trousers Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 what is going to happen with Qatar 22 being played in the middle of the season, how many teams are going to find big superstar sized holes in their team when the season resumes. Isn't the main reason players are late back after world cups due to them being 'entitled' to a 2 week holiday at end of the season. As such, given the Qatar world cup is mid-season, there's no reason why players shouldn't be back at their clubs as soon as their world cup campaign has finished, is there?

Players in England are used to playing through the season. What will be interesting is how countries who take a winter break will deal with it. Will they tag the winter break onto the World Cup break which will give a minimum 6 week lay off, will they have a separate 2nd break for the winter break, or will they ignore altogether?
OttawaSaint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Lots of chances in this game. A bit more composure an it’d be 4-5 or something.
Batman Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 why do 'taters say that Newcastle fans 'really like a good number 9'? are other fans not that bothered or something?
whelk Posted 11 August, 2018 Author Posted 11 August, 2018 Can see Spurs murdering them today, Retract
whelk Posted 11 August, 2018 Author Posted 11 August, 2018 why do 'taters say that Newcastle fans 'really like a good number 9'? are other fans not that bothered or something? I hate number 9s. Too many Geordie associations
OttawaSaint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Spurs are jammy ****s. Newcastle have missed some real sitters and now Rondon’s shot deflected onto bar.
Sheaf Saint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Not a bad goal this..... Reminds me of that goal Austin scored against us a few years ago while playing for QPR.
OttawaSaint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Reminds me of that goal Austin scored against us a few years ago while playing for QPR. ...and then Pelle upstaged him...
OttawaSaint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Kenedy has been terrible today. Guess he just plays well against us.
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Pick of the 3pm games? Wolves - Everton? Think Fulham - Palace will be entertaining.
Window Cleaner Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Pick of the 3pm games? Wolves - Everton? Think Fulham - Palace will be entertaining. Wolves - Everton is at half five. Definitely going to have a look at Fulham.
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Wolves - Everton is at half five. Definitely going to have a look at Fulham. Cheers missed that.
striker Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Yep, Fulham look fairly dangerous. They also look weak on D. I see lots of high scoring matches for them this season
striker Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 I think Brighton and Huddersfield are in for long seasons.
farawaysaint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 I think Brighton and Huddersfield are in for long seasons. Us too, looking at the quality of these teams
striker Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Very entertaining match, Fulham v Palace. Both teams look dangerous moving forward and, well, not so dangerous defensively.
Dark Munster Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Rather sad I'm hoping for the weaker (relegation candidate) teams to lose. Newcastle lost and Cardiff, Fulham, Huddersfield, and Brighton all currently losing.
Pamplemousse Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Brighton another team people are overestimating
Dusic Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Palacd are a good team IMO. Lots of pace and dynamic players, massive threat on the counter attack. Could push top half if Zaha stays fit.
striker Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Agree. Palace, especially Zaha, were really good in the 2nd half. Hodgson has done a really good job. Welcome to the PL Fulham and Cardiff
trousers Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Up to 12th. 3 points off top with a game in hand. Solid start.
northam soul Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Up to 12th. 3 points off top with a game in hand. Solid start. Only 12th ffs Hughes out
whelk Posted 11 August, 2018 Author Posted 11 August, 2018 Up to 12th. 3 points off top with a game in hand. Solid start. I’ll take one place below City all day long
Badger Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Are we safe from the threat of relegation for the next 18 hours ?
whelk Posted 11 August, 2018 Author Posted 11 August, 2018 Back the big six to win and new boys to lose and you’d have had a good day so far
John Boy Saint Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 Up to 12th. 3 points off top with a game in hand. Solid start. Bournemouth fans will be moaning at big team bias on that table as they scored 2 with no reply putting them in the Champions League position
shurlock Posted 11 August, 2018 Posted 11 August, 2018 The Bielsa experiment at Leeds is engrossing as it is deranged - still think it’s going to end in tears.
