There was a good analyst on CBS last night saying that many senior Republicans have been working on the basis that once January 20th is over Trump will disappear and they can get back to reuniting the party - but that isnt going to happen, Trump isnt going anywhere. The party's major problem is that Trump got elected by bringing in new supporters - the MAGA types - but then alienated a chunk of the traditional George Bush type base.
