The point, which you seem consistently intent on ignoring, is that Trump will make things immeasurably worse. Yes, there are problem areas around the world, but the last thing we need is a total moron in the White House too. He would make things worse for the Ukraine, worse for Europe, worse for the Middle East and worse for America. Apart from that, all’s good.

Also, for someone who doesn’t get the fascination with the American Presidential election, you spend a lot of time here defending Donald Trump 🤔

You mean like all the wars he started in his last 4 years as POTUS? Jeez.

Yes, exactly LOL In the last 4 years he was not, hence wars started. In HIS last 4 years, no wars. Got it now.

Well he did order the killing of an Iranian general which stirred up a lot of issues with Iran...for one.

Here he is David Icke  (east-stand-nic) with his conspiracy theories and completely besotted by the most moronic person ever to have become a POTUS.

Let’s pass on the mess he made of the job first time round, his attempt at insurrection, his many sexual assaults and criminal activities. Given the state of the world at the moment, his attitude towards NATO, his attitude towards democracy in the USA and his servitude towards Putin, I don’t think it is unreasonable to fear a future under Trump.

Have you ever looked back at history and wondered about the people who enabled so many crackpot dictators. Take a look in the mirror Nic and you will see what one looks like.

“Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore … You got to get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good you’re not going to have to vote.”

Translated as: The republicans will have such a majority in 4 years time that he won't need to request support from Christians or anybody else?

I read it as him enabling some fundamentalist End Times scenario, so they get their their ideological payoff and Donald is the last president anyone gets. It's got that foreboding tone to it.

In contrast, the idea to get an idea of the number of church goers and just add them to Trump's vote count, to save them having to vote, seems perfectly sane and a massive time saver. 🙂

Er, no. What he seemingly meant, and he’s partially clarified this himself, is that he can take forward further hardline restrictions on reproductive rights extending the rollback on Roe Vs Wade which appeal to the most hardcore evangelicals, well to the right of the Patrick Buchanan era, some of whom have a regular history of not voting.

He’s saying ‘lend me your vote this once, I realise you don’t often vote for anyone, and I’ll push through policies you live but which even large parts of the GOP don’t like, because I’m Donald Trump. No-one else could. You won’t need to vote for my redneck simpleton of a running mate for those policies in 2028. And if I get the opportunity, I’ll make further nominations to the Supreme Court which means it takes ages to undo.’

Given Harris’s latest polling figures showing an continuing uptick with Democrat core and swing voters, I’m not surprised he’s trying to court some off the grid members of his coalition, given he’s done very well indeed in 2016 and 20 with evangelicals overall.

Oh, ok.  I thought his general policy on Rowe vs Wade and abortion rights was not to give much exposure to the matter and to continue to allow each state to decide.

I think the introduction of Mike Pence helped there as previously he has not been popular with Christian groups due to some of his behaviours.

J D Vance says that the votes of people with children should count more than those of childless people.

Chuck Shumer, Senate majority leader, reckons that within 10 days Trump will have selected a different running mate.

Trump isn’t racist, honest folks https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/cd16dgz57p9o

More detailed story behind his appearance at the Convention here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c06k07dn1zjo

Some of the shit other GOP figures - Tim Burchett for example - spout is reminiscent of what the EDL post online, and about as accurate. No wonder Bannon praised Tommy Robinson, very similar politically to the present day GOP

That is at a convention for the National Association of Black Journalists. A little later he says "...a lot of the journalists in this room are black", which drew laughter from the audience, and then followed up with ".. coming from the border are millions and millions of people that happen to be taking black jobs".

Trump and Vance make repeated comments about how Harris as VP has failed to control the border, completely ignoring the fact that there was a bipartisan Bill before Congress that aimed to increase deterrence at the border but Trump said that Republicans should vote against it as he wanted it to be an issue during the Presidential campaign.

Indeed and she’s already using the border bill that Trump caused to fail as a decent attack against him. I think the phrase she used was “proof that Trump doesn’t care about the border, he only cares about himself”.

What 'phoney stuff' do you think Donnie is referring to when he says he wouldn't declassify the Epstein files because "...there's a lot of phoney stuff in there that could ruin a lot of people" ?

Polls closing rapidly. Trump a broken record and now widely becoming (even more so) a figure of ridicule. Harris now even money to win. Wonder if the cowardly fucker will go for a debate. Being mocked and called cowardly will hurt the narcissist.

What are the odds that the Donald will pull out of the race? Harris is now neck and neck with him in the polls. He won't be able to stand it if she starts to build a significant lead. Rather than accept defeat he could just pull out of the election.

Ill health could be the excuse offered. If he loses the election the odds of him going to prison in future years get a lot shorter. In return for standing down he may be able to negotiate for the charges against him being dropped.

This may very well be unlikely but don't discount it completely. In the last few weeks there have been some very unusual events in US politics. This could be another one.

Can't see it, if he loses he will just blame a rigged election again.

Odd running mate Harris has chosen imo. I thought she'd pick someone with a bit more profile who might help in the swing states like Shapiro.

I was listening last week to an interview with him. Came across as very personable and down to earth. Hard to paint as liberal elite for the Republicans as well. Although agree is a bit of a surprise

If you pay attention to what Trump has said in his recent rallies, you will stumble across the hilarious reality that Trump thinks an "asylum seeker" is someone who has escaped from a mental asylum abroad. Seriously. He's such an ignorant old moron.

None of them are very high profile, but yes, Walz is quite unknown. I expected one of Shapiro, Beshear or Kelly. Swings and roundabouts with Shapiro, shores up Pennsylvania but alienates the kids with his staunch Israel defense. He speaks eloquently and looks the part, and he's a good agitator to have on the sidelines. Walz has plenty of fire in his belly and comes across as down to earth and sincere...a complete opposite to the Trump/Vance ticket.

Harris/Walz will be attacked for being 'far left' but they've got so much better range to attack the other side's out of touch, stale, negative, extreme approach. Trump is having daily meltdowns (he's understandably shitting himself) and Vance might soon be regretting his decision to come along.  Dems have played it right after the crazy last few weeks. I didn't see this coming.

Shapiro wasn't picked because he's Jewish and the rest turned the gig down, apart from Walz, who completes the Laurel and Hardy duo of clowns. Trump shitting himself? You obviously haven't been watching this act in action. A pair of far left Marxists with the support of Bernie Sanders and AOC, who are unlikely to win over the blue collar voters of Pennsylvania. Maybe they'll impress the drug addled voters of California, those that haven't fled to Texas and Florida.

The Democrats have turned to shit every state they have been involved in. All that's need is a stroll through San Francisco, Kamila's stronghold, avoiding the homeless, human excrement and discarded needles and you may be able to witness "Dems playing it right". Personally, Kamila and Walz can laugh it up all they like, but I find it hard to ignore the damage the Democrats have done to San Francisco and New York. Unliveable shit holes.

If they get in, the US is fucked. Not to mention the rest of the World.

Oh and how is the Socialist dream going in the UK, lefties? Didn't take long for Starmer et al to turn the UK into a third world, crime ridden totalitarian state, did it? Hope you Labour voters are proud. I never thought they could fuck things up quicker than our last "Conservative" government.

Me? You will all be glad to know that I will be getting the hell out of Dodge as soon as I can. I want to live out my days in a Christian, Anglo-Saxon place, not an Islamic state under Sharia law, this country is fast turning into. Birmingham, Bradford, London and the rest. Places I have no interest in going to. Who would?

Musk is right. A civil war is inevitable. The army will be sent in soon, as the woke police are useless, someone will get shot and that will be the start. I pray I'm wrong.
