I know somebody, ex work colleague of 10 years, who witnessed the plane crash into the Pentagon. The Pentagon is surrounded by busy multi lane roads and it happened during rush hour. Thousands of DC commuters witnessed the crash. Yet if she ever mentioned it she'd frequently get berated by conspiracists who lived hundreds of miles away and weren't there. Their claim to absolute truth, denying the reality of eye witnesses is bizarre.

Much like ubercunt Alex Jones who was taken to court for the extremes he went to in declaring that Sandy Hook never happened. Just an absolute wrongun, he should’ve been put in prison for what he those families through.

Or certainly bankrupted, I bet some loony billionaire bails him out though.

'I hate Trump, she likes him - we both think he staged assassination attempts'

"Wild Mother - who already follows QAnon, the unfounded conspiracy theory which claims Donald Trump is involved in a secret war against an elite cabal of Satan-worshipping paedophiles - wants to believe Trump’s own team staged the attack in order to frame his supposed enemies in the "Deep State"."

Inclined to agree. That country (USA) has gone so far down the rabbit hole though that it’s hard to see it getting back some equilibrium for the foreseeable.

Yeah. That's how I read it. Beeb trying to be coy while getting across their real thought, and not doing a very good job of it.

Annoying since usually the record of people speaks for itself, without that sort of thing.

Such a shame that GM has decided to bow out of the forum. I'm sure he would have had a perfectly reasonable explanation why his tip isn't doing so well:

I guess that's what happens when the stock market gets infected by radical Marxists.  They're bloody everywhere!

Being a BBC podcast just means it will appear on the main stations, just called something trendier. Podcast is the new programme.

Which is why I caught a few minutes of it. The dialogue is pretty much the text of the article. The little I heard beyond that was laying their view on with a trowel.

There was another QANON thing on a couple of night later. Similar carefully worded positioning against such things, broader things they also label "conspiracy theories" and pretty much anything outside our traditional channels.

A show today was investigating some state based freedom group, now funded from the shadows by some think tank. I guess making it about the US versions gets more clicks than taking a look at the dodgy lot closer to home.

The narrator couldn't hide his snooty dismissive tone as the group politely said they don't reply to "legacy media" probably having caught another of the Beeb's shows on this stuff. They politely pointed him in the direction of some webinars. I didn't listen on to see how swivel eyed they turned out to be. But they saw the Beeb coming a mile away.

People's opinions and beliefs on any number of topics will be different. The Beeb has long since made it's mind up and clumsily lumps it all together with all the depth of a Daily Mail headline to get some listens on BBC Sounds.

They also come across as incredibly precious about other media. They slash their own journalism (whether from punishing those that uncover things in their own organisation or as part of turf wars or having relocate some to actually cover other bits of the UK). But there are some excellent bits of work out there by concerned. determined people.

As I said before, it's annoying as a bit more depth and actual journalism ( which they more than anyone should be able to fund) would allow people to make up their own minds, without being led down a path.

Is he trying to create material to support him claiming he's not mentally fit to stand trial in the future?

Either that, or he's a wreck.

You can see his supporters eyes glazing over in the background. Far from the first time even this month let alone before that he’s totally lost threads of his really speeches. Apparently he ‘weaves’ in and out of threads.

Nothing to do with senility.

One thing he did weave in was some hate, this time against disabled people https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-wisconsin-rally-speech-harris-mentally-impaired-b2620652.html

The most rambling speech this month was in Savannah, Georgia, last month, that state being one of the swing ones in the Electoral College. If Biden had made that speech….https://newrepublic.com/post/186315/donald-trump-struggles-focused-rambling-speech

I’ve heard of blackouts but not brownouts. And it sounds like the Venezuelans have taken over an apartment building in Colorado and are set to take over the whole country,

It’s almost as if he’s repeating the craziest conspiracy theories really incoherently.

None of this will stop people voting for him.

Of course, his core base would regardless and most of the GOP as it currently stands (minus the outflow of the country club GOP from the Reagan and Bush era to the Democrats, see Dick Cheney and Bush families). And in 90% of the country I think people have already decided too. It’s in the hands of a handful of Electoral College swing states now.

I don't think he ever believed what he said. Just played a part to get people to give him money.

Agree Trump has lost what little he still had.

Brownouts are where there is too much demand for available power supply so the voltage drops and appliances dont work properly, as opposed to blackouts where the supply stops completely. They are a thing in the US, partly because they mostly dont have the interconnecting electricity grid - meaning an area is reliant on only one, two or a few power stations.

Trump on a visit to the hurricane ravaged Georgia today, when asked by a reporter if he had reached out to President Biden to work together on the recovery operation, says "No I haven't reached out to him. I think he's sleeping right now".

Such a monumental prick.

From a New York Times article;

"An Ohio sheriff has been stripped of his role providing security at his county’s early voting location, members of a local elections board said, after he compared immigrants to insects and urged residents to record the addresses of people who have yard signs supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.

In a Facebook post earlier this month, the sheriff, Bruce D. Zuchowski of Portage County, called Ms. Harris a “Laughing Hyena,” and described immigrants as locusts, the crop-destroying pests that were said in the Bible to have caused a plague in Egypt.

“Write down all the addresses of the people who had her signs in their yards!” Mr. Zuchowski, a Republican who is running for re-election, said of Ms. Harris’s supporters, according to a screenshot of the since-deleted post. Then when immigrants “need places to live,” he wrote, “we’ll already have the addresses of their New families.”"

I agree with nearly all of that bar the last sentence. Biden got a clear win in 2020, not a big win, but plenty clear enough, whatever conspiracy rubbish Trump et al spew out. Popular vote Trump will significantly lose again, Electoral College will be far tighter but 5-10k headroom to Harris in enough of the swing states.

Like I said, I still think it's going to be closer than you think:

What a nutcase. And people said Biden cognitive decline, Donald is at least as bad these days https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/trump-unhinged-rally-rants-pennsylvania-1235130843/

Although it's got worse, he's been like that for such a long time. Only having someone as incoherent as Biden sometimes became was a distraction from the severity of it.

No wonder he flails and rails against Harris, infuriated that she can complete a coherent sentence.

I watched a televised Biden message regarding Milton. He got through it, but looked even more frail. Harris, who commentators are saying doesn't really have a role in a lot of this, but gets air lifted into everything ahead of the election, had much more energy and was able to interact with responders.

Not a good look for Kamala. She's had a bit of a mare so far with what should be a pretty easy job to look competent and normal in order to defeat Trump.

Are you sure you haven’t been duped? Trump is hiding from scrutiny- just let out to his rallies where he rambles on like an old man who’s losing his faculties.

Duped in what way? I think she should do a long form interview with time. I don't think it's a good look to avoid it and she's losing in the polls so you'd think she'd be up for it.

Are you suggesting that is a Time story?

The polls aren’t that clear at all. As said previously Trump is hiding Harris clearly isn’t

She's not losing. She is consistently ahead in the national poll of polls and crtitcally important, ahead in most of the swing states

From USA today a couple of hours ago:

Harris has narrowly trailed in battleground-state polling throughout October.

Marc Benioff, CEO of TIME magazine, put out SM posts berating Harris for not holding an interview with them. The image posted above, however, is not a genuine TIME byline.

Apologies it was the owner of Time magazine. Fairly sure he isn't politically biased. He seems about as liberal as you can get.

I wouldn't be so sure.

This Collin Rugg that you are quoting seems to be a Trump apologist. In other Twitter posts that he makes he refers to TV presenters being "far left". Far left?? A presenter on American mainline TV?? Do us a favour. I bet he believes that Kamala is a Marxist.

When people succumbed to heat at Tim Walz's rally, he stopped speaking, arranged for them to to be treated but then carried on. No cancellation of the event . No swaying to music. No Dad dancing.

Trump's cognitive ability must be questioned. He is the oldest Presidential candidate ever and his refusal to release his medical records makes me doubt his mental state.

So winning the popular vote but narrowly behind in the swing states she needs to win the presidency? My point anyway was that she is clearly not doing as well as she was previously so you would imagine she would take any opportunity to get herself out there in order to persuade voters to come out for her.

Did you miss that she did a Fox News interview yesterday? About as hostile a channel as she could ‘get herself out there’ to.

Could you see Trump doing MSN?  Fact that Time are complaining is a complete non-story.

although imagine the number of Fox viewers she won over could be counted on one hand

Hold on I thought yesterday you were suggesting I had been duped by even bringing up the Time story. Do you still think the owner is political biased? If it's a complete irrelevance then why even reply?

I did see the Fox News interview it was pretty cringe in a lot of places and probably explains why she's been avoiding a lot of interviews.

All I have seen is a screenshot of yours and not seen it anywhere so I don’t even know if it is even true - You clearly thinking this is evidence of Harris hiding whereas she absolutely isn’t and you can’t have been looking very hard to be that uninformed. So really don’t know what your point is about her not ‘getting herself out there’? Clearly bs and you sound like been sold a line that suits your narrative.
