doddisalegend Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 I'll agree with fragile at the back, but we have two first-choices defenders still out. Attack have had few chances, not getting the supply with the final pass. Not true that midfield are going backwards. Looking to move forwards with good movement. Need Elyounoussi to give a bit of craft. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk I'd agree about the midfield looking forward especially Armstrong who is always looking to move the ball forward..I like the look of him so far. Better than last season I'd say.
striker Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Mo Ely, Redmond, Lemina, Cedric, and Austin make a big difference to the attack.
Shroppie Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 I'd like to see Elyounoussi for Long, Reed for McQueen, Hojbjerg for Davis or Romeu. Don't think Davis has been bad. JWP could also contribute, but I'm not sure who he'd replace. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Daft Kerplunk Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Don’t worry people, we lost 0-3 to Augsburg this time last year so the result is no indication on what the season ahead will be like.
OttawaSaint Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 A bit concerning but as others have said a few still to come in. More concerning is the slew of smug ****s on here getting all passive aggressive. Match day threads are going to be a ****ing nightmare this season.
Nordic Saint Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Powder puff in attack, fragile at the back and a midfield that likes to go back not forward, same problems as the last two to three years yet we have alarmingly done little to address the obvious imbalance in the squad. We seem to be missing a central defence. Hoedt just wanders around aimlessly and is of little use for anything whilst Vestergaard is a big unit who can knock players over but has little real effect defensively when forwards run into the penalty area, where knocking them over would just give away penalties. On this pre-season evidence, top Premier League teams would just waltz straight through them and score 4-6 goals. Of course, it is just pre-season so maybe they will look better when the league season starts and anyway it's highly unlikely that Hughes would start them both for league games. Yoshida has to be first choice but it's difficult to see who will partner him. And we still need a reliable goal scorer up front.
Micky Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Don’t worry people, we lost 0-3 to Augsburg this time last year so the result is no indication on what the season ahead will be like.Eeerrrr 4 nil actually, and we looked relegation fodder that day too. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Austin scores. Good ball from Targett from the right. Also, I will say, Gabbi looks sharp on the ball
Micky Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Austin scores.Hurrah the comeback is on. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Avenue_Saint Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Long, McQueen and Davis off for Moi, Sims and Højbjerg
Cabbage_Face Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 What makes me lol, is that pre season means very little, Man united smashed Real Madrid, what’s that mean? Roma tonked Barca, what’s that mean? Grow up you cluster ****s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint Albert Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Good cross by Targett from the right wing for Austin’s goal.
Saint Matty 76 Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 It's a shame we have three really good full-backs and a load of ****e at CB. Also this 5atb system allows us three attacking players max and that simply doesn't seem enough. Should be 4 of Armstrong/Elyounoussi/Redmond/Austin/Gabbiadini
Daft Kerplunk Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Eeerrrr 4 nil actually, and we looked relegation fodder that day too. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk Ah that’s better then. But Charlie Austin banging the goals in this year and Armstrong with one now. COYR
Batman Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 great ball by Targett again and a tidy finish by armstrong.
Saints foreva Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 And people on here think McQueen is the better player....
Dr. Kucho Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Anyone got a link to the game? Can’t find it on Facebook or YouTube.
Pilchards Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Targett can stay on the right please as he can cross 100% better than Soares. If we sell him to Fulham then our club are brain dead.
Saint Albert Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Targett on an assist frenzy in the second half. OK it’s two. Here’s me being sceptical of Hughes playing him on the right.
OttawaSaint Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Can’t get the stream at the moment. What position is Targett playing? Edit: nvm. Already answered. Looks like Cedric has to win his place back.

krissyboy31 Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 2 great assists by Targett from the right wing. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
Dark Munster Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Austin looks knackered. It's been a long pre-season for him.
saint77 Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Austin looks knackered. It's been a long pre-season for him. Uck me our fans
Shroppie Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Stephens may be weak on the air but he's so much more mobile than either Hoedt or Bednarek. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
angelman Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Meltdown averted? its amusing to see how whimsical one can be withing the space of an hour.
suewhistle Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-08-01/live-stream-southampton-rc-celta-pre-season-friendly-st-marys Thanks. Just in from training. I'll wait for my shower!
Pamplemousse Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 The fact Targett is playing suggests any move to Fulham is far away. We'd be mad to sell him really.
krissyboy31 Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Awful tackle by Oriel. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
Saints foreva Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Celta Vigo should have scored. More poor defending from us.
angelman Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Who ever does the OS does a really **** job. The video player is embarrassingly bad. Maybe for those of you who have fibre optic, then it is OK. For me on my 8 Mbps, it is ****..
Batman Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 quite like this....only been watching since HT and think we have been pretty decent
Suhari Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Some quality from Targett. Very nice pass for the equaliser.
OttawaSaint Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 What happened to all the trolls? Couple of tee times open up for twilight golf?
Batman Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Mo scored....didnt have to do much. Great shot by JwP
Yorkshire Saint Posted 1 August, 2018 Posted 1 August, 2018 Is it me or are the goals further away from the stands ? I reckon the pitch is smaller.
