Of course, a peace deal in the Middle East is a good thing, but we will have to see if it actually solves any of the underlying issues in the region. As for Ukraine, unfortunately any deal is likely to sell Ukraine short and give Putin enough to claim his invasion was justified, ( not that anything short of NATO boots on the ground would likely give any other outcome ). I suspect that Trump will come in full of bull and bluster, throwing his weight around and upsetting lots of people. But then reality will set in and things will tone down as the US economy fails to meet the fanciful targets he has set, ( zero inflation and massive tariffs ), international relations have to take account of other countries' priorities, and his autocratic tech partners start to realise they aren't in control of all of his strings. 3

Expand Of course the timing is down to the change in President but it could be more down to Biden wanting to get it sorted before he left or Netanyahu wanting to suck up to the next President than Trump's negotiating skills.
