An interesting historical fact according to Donald Trumps speech yesterday.....

In 1775 in the American War of Independence the American Continental Army took control of the air and took over the airports.

As air travel wasn't invented for another 120 plus years this was quite an amazing achievement.

Though in fairness I suspect lots of people wouldn't have a clue about the war of 1812. I doubt many people realise the US invaded Canada and got beaten, or that British soldiers burnt down the White House or that the British attacked New Orleans and where beaten off by a rag tag US army that contained French pirates...wonder why trump didn't mention any of those in his speech?

You've got to wonder if his speechwriters put clangers in there for a laugh and to see if he notices. He doesn't.

Burnt down all the Federal buildings apart from the records house where land deeds were kept. The person in charge pleased with the British officer to spare it because it would hurt the people more than the government.

I wonder if Trump will answer this desperate plea...

Tommy Robinson has launched a public appeal for Donald Trump to grant him asylum in the US as he faces being jailed in the UK.

The EDL founder was found in contempt of court last week after filming defendants on trial and broadcasting it on social media in breach of a reporting ban.

He begged the US president for help and asked that his administration analyse the case in the hope he would be granted political asylum in the US.

Little Tommeh has long been a proponent of the "If you don't like the laws of our country you can always leave" trope, so it's positive to see he's following the advice himself at least.

Ha ha, Trump should do it, they have a lot in common and that’s one less extremist scumbag in our country. In fact, offer them a two for one with Farage.

Persuade N Korea to take Corbyn and that would improve things slightly.

Top idea to apply for asylum to a country you’re banned from.

"So interesting to see 'progressive' Democrat congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all),........."

..."Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came."

3 of the 4 Congresswomen thought to be the target of this message from Trump were born in the USA, ( so perhaps he is correct ).

Trumpton needs to get back to calling things "good" or "bad", or "very good" or "very bad" like an adult toddler.

Start to string any sort of adult sentence together and he gets himself into all sorts of difficulty.

Maybe we can get rid of Boris the same way.

Trump describes his own 'administration' and country very accurately. Unfortunately, as you set out here, not so accurate on the actual origin of the people he was throwing vile racist abuse at and in the case of the fourth, as another poster has said, if the same insult was hurled at Boris for being born elsewhere, quite rightly there would be widespread condemnation and the politician concerned hurling that kind of abuse would have to resign.

Something for Boris to think about (OK, maybe stretching his capabilities a bit far!) when cosying up to that lunatic with a stoat on his head for a trade deal which would make May's withdrawal agreement look like deal of the century.

All of the Americans I know are really ashamed of him and of the dense idiots outside of his far right backers who voted for him. Quite a few have left the US and more planning to.

Are you sure we haven’t seized it ourselves to pretend it is the Iranians?

We've been here before in 2004 and 2007 both times we negotiated a bit and then gave in to Iran to get our sailors back. We aren't in a position to do anything else it isn't 1870 anymore we can't just send a gunboat over there and make some threats and watch Iran fold. The yanks aren't going to do **** all especially under Trump who is all mouth and trousers.

Trump has cancelled a planned state visit to Denmark after the Danes said that Greenland was not for sale.

Hopefully he'll buy Scotland instead:

Last year's Government Expenditure and Revenue Scotland report showed Scotland ran up a £13 billion deficit in 2017/18, proportionally four times the UK's. It also disclosed a record "Union dividend" of nearly £1,900 for every man, woman and child in Scotland. Last year's figures showed total public spending in Scotland rose to a record £13,530 per person, compared to £11,954 across the UK as a whole. But an average of only £11,052 per person was generated in taxes north of the Border, compared to the UK-wide figure of £11,358. The UK Government said these two differences combined showed the Union was worth £1,882 for each person in Scotland.

Today's report will be even worse.

His dementia and infantile behaviour continue apace but, it seems, not fast enough to get him out of office imminently.

Sounds like he's about to absolutely shaft the Kurds in northern Syria this time.

The guy is deranged, simple, ill and nasty and needs removing pronto.

Apparently the Us army had no ammunition before Trump came to power [emoji15]

"When I took over our military, we did not have ammunition. I was told by a top general, maybe the top of them all, 'Sir, I'm sorry sir, we don't have ammunition.' I said, I will never let that happen to another president."

I guess US soldiers just used to make fake machine gun noises, when they were in combat, and hoped the enemy didn't notice the lack of hot lead coming their way.

Probably went more like this: "I want to invade China, and those pesky Europeans, maybe Mexico and Canada too". Awkward pause and quick thinking. "Erm, I'm sorry Sir, we don't have any ammunition".

He's seriously off his rocker.

After 11000 of them had died helping the US against ISIS, he said that he was abandoning the Kurds because, among other reasons: "They didn't help us in the second World War, they didn't help us with Normandy for example"

So Donald isn’t going to waive diplomatic immunity so that Harry Dunn’s family can get justice for his death. You can imagine the Trump tweets if a British women with diplomatic immunity had caused the death of an American in the USA and hightailed it back to the UK.

Has diplomatic immunity ever been waived? It is a minefield, but if there is a precedent then we could perhaps use that.

It is a very sad situation. I would like to also point out that I suspect any US president would be unlikely to grant the wish even if it was Obama or Clinton, It has been used to favour in the past especially when some Jewish children were saved from the Nazis in the 1930's as they smuggled them out in cars coming back from Europe.

It has been, but very infrequently. The worst case I can think of is the Yvonne Fletcher case when her murderer was allowed to walk away. I can see why countries sign up to the whole diplomatic immunity thing, but it can’t be right that people get away from facing justice just because of diplomatic expediency. Even if they faced investigation and trial in their own country, that would be something. In this case it would appear that it was a very unfortunate accident, but there ought to be consequences for the woman driving on the wrong side of the road. She is not even the diplomat, she is his wife. Why does she get to bigger off and leave the family without closure? I suppose it will be on her conscience for the rest of her life, but that doesn’t help the family.

What kind of sicko invites the Dunns to the White House, blindsides them with news that Anne Sacoolas is in the room next door and has the press corps ready just in case.
Apparently it was all Boris's idea

Trump claims Boris Johnson asked him to arrange surprise meeting between Harry Dunn’s parents and woman accused over his death

‘I spoke with Boris, he asked me if I’d do that and I did it,’ US president says

Tune in at 13:00PM, when the Don announces why he is the man.

Great timing by the liberal media, in the form of the lefties at Saturday Night Live, last night:

"ISIS," Davidson's character answered, echoing news of ISIS escapees in Syria. "I was in a prison in Syria until last week when you freed me. So, I just wanted to say thank you for bringing jobs back – to ISIS. And I promise that I will make ISIS great again."

"Terrific. What a great guy," Trump responded. "ISIS is back in a big way, folks. And we love that, don't we?"

Come Sunday, he announces the US special forces have got their man, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (The Iraqi equivalent for "Johnny English").

Total load of ******. Here's a transcript of the speech he gave:

Last night, the United States brought the world’s No. 1 terrorist leader to justice. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead. He was the founder and leader of ISIS, the most ruthless and violent terror organization anywhere in the world. The United States has been searching for Baghdadi for many years. Capturing or killing Baghdadi has been the top national security priority of my administration. U.S. Special Operations forces executed a dangerous and daring nighttime raid in northwestern Syria and accomplished their mission in grand style.

The U.S. personnel were incredible. I got to watch much of it. No personnel were lost in the operation, while a large number of Baghdadi’s fighters and companions were killed with him. He died after running into a dead-end tunnel, whimpering and crying and screaming all the way. The compound had been cleared by this time, with people either surrendering or being shot and killed.

Eleven young children were moved out of the house uninjured. The only ones remaining were Baghdadi in the tunnel, and he had dragged three of his young children with him. They were led to certain death. He reached the end of the tunnel, as our dogs chased him down. He ignited his vest, killing himself and the three children. His body was mutilated by the blast, the tunnel had caved in on it in addition, but test results gave certain, immediate and totally positive identification it was him.

The thug who tried so hard to intimidate others spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread — terrified of the American forces bearing down on him. We were in the compound for approximately two hours, and after the mission was accomplished, we took highly sensitive material and information from the raid, much having to do with ISIS, origins, future plans, things that we very much want.

Baghdadi’s demise demonstrates America’s relentless pursuit of terrorist leaders, and our commitment to the enduring and total defeat of ISIS and other terrorist organizations. Our reach is very long. As you know, last month we announced that we recently killed Hamza bin Laden, the very violent son of Osama bin Laden, who was saying very bad things about people, about our country, about the world.

He was the heir apparent to Al Qaeda. Terrorists who oppress and murder innocent people should never sleep soundly, knowing that we will completely destroy them. These savage monsters will not escape their fate — and they will not escape the final judgment of God.

Baghdadi has been on the run for many years, long before I took office. But at my direction, as commander-in-chief of the United States, we obliterated his caliphate, 100 percent, in March of this year. Today’s events are another reminder that we will continue to pursue the remaining ISIS terrorists to their brutal end. That also goes for other terrorist organizations. They are likewise in our sights.

Baghdadi and the losers who worked with him — and losers they are — they had no idea what they were getting into. In some cases they were very frightened puppies, in other cases they were hard-core killers. But they killed many, many people. Their murder of innocent Americans James Foley, Steven Sotloff, Peter Kassig and Kayla Mueller were especially heinous. The shocking publicized murder of Jordanian pilot — a wonderful young man, spoke to the king of Jordan, they all knew him, they all loved him — who was burned alive in a cage for all to see, and the execution of Christians in Libya and Egypt, as well as the genocidal mass murder of Yazidis, rank ISIS among the most depraved organizations in the history of our world.

The forced religious conversions, the orange suits prior to so many beheadings, all of which were openly displayed for the world to see — this was all that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi — this is what he wanted, this is what he was proud of. He was a sick and depraved man. And now he’s gone. Baghdadi was vicious and violent, and he died in a vicious and violent way, as a coward, running and crying. This raid was impeccable, and could only have taken place with the acknowledgment and help of certain other nations and people.

I want to thank the nations of Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iraq, and I also want to thank the Syrian Kurds for certain support they were able to give us. This was a very, very dangerous mission. Thank you as well to the great intelligence professionals who helped make this very successful journey possible.

I want to thank the soldiers and sailors, airmen and Marines involved in last night’s operation. You are the very best there is anywhere in the world, no matter where you go there is nobody even close. I want to thank Gen. Mark Milley and our Joint Chiefs of Staff, and I also want to thank our professionals who work in other agencies of the United States government and were critical to the mission’s unbelievable success.

Last night was a great night for the United States and for the world. A brutal killer, one who has caused so much hardship and death, has violently been eliminated — he will never again harm another innocent man, woman or child. He died like a dog. He died like a coward. The world is now a much safer place.

God bless America, thank you.

Too long for a tweet and nowhere in his speech is Trump trying to take credit for what was done, so stop being yet another brainless tool of the left and read.

Trump’s comments yet again show what an appalling human being he is. He is a coward. He bottled it when it came to serving his country and he has the temerity to say that someone else died like a dog and a coward. What a total ****.

That's not fair!!

He was about to get on the plane to Vietnam where he would have been incredibly brave when he got an attack of bone spurs in his heels. No way could he fight suffering from such an awful complaint. The war went on for another 7 years without Trump. It would have been a lot shorter if he had been there.

Is there any truth in the rumour that bone spurs in your heels can cause dementia in later life?
