Musk has said the the Department of Education no longer exists, and a group of Democrat Congress members were denied access to the D of E headquarters by Dept of Homeland Security police.

That is the perfect summary of the modern Republican Party and MAGA - abolish the Department of Education. Classic fascist playbook.

Trump on whether he would deport Prince Harry lol “I don’t want to do that,” the president said. “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

If nothing else he’s a wonderful judge of character.

Something I do agree with Donald Trump on.

Although Trump has claimed he rejects Project 2025, he is working through it line by line. The latest Agency that Musk claims to have eliminated is the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: Musk tweeted "CFPB RIP", after DOGE gained access to it's systems.

It’ll turn consumer financing into the Wild West - that car you bought still has unpaid finance in it - unlucky!

Billionaires and scammers all over the US will be delighted with that, as will the payday loan industry. Oh well, the poorest Americans voted for Trump enthusiastically. Enjoy your poverty!

Even if you are aligned with Trump at a policy level, if you can't see the problem and danger with the way he goes about things then you have to be one dumb idiot.

He's hardly in a position to label someone else's wife as terrible, look what he's married to.

Given Donald’s desire to remove the Palestinians from their homes and relocate them to other countries, perhaps the ICC should add his name alongside Netanyahu’s on the indictment for ethnic cleansing?

When are they going to start to drill, baby, drill?  Petrol prices are on the rise again so excess oil from the USofA should see them come back down again.

70% of US crude oil il is imported from Mexico and Canada, and now potentially subject to tariffs, hence prices have gone up in anticipation.

I guess you have never read any history books and once again, seem to think only Israel are guilty of genocide, while Hamas and Islamic extremists are guilty of nothing. Guess that's why you support/back the Asian Pedo gangs and will not have a word said against them. Vile.

Edit: I note many crying about my comments, but as I said last week, it seems OK for others like SOG to accuse me of being things and sayign things I never said or am? So, can I also take him to court for his outrageous slanders remarks against me, or is it different for him? Think, you dopes.

You are fucking unhinged. I have never read anything from anyone on here that shows support for pedo gangs.

If you stop posting complete bollocks people might stop taking the piss out of you.

Nic, why post a laughing emoji on a post that accurately states 70% of US oil is imported from Canada and Mexico ? Do you have some automatic, sub-concious response to certain posters that leads you to add these without thinking  or recognising that you are doing so ?

Accusing someone of supporting gangs that rape children?

Wow, that post woke up the legal department, I admire your bravery, good luck in court.

You really are a strange person. Not once have I said that Hamas or Islamic extremist are “guilty of nothing”.

Not once have I supported Asian pedo gangs and not once have I not had a word said against them as you claim.

Like all conspiracy theorists you read things that are not there and then spew them back as reality.

The only person guilty of slander here is you. You are either not very bright or you just get your kicks by trolling on the internet.

Trump and Peace
The reality and unambiguous policy of Trump is now all too apparent. He has dismissed democracy as a political inconvenience and that the only thing that is important is "the deal". That deal should benefit him and the USA.

On the grander scale of things his real fear and enemy is China. I am certain he wants an ally in Putin to offset the cosy relationship between Russia and China that currently exists. It is also very evident he does not care about Europe or for that matter NATO. He thinks that he can bully Ukraine into a deal by immediately withdrawing arms support and let Europe pick up the pieces. This is indeed the challenge that the collective European states now face as the USA abandons its position of defenders of democracy. Will Europe take up the challenge in defending Ukraine with muscle rather than rhetoric?

History tells us that bullies continue to bully unless they are stopped. WE thought that was only Putin but now I fear that is Trump too

JD Vance just put the final nail in America’s coffin as leader of the free world, certainly NATO. Then refuses to meet with the official German Chancellor but meets with the leader of the far right AFD.

Great for China, only outward-looking genuine superpower left and eyeing up Taiwan. If Putin can get most of what he wants in Ukraine then it’s a green light for China.

Hopefully this is to blindside Putin over Ukraine. Crazy stuff even so. Trump just had a spontaneous call with Starmer and Mark Burnett. It’s like a mad man theory in reverse - Hegseth and Vance are ultra aggressive bad cops but Trump is the better cop bringing more reason. Doubt that’s the reality but seems to be the public presentation.

Election deniers, conspiracy theory nuts and insurrectionists lecture the old world about democracy.

Take your nasty little far right populism back over the Atlantic. And stay there. But we’ll have your top scientists and health experts come to Europe to work in a more pleasant atmosphere as you clearly don’t value them.

Let’s keep Europe clean of this junk - the WW2 veterans will be let down if we don’t kick fascism out again.

I'm not sure about that. They're still a superpower, the issue is who's with them. NATO will soon be gone, but that probably exposes Europe more than the US. They've softened up India who'll arguably be a more relevant anti China ally than Europe, and I'm interested to see what Australia do. I'm not sure where exactly he's going with Russia, but I think there'll be a warming of relations and they'll use tariffs to their advantage. Canada will be left a tad exposed in my view. He's an absolute loon.

Yes I did change it to leader of the free world and NATO on reflection. Canada sandwiched between a hostile USA and China, and the Baltic in Putin’s sights. And of course Russia and China share long sections on border.

Obama had a pivot to focusing more on China than Europe for different reasons but not trying to dismantle western civilisation in the process.

Trump said at his press conference today that he doesn't know if China is part of BRICS. Perhaps he thinks that the 'C' stands for Chad.

You have NEVER condemned them and ALWAYS defe3nd them by bringing up actions of whites, churches etc. That is a fact. You have never yourself condemned them, this is why I say you support them as you only ever use whataboutery to defend what they do by telling us all the bad things others do.

How about going back to the other thread where you very strangely claim i dragged you back into my world, when my post did not ,mention you what so ever? Care to go to that thread and explain or were you trolling again?

As the public backlash against DOGE gathers momentum, several Republican Senators have come out and supported Musk's crusade against Government spending, "But I will fight to ensure the cuts don't happen in my State".

This is what will trip Musk up because he doesn’t understand politics, or human beings in general, even in a Darwinian country like that. The same singular focus on whether they think their family budgets might get a few more dollars in them a week got MAGA re-elected (added to a hopeless Democrat party) will also mean enough GOP Senators look after their own interests and re-elections despite the warm, empty words about DOGE.

An erudite take.

When you think back to last summer and the 80th anniversary of D-Day, that shows you how tone deaf Vance’s pitch for the Presidency in 2028 was. Trump has backed it public because he can’t do anything else but I suspect behind the scenes he was going ‘FFS, you’re the VP’.

This shows the true face of Project 2025, which they couldn’t have done without Trump getting them back in, and Vance is a leading figure in the drafting. Trump clearly doesn’t give a shit about NATO or European security, we knew that, but Vance’s speech could’ve said ‘China is a real issue for us, and we can’t decimate Russia because they have a long border with them. But Europe has to pay more for its defence, we can give your forces some air cover but on the ground it’s up to you’.

Same outcomes but lands totally differently. Instead, all we hear is ‘we want Tommy Robinson, Le Pen, Orban and fascists leading every government’. OK for an immigrant to decimate the Federal Government though if he’s also a white supremacist and billionaire. Not what our grandfathers fought for in the 1940s, so much for the party of patriots. Although most genuine GOP left the party a while ago.

South Africa fought on the allied side, and Churchill intended to keep the Empire.

Trump's megalomania has no limits

https://time.com/7221538/donald-trump-kennedy-center/

"Over a matter of days, the President dismissed Kennedy Center board members appointed by Joe Biden to six-year terms, named himself the chairman of the governing body, and installed a loyalist, Richard Grenell, as its interim leader. On Wednesday, his total takeover of that institution seemed complete: a board entirely of Trump appointees unanimously made him the chairman, empowered, in effect, to police the artistic choices being made on the de facto national stage."

Not great to see Vance cosying up to the AfD. So much who are trying to pretend that the far right are not a threat across Europe. They clearly have the support of the new administration in the US.

Bit like weak people like you who pretend that mass, uncontrolled immigration isn’t also a threat to Europe

Ok I thought I could take the moderately nuanced middle ground between reasonable immigration controls and supporting the Nazi successor party. I didn't realise it was a binary choice.

That is the reality when Europe (and the UK) sits back and does very little to stop, probably millions, just arriving on the continent.

Not so much corruption as Congressionally approved spending from previous Governments that Elon and Donnie disagree with.

Look at what they’ve done to the NIH. Going to reduce the volume of high quality clinical research by cutting indirect cost rates to 15% with a ripple effect worldwide and other populist pillocks will look at it. Only the very wealthiest Ivy League will be in the game now to cross-subsidise.
