whelk Posted 11 August, 2018 Author Posted 11 August, 2018 Never a red Agree and expert ex-ref Peter Walton on BT agreed it was a red. Fcking ridiculous IMO. But it is Everton so funny
Dusic Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Red card a bit of a shame. Jagielka probably wouldn't have played next weekend as Yerry should be fit but obviously no chance now which is frustrating.
Pamplemousse Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Definitely not a red, he only went in with one foot and it didn't seem overtly dangerous. Yellow would have been sufficient.
ashnats Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Are we safe from the threat of relegation for the next 18 hours ? No, our relegation was sealed in preseason when we lost 3-0 to the Germans, keep up...
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 (edited) Never a red Foot slightly raised off the ground, studs up, went through the ankle. Asking for trouble. Edited 11 August, 2018 by shurlock
Batman Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Bound to be the first reason to squinny that VAR is not available in the league this year
John Boy Saint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Borderline, he was stretching and his studs were up and he did catch his ankle with a bit of gusto, with benefit of replays Ref made the right decision in the first instance.
Pamplemousse Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Bound to be the first reason to squinny that VAR is not available in the league this year Don't think VAR would have overturned it, wasn't an obvious error.
John Boy Saint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Never a straight red It’s nothing new, been the default penalty for the offence for a couple of season now
suewhistle Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 I didn't see it, but The Guardian live commentary said this "It was a slightly reckless tackle, with his studs following through into Jota’s ankle,", but they've subsequently posted this: "Well this is interesting Apparently the referee sent Jagielka off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity rather than, as we first thought, serious foul play. That means Jagielka will miss one game rather than three."
skintsaint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Probably score now but Theo looks pretty average.
striker Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Wow, 10 man Everton goes ahead 2-1 at the 68th minute. Time to park the bus.
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Wow, 10 man Everton goes ahead 2-1 at the 68th minute. Time to park the bus. The silva truthers and fanboys will be happy. In other news, Leeds 4-1 up.
adysaint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 No one dislikes Everton more than me (trust me). But I do find this amusing. A lot of people touching themselves over Wolves - I seen a lot of fans on here and pundits having them in the top 10. On what basis? Spending a zillion pounds on 59 Portugese players that no one has heard of? They are poor. They will struggle. Same as any team that comes up. And they certainly won't finish higher than us.
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Both the Silva and the Bielsa truthers That would be Guardiola, Simeone and Pochettino?
Trader Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Agree and expert ex-ref Peter Walton on BT agreed it was a red. Fcking ridiculous IMO. But it is Everton so funny Expert ex-ref Peter Walton? You obviously don’t remember that match in League 1, I forget the opponents, but he was absolutely abysmal.
striker Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 A poor result for Wolves. At home, playing up a man for most of the game, and just get a draw. Really a bad day for all the promoted teams.
Shroppie Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Richaldson injured. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
trousers Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Draw was the worst result for us. Knocked us back down to 13th
Dr. Kucho Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Expert ex-ref Peter Walton? You obviously don’t remember that match in League 1, I forget the opponents, but he was absolutely abysmal. Against Brighton? Could it have been in the Championship?
hypochondriac Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Draw was the worst result for us. Knocked us back down to 13th Although 13th will probably be our highest position this season so it's not all bad
ashnats Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Although 13th will probably be our highest position this season so it's not all bad We were 12th earlier.
hypochondriac Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 We were 12th earlier. We will be 13th when we start the season.
woodsaint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Chambers didnt cover himself in glory for Palaces first goal. Not a strong centre back and doesnt read the game well enough to play there. Right back if anything
Lighthouse Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 That's definitely a red for Jagileka IMO; lunged in with his whole weight, studs up into the standing leg. Lucky not to break it.
John Boy Saint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 That's definitely a red for Jagileka IMO; lunged in with his whole weight, studs up into the standing leg. Lucky not to break it. Shearer said it’s a red too........Who’s brave enough to argue with him: case closed
Ultimatt Posted 12 August, 2018 Posted 12 August, 2018 Shearer said it’s a red too........Who’s brave enough to argue with him: case closed Agree. Even if you think the challenge only deserved a yellow, add an extra yellow for him being last defender. Red all day.
Miltonaggro Posted 12 August, 2018 Posted 12 August, 2018 Draw was the worst result for us. Knocked us back down to 13th Happy with that at this stage in the season to be honest, Hughes clearly a motivator.
Batman Posted 12 August, 2018 Posted 12 August, 2018 The officiating At Huddersfield was a bit suspect
Lighthouse Posted 12 August, 2018 Posted 12 August, 2018 I know it’s Liverpool but West Ham don’t half look crap on MOTD. That defending for the second goal.
Batman Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 Puel (apparently) has 2 games to save his job... imagine my surprise.....
Heisenberg Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 Puel (apparently) has 2 games to save his job... imagine my surprise..... 4 wins in his last 22 with probably the 8th best squad in the Premier league. No surprises they are getting nervous. Wolves up next..... Has to win that
OttawaSaint Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 Puel (apparently) has 2 games to save his job... imagine my surprise..... That 2nd game is vs Saints isn’t it. Could we do to him what we did to Hoddle?
OldNick Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 It is pretty pathetic if hes goes so soon, they were good against Man Utd and played excellent football
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 It is pretty pathetic if hes goes so soon, they were good against Man Utd and played excellent football Probably due to his interviews...
doddisalegend Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 Just leaving aside the whole Puel hate thing for a minute. Why would any club give a manager three games of a new season to save his job? If Leicester weren't sure about him why didn't they sack him at the end of the season and get a new guy in for pre-season? Seems bonkers to start your season off possibly looking for a new manager only three games into a season.
ericb Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 But i thought Saints fans forced Puel out for being boring and it had nothing to do with him falling out with players in the squad and them not respecting him. Must just be an organised campaign against him that means that the same stories seem to be coming out from Leicester, because this forum is never wrong
Greenridge Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 Anyone who took a glancing look at The Foxes forum last season would have thought they were looking at this forum a season previous. It was a mirror image.
Crab Lungs Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 So they’ve let him spend £100m then within a couple of weeks, they’ll sack him? What is wrong with football? Fukkin hell
saint1977 Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 So they’ve let him spend £100m then within a couple of weeks, they’ll sack him? What is wrong with football? Fukkin hell I would say it was strange but in these days PL it probably isn’t that unusual. Claude probably hasn’t recruited the new players but surely has some input? There’s been rumours that his style of football isn’t their cup of tea either but he had the high scoring game at Spurs and a decent performance at OT. Decision wouldn’t be surprising but timing would be very strange. Not a decision you’d see in any other industry. In their position, I’d give him a dozen to fifteen games to see if he can get the new signings like Maddison firing and bringing a more attacking approach. Still, could be paper talk and not even true! Does seem someone behind the scenes there isn’t keen on Claude though.

That dressing room has a pretty good history of ousting a manager who guided them to an achievement beyond their wildest dreams, so if Puel is paid off or like Pearson packed off surreptitiously to manage another of the Thai owners clubs, after 3 games is pretty shabby. Man U away is a tough start to anyone’s seasons.
danjosaint Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 Rumours have it that Martinez and Henry are waiting in the wings
Crab Lungs Posted 13 August, 2018 Posted 13 August, 2018 Rumours have it that Martinez and Henry are waiting in the wings Martinez and Henry? Thatll be a mess. Looking forward to Vieira being absolutely cr4p for Nice too. Massive hullabaloo over him for nothing, really. Just realised I just rubbished Henry and Vieira... I’m not racist btw, I like Chris Hughton

I know his style was unpopular here due to a lack of goals but Leicester scored 56 last season only the top six scored more (mind you they conceded more goals than us conceding 60) so surely the games must have had more goal mouth action than ours and a must have been pretty attacking..
