the saint in winchester Posted 1 October, 2018 Share Posted 1 October, 2018 If Hughes doesn't rate him, then perhaps his judgement, (or lack of it) is questionable. As we have a weak and accident prone defence who aren't capable of the zonal marking that he apparently perseveres with, perhaps Yoshida could be included in a back three to bring in his intelligence, pace and experience, as well as crucially an extra body. Yoshida is good enough to Captain Japan, who performed really well at the World Cup, so he has leadership skills, but he is seemingly not good enough to either replace Hoedt or Vestergaard, or to play alongside them. Exactly. The answer to our defensive problems is sat on the bench. Surprised The Echo or Solent aren't pressing Hughes on this. Or are they privately and been told the answer is confidential, so don't ask the question publicly?
Sheaf Saint Posted 1 October, 2018 Share Posted 1 October, 2018 Exactly. The answer to our defensive problems is sat on the bench. Surprised The Echo or Solent aren't pressing Hughes on this. Or are they privately and been told the answer is confidential, so don't ask the question publicly? I was wondering about this myself today. After the WC everyone was expecting Yoshi to become the lynchpin of our defence, yet he has been completely frozen out and the journos don't even bother asking about it in the pre-match press conferences. There's definitely something more going on that is being kept quiet.
