Dusic Posted 10 August, 2018 Posted 10 August, 2018 O'Connor being converted to a CB perhaps? Overall very similar to last season. Probably a few for whom this season will determine if they really have what it takes at Saints: Sims, Jones, Slattery, Hesketh etc. You can't be a player of potential forever.
Useful Idiot Posted 10 August, 2018 Posted 10 August, 2018 That midfield looks like it is missing someone who will stick their foot in to win the ball. Slattery and Smallbone have both looked more like forward thinking CMs than holding midfielders when I've watched them play before.
Dusic Posted 10 August, 2018 Posted 10 August, 2018 Standard absolutely horrific. Sims nor Hesketh gain anything from playing at this level, especially in division two. Both should be out on loan playing every week in men's football.
trousers Posted 10 August, 2018 Author Posted 10 August, 2018 2-0 FT Hesketh our stand out player (perhaps unsurprisingly). Scrappy first goal and good finish from Barnes to secure the victory in the closing seconds.

Both should be out on loan playing every week in men's football. I think they should both be regularly featuring on the bench for the first team instead of players like Long and Davis. Sims is ready and good enough to make an impact.
Avenue_Saint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 2-0 FT Hesketh our stand out player (perhaps unsurprisingly). Scrappy first goal and good finish from Barnes to secure the victory in the closing seconds. Rate Hesketh a lot. Really should be around first team bench and cup games. With game time, we actually have a talented group of players that could develop in yo top flight players. Valery Jones (by all accounts) Hesketh Slattery Sims Gallagher All could flourish. Hesketh really is the jewel though
SuperSAINT Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Hesketh needs a loan without any doubt. Oxford or MK Dons would be good clubs.
Patrick Bateman Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 I think they should both be regularly featuring on the bench for the first team instead of players like Long and Davis. Sims is ready and good enough to make an impact. Absolutely this.
Suomi Saint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 If they are going to make it at Saints they would have done so by now. Hesketh is made of glass, but Sims could have a career at a lower level. Players of an earlier era, e.g. Stevie Williams and Steve Moran, were not out of their depth at 18,19,20 against the likes of Liverpool who were dominating Europe.
