 15 August, 2018 Posted 15 August, 2018 2nd that - looks really strong for an 18 yr old
Chocolate Box Posted 15 August, 2018 Posted 15 August, 2018 Yep, I was thinking the same watching last night. Both fullbacks looked very promising too, especially Valery.
Nordic Saint Posted 31 August, 2018 Author Posted 31 August, 2018 (edited) Sunderland want him. He is one of our best young players and potentially already the most talented young central defender we've got. https://www.footballfancast.com/league-one/sunderland/sunderland-must-sign-christoph-klarer-on-loan-from-southampton-before-deadline Edited 17 September, 2024 by Nordic Saint
SuperSAINT Posted 31 August, 2018 Posted 31 August, 2018 Sunderland want him. I guess it won't be long before the big six clubs are after him. He is our best young player.and probably already the most talented central defender we've got. https://www.footballfancast.com/league-one/sunderland/sunderland-must-sign-christoph-klarer-on-loan-from-southampton-before-deadline Isn't that one of those The player Sunderland MUST sign is... articles? Regardless, he does look a prospect & one of the beneficiaries of Jones going to Scotland.

It just seems to be the opnion of that writer but, as you say, he is a prospect and already attracting attention. He's one of those players who is so good you can't fail to be impressed whenever you see him play.
alpine_saint Posted 31 August, 2018 Posted 31 August, 2018 Only a matter of time before he gets a full call-up for Austria. Hes being watched very closely
Nordic Saint Posted 19 July, 2019 Author Posted 19 July, 2019 He seems to be in the pre-season squad so I wonder if he will make a first team appearance in any of the friendly games? Although he's very young he could be part of the solution to our central defensive problem.
Nordic Saint Posted 20 July, 2019 Author Posted 20 July, 2019 Klarer came on for the last 20 minutes so no more goals conceded and we won 3-1. A good result.
DT Posted 24 July, 2019 Posted 24 July, 2019 Perhaps this partially explains the lack of new signings at CB if we have a gem to come through
John Boy Saint Posted 24 July, 2019 Posted 24 July, 2019 Funny reading some of the above, especially after going to the Hampshire Cup Semi-Final against v Basingstoke Town at the Camrose. I wondered what all the fuss was about as he looked uncomfortable against a team of part timers.
