Daft Kerplunk Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 The latest Norweigian to join the ranks? Looking likely according to sky sources
kelkel31 Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 completely wrong for this club, our supporters struggle enough to sing at home, how the plums do they think our crowd is going to be able to sing a song the incorparates this name!
Saint Billy Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 completely wrong for this club, our supporters struggle enough to sing at home, how the plums do they think our crowd is going to be able to sing a song the incorparates this name! I'm sure something can be done with Mo.
Guided Missile Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 I just love Wikipedia: Elyounoussi’s father owns a pizza shop in Norway, with young Mohamed occasionally dropping in to entertain customers by singing classic songs by the Nolan Sisters.
Gingeletiss Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 I'm sure something can be done with Mo. Use an old song I loved at the Dell. One man went to mow/Mo
Suhari Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Marquee signing #leswatch I wonder if Les will emerge from his lair for the photos this time?
trousers Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Looks like a faster version of Tadic? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvYpQiznHO4
Pilchards Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 I heard Claus put in a good word too. Told him the coke taste good down south.
Lighthouse Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Talk Sport just said it's a done deal! Oh, so it's fallen through then. Bugger.
Matthew Le God Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Talk Sport just said it's a done deal! Did they? How exactly did they word it? There is a significant difference between "bid accepted" and "done deal".

Cabbage_Face Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Good Signing, Exciting Signing. Not bothered about Tadic going if we get this guy.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Chelsea fans used to sing Tore-Andre Flo's surname to the 2 Unlimited "hit" no limits. We could adapt that chant for Mo, should he sign. And, given he's also Norwegian, I bet he'd be well chuffed.
S-Clarke Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Genuinley excited by this one, he's quality. Quick, bit of a unit - wouldn't say he's small, tricky and a very good dribbler. Also knows where the net is. I love these sorts of signings - star of a team in a lesser league, at a good age. We'll probably sell him in 2 seasons time for double the fee, but if that happens it means he's been a success. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvYpQiznHO4 Standard youtube.
igsey Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Looks like a faster version of Tadic? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvYpQiznHO4 Reminds me more of Mané from that highlights reel! Looks very exciting, let's hope we can get this one over the line.
Matthew Le God Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Arilas Ould-Saada @arilasos@arilasos Mohamed Elyounoussi’s agent is currently negotiating personal terms with Southampton. The player is expected to fly to England tonight or tomorrow for a medical.
shurlock Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Reminds me more of Mané from that highlights reel! Looks very exciting, let's hope we can get this one over the line. A less surly Boufal?
shurlock Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 So I guess this means no Quincy Promes then ? Boufal and Tadic out + we were looking to bring in another AM in Jan. Depends how Armstrong fits and if we intend to shift any other midfielders, including Davis.
Nordic Saint Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 All credit to Les Reed if he pulls this off... Especially if he's on paid gardening leave in Russia. I reckon you'll still be crediting Reed with masterminding signings from the grave long after he's died.
del boy Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Talk Sport just said it's a done deal! is that as in "Norwich accept Southampton offer for Maddison"?
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Especially if he's on paid gardening leave in Russia. I reckon you'll still be crediting Reed with masterminding signings from the grave long after he's died. You will continue your irrational and spiteful hatred for a man you have never met... Credit is due when its due but your unhealthy hatred is not...
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Looks good this guy and good business for 16m and if we sell Dusan for 18m makes it look even better... #goodbusiness

SuperSAINT Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Norwegian journo says Medical tomorrow. @arilasos: Mohamed Elyounoussi’s agent is currently negotiating personal terms with Southampton. The player is expected to fly to England tonight or tomorrow for a medical.
Cabbage_Face Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 [h=2]Personal life[edit][/h]He is the cousin of Tarik Elyounoussi, who is also a Norwegian international footballer and plays for AIK.[13] Elyounoussi’s father owns a pizza shop in Norway, with young Mohamed occasionally dropping in to entertain customers by singing classic songs by the Nolan Sisters.[14]
Batman Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 I think he would be a cracking signing. It seems an obvious shift back in our transfer policy. Go for very good players in lesser teams who are in the upward curve in their careers as opposed to bit-part players in top sides. Both ways are gambles but the former seems to have a greater hit rate for us Also, players in before out is always good. Still need to get the fullback positions made certain and the contract of McCarthy

Greenridge Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Paid gardening leave? Where have you read that? Gareth asked him to be there to explain some of the coaching manual bits.
S-Clarke Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 BBC Radio Solent have said they expect this one to be wrapped up before the weekend, and also Tadic to Ajax to be announced before the weekend as well.
Ex Lion Tamer Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Especially if he's on paid gardening leave in Russia. I reckon you'll still be crediting Reed with masterminding signings from the grave long after he's died. Has he been exiled to Siberia?
Batman Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 BBC Radio Solent have said they expect this one to be wrapped up before the weekend, and also Tadic to Ajax to be announced before the weekend as well. Ah well, at least we appear to have a quality replacement coming in. Hope Mo is quick too
Heisenberg Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Seems like a direct swap for Tadic both financial and position. With Armstrong confirmed (price £4-7m quoted) That would still leave us 35-45m from the vvd monies + whatever transfer budget we have allocated (from premier league /TV) for 18/19 season. Best guess 30m? So £65-75m still to spend potentially + I'd expect some more outgoing (Boufal for example) so would expect our spend to increase accordingly. It's been a slow start but I think activity will start to speed up now.
Dusic Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Looks good this guy and good business for 16m and if we sell Dusan for 18m makes it look even better... #goodbusinessGood business in theory, but with Tadic leaving he will have to hit the ground running and have a similar impact to what Tadic had at first. If he is another Boufal who doesn't adapt then we are in trouble.

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Have we been gazumped yet (it's the new "has he signed yet")? Seems like a very positive signing if all goes to plan & will hopefully Dusan's boots admirably.

Looks a good buy, glad we've had a reshuffle behind the scenes... Appears to be paying dividends immediacy. Ta-ra Leslie, your involvement will not be missed.
sadoldgit Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Especially if he's on paid gardening leave in Russia. I reckon you'll still be crediting Reed with masterminding signings from the grave long after he's died. And you will still be slagging him off for club failures long after he is dead.

Still need to get the fullback positions made certain and the contract of McCarthy That's a good point. The strategy of going for very good players in lesser teams worked for us before - Celtic players (i.e. VVD), Mané from Salzburg, Tadic from Twente etc. I think the club has tried to be a bit too clever in its recruitment in the last couple of years - hopefully these players will work out for us. He certainly looks good on paper.
JRM Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 He's no Egil Ostenstad but nonetheless I look forward to digging out my Viking helmet for the last away game of the season.
Faz Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 You'd hope we're after a decent replacement for Boufal too. Sims
DT Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Lemina deal must also be agreed for this to happen, methinks. Italy? Liverpool? Spurs?
S-Clarke Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Lemina deal must also be agreed for this to happen, methinks. Italy? Liverpool? Spurs? What's this got to do with Lemina? Totally different player.
Faz Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Lemina deal must also be agreed for this to happen, methinks. Italy? Liverpool? Spurs? Tadic
Matthew Le God Posted 27 June, 2018 Posted 27 June, 2018 Lemina deal must also be agreed for this to happen, methinks. Italy? Liverpool? Spurs? Why have you jumped to that conclusion? Lemina is a central midfielder, Elyounoussi is a winger/attacking midfielder. They aren't really competing for the same role.
