Fair play he's started well and looks good, bonus scoring goals, shows some intelligence in his play,  shame he'll now be away with Norway for a couple of weeks,  Stuart Armstrong is expected to be back after that.

To be fair he looked awful before his loan spell, 2 good games one against a league two side don’t make him suddenly great but at least he’s showing some signs of having what it takes.

You mean the management of the club who packed him off to Celtic?

Is that the measure of a successful signing now? £16m to give Celtic a first team squad member for not one, but two years?

I'm not entirely sure we are in the "you idiots were all proved wrong" phase just yet, somehow.

I see his surprising hot steak continued today with a goal for Norway, away at Latvia.

He's doing well, playing alongside Erling Haaland and getting lots more minutes, he looks a more confident player than we've been used to.  Played in the 1-1 draw against the Dutch last week and could get some more goals v Gibraltar on Tuesday, I'd be tempted to keep him in against West Ham.

you know when the highlights show a few flicked clearances for a corner its a shite game!

but yes, nice finish. Hopefully he can carry that on for a little bit, maybe around 8 months or so at least.

What’s the betting he does enough to earn a new contract in January then instantly turns crap? What is commonly known as the Saganowski streak!

Up to Stuart to impress when fit again and take his place. This is what better depth and competition does - keeps everyone on their toes in more of the positions.

Would like to see him and Armstrong play together and Djenepo dropped personally.

Think JWP, Romeu and Armstrong are dead certs to play if fit, and 2 of Adams, Broja and Amrstrong.

Leaves one spot for Walcott, Djenepo, Elyounoussi, Redmond and Tella.  I'd like to see Tella given that chance tbh, though he won't give us much protection going the other way, which I guess is why Moussa and Redmond are currently being favoured.

All hypothetical now though until Armstrong is fit.

I think Tella is seen as more of a forward and has tumbled down the pecking order a bit with Broja and Armstrong both looking strong. Strongest team with all fit will likely be:

McCarthy

Livramento Stephens Salisu Perraud

JWP Romeu

S. Armstrong Elyounoussi/Djenepo

Adams A. Armstrong

In my opinion. Broja is a great supersub, Redmond is not as good as Djenepo and Djenepo offers more with his ability to beat a man.

Whilst Tino has been excellent so far, I just can't comprehend how KWP can be left out of our strongest eleven. Ralph needs to find a solution, whether it's KWP playing instead of Tino or as well as, he's too good to be sat on our bench.

To stay on topic, Moi has pleasantly surprised me so far. Whilst he hasn't been spectacular and still lacks pace he does bring a bit of composure and experience on the ball and offers a decent goal threat. At the moment I would say him and Stu once fit for the number tens.

I think KWP is one of our top players but Tino is undroppable imo. Been our best player this season alongside Salisu and JWP imo. It's a shame to drop KWP but right now I can't see where he fits, I prefer Perraud at LB too as a natural left footer as our team lacks those a bit.

The fact Djenepo started the first 4 suggests Ralph and co rate him highly. He certainly has something about him, if he could develop a consistent end product he'd be excellent.

Put Livra on the right in front of KWP with S Armstrong left side and that's about right

I didn't actually think he was that good on Saturday? Seemed to struggle to get involved. He has been better in previous games than he was on Saturday.

He's certainly looking better than he did when he first came here though, will be interesting to see how he does over a full season. For me he still has those glaring limitations with regards to pace and strength which is why I think he'll always struggle to impact this level on a consistent basis.

Good lad….

“When I was staying in the hotel, I would go with him to his house to play FIFA. He was very important for me. I play as Barcelona. Yan plays as Real [Madrid] or Paris [Saint-Germain]”

Forget Big Mal, Mooreo & Venables pepper pots in an East End cafe, FIFA’s where it’s at.

I've always found that when you get to a certain age the real sign of maturity is knowing what makes you happy and doing it (as long as it's not hurting anyone else). If you enjoy video games play video games. If you like knitting then knit. If you like to argue on a football forum then do that. I don't personally play FIFA or Football manager or anything like that, but each to their own.

it's pretty worrying that one of the players greatest strengths is how good he is when he doesn't have the ball. I might list my greatest strengths on my CV as being brilliant at my job apart from when i'm dealing with customers or suppliers.

Greatest strength isn't only strength. And defending/pressing is a key part of being a winger/10/attacking mid in our system. It's why he is starting over Tella most likely.

It's as if marking, trying to win the ball back or stopping another team scoring isn't important.

Unfortunately for some defenders defend the goal and attackers score the goals, and that's about all they can manage. Tried discussing the idea of CBs benefitting from having good distribution and strikers needing good positioning and was met by a similar level of bewildered response by some on here.

A better analogy would be whether you're skilled at serving existing customers or reaching out and securing new ones, which in some industries at least are quite different roles

Sounds like Ward prowse when we get no free kicks

Ward-Prowse has been sh*t recently. Slow, ponderous, sideways, backwards and completely incapable of landing a corner or free kick on the head of his own team mates. Every single time, the opposition gets an easy head away.

I think there was ONE free kick that was quick, low and dangerous, but the rest are crap. Dead ball specialist ...

He needs to step back up.

Agree but who would you replace him with that is fit? Redders, Theo, Jenny are arguably all worse. I just don't get why we wouldn't at least try Tella or Tino there for at least one half?

I did say this summer that we had to sell as his value would never be as high as it was this summer.

He really contributes to our slow build up play.

I think when we get a fully fit squad, Stuart Armstrong on the right, and Tella or Djenepo on the left would be my preference...thought Moussa did more in 10 mins yesterday than Redmond and Elyounoussi did all game.
