eelpie Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Isn't Micky Adams out of a job? We need a kick-arse type manager who can inspire, like Pearson was. Dowie, Holloway from that list. But not Ince. Too gentle for our situation.
eelpie Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Crouch should have appointed Dowie when he had the chance. The fact NP did so badly here and only survived on the last day of the season gave Lowe the ammunition to give him the bullet. Get Dowie in now. It is unfair to criticise NP's early results. The team was dispirited and mentally tired (like now) but he did get improved performances out of them and it worked. But I agree, Dowie has the qualities we need right now.
eelpie Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Chris Marsden would make a good manager. Probably right. But this is no time for more experiments.
Greenridge Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Crouch should have appointed Dowie when he had the chance. The fact NP did so badly here and only survived on the last day of the season gave Lowe the ammunition to give him the bullet. Get Dowie in now. What a load of rubbish. Is it that convenient to forget the state of the club / team that NP inherited. He had to stop the negative momentum that was in place before being able to turn things around. As for Dowie, well his CV doesn't stand up to a great deal of scrutiny but in saying that I'm sure he's a better option than we have right now.
the saint in winchester Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Fascinating as all this is ... we suspect that if Lowe released JP, then he would appoint Mark Wotte. No further forward, are we?
Minsk Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Chris Marsden would make a good manager. Many people said the same thing about Jason Dodd. I would rather someone with experience thanks. Enough of the experiments! I would be happy with any experienced (in England!) manager, and especially so with any of: Micky Adams Iain Dowie Paul Tisdale
Thedelldays Posted 20 January, 2009 Author Posted 20 January, 2009 bump..... come on SFC make a proper change today

trousers Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Fascinating as all this is ... we suspect that if Lowe released JP, then he would appoint Mark Wotte. No further forward, are we? Aye...just posted this very prediction on t'other thread....
lee_saint Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 It's more of a case who would work under Lowe? I can't see many of them wanting to, we know that Dowie isn't keen on the board getting involved, it was one of the reasons why he left QPR.....then you've got to look at the money side of things, it has to be a cheap option, so he can't be at a club, I would put my money on Boothroyd. I see some people saying about Adams, he is at Brighton at the moment and they are just above the relegation zone in League One, not too keen on that one, he has had funds to play with this season and hasn't done alot there.....also, got to play Brighton compo.
Papa Shango Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 It's more of a case who would work under Lowe? Dowie has been sacked from his last three jobs. It's not like there's a que of clubs lining up to take him. I don't see why he wouldn't want to come here.
Thedelldays Posted 20 January, 2009 Author Posted 20 January, 2009 Tisdale might be a good idea. Been around a while but still young, knows the club a bit and has done pretty well in his early career. i think someone who knows the CCC is a good idea...
ottery st mary Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Many people said the same thing about Jason Dodd. I would rather someone with experience thanks. Enough of the experiments! I would be happy with any experienced (in England!) manager, and especially so with any of: Micky Adams Iain Dowie Paul Tisdale Paul Tisdale is a quality coach/Manager and has had a good grounding in all aspects of the game....Much more quality and experience than the Dutch crew.....Worked wonders on a non existant budget with some young and experienced players..... Only one stumbling block......Rupert...Tisdale could possibly report to A proper Director of Football/Chairman like Quinn...But Rupert running the show Continuation of Nightmare on Elm Street sorry at St Marys. Rupert please stand well back...time for some expert leadership.
ItchenRob Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 I would like Steve Cotterrill (sp?). Knows this league and no real failures (unlike the others on the list). I stand to be corrected though !
The Fat Controller Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 (edited) Stuart Pearce would probably take the job as He lives near Hungerford and is only 50 minutes away from Southampton. I cant think of a better motivator or a bloke not scared to give the players a b*ll*cking. At the moment we are too nice - we need a couple of bruisers signed to add strength at the back (Darren Moore type player) and in the middle (Possible Matt Oakley). As for the strikers - frankly not really good enough goal scoring rate to get us out of this except may be Saga. Failling that to get the fans back on side you'd probably have to bring KEEGAN back, and watch the buzz grow around the place Edited 20 January, 2009 by The Fat Controller
JohnnyFartPants Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 would he suck my ******** You will have to take that up with him.
bungle Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 I would like to keep the current manager, thanks.
Joesaint Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 INCE, think he would be quite like pearson! feel sorry for JP out of his depth
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 I would like to keep the current manager, thanks. In heavens name...why? You must be impressed with the ONE home win all season i guess...
Thedelldays Posted 20 January, 2009 Author Posted 20 January, 2009 In heavens name...why? You must be impressed with the ONE home win all season i guess... ignore him..he thinks jan is better than billy davies
West End Saint Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Ince Cotteril wise Boothroyd Any of the above would do me it is time for Jan to do 1
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 ignore him..he thinks jan is better than billy davies Fair enough i`ll try.. I cannot believe the dutch threesome have not been given their marching orders yet...
Flyer Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Holloway is a moron and is getting turned down by the likes of Swindon and Walsall. Dowie seems to want as many jobs as possible in order to get sacked ASAP and get his contract paid up. Of course this is a nightmare scenario if you cant afford to sack him.
saintedwill Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Keggy Keegan. If he wants a challenge without the big pressure of a Prem side Saints would be ideal. Big club at a low ebb. He could resurrect his name and enjoy himself agaain in the process. Please, please we need the passion of King Kev to give us something to cheer about... But then King Kev's only done well when he's had loads of money to spend. He won't get that with us. Dowie might be the best option when you see what he did with Palace in a similar position.
saintedwill Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 I would like to keep the current manager, thanks. so would I. He'd probably do a great job coaching the academy.
sidthesquid Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Paul Tisdale ticks all the boxes for the start of next season (assuming Exeter don't get to meet us in League 1)
paulwantsapint Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 We can offer WGS something no other club can HIS WIFE IN HIS OWN BED EVERY NIGHT also his grandson must be nearly as old as the current 1st team Failing getting the Wee Fella Paul Tisdale could be the man ( didn't recognise his picture without the hair ) still young enough to properly train with players only 36. Also can teach important lesson that not all bright talent gets a proper chance to shine which some players dont understand
ottery st mary Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Paul Tisdale ticks all the boxes for the start of next season (assuming Exeter don't get to meet us in League 1) Won again at Dagenham 2-1 last night. They loaned a very good young centre Half from spuds for one month. Pity we couldn't do that with our loans(Cork excepted) Troy Archibald-Henville.. Worth watching. 20 yrs. of Age Tisdale is definitely a star Manager on the rise.
