captainchris Posted 17 June, 2018 Posted 17 June, 2018 Shaq just not good enough. Hadn’t looked at him for while and wondered if he had greatly improved given the recent hype over him. Sadly he hasn’t at all.....
OttawaSaint Posted 17 June, 2018 Posted 17 June, 2018 I agree Ekon, though shaq isn't my cup of tea. I think C.F. prefers coffee being Kenyan and all.

BotleySaint Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 Would be worth a gamble for 12 mil. But we don't tend to waste money on maybes.. except the 19 mil on Carillo.
Matthew Le God Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 Would be worth a gamble for 12 mil. But we don't tend to waste money on maybes.. except the 19 mil on Carillo. Why have you classified him as a "maybe"?
saintsmike25 Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 Worth a gamble at £12m? he's worth at least 25 to 30 in today's market. Proven quality, gamechanging ability, can win games, international class.

BotleySaint Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 Why have you classified him as a "maybe"?Just my opinion but I don't think he is consistent enough or necessarily what we need. Is he better than Tadic?
Matthew Le God Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 Just my opinion but I don't think he is consistent enough or necessarily what we need. Is he better than Tadic? He scored more Premier League goals than Tadic (or any other Saints player) last season, but why does he have to be better than Tadic? They could both play in the same team.

They could both play in the same team. Agree Tadic and Shaq are completely different type of players. Personally i'd rather have Tadic as he brings more to a team, but Shaq would be a better attacking option than Redmond, JWP etc
a1ex2001 Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 Shaq just not good enough. Hadn’t looked at him for while and wondered if he had greatly improved given the recent hype over him. Sadly he hasn’t at all..... I think he is a decent player just massively let down by his lack of fitness in this day and age it is pretty unforgivable for a pro footballer to not look after themselves and be in pretty much peak condition!
Micky Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 Temperament - when Stoke needed Shaquiri he went missing, when we needed Tadic he delivered.
Heisenberg Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 Temperament - when Stoke needed Shaquiri he went missing, when we needed Tadic he delivered. 100% mate Tadics 3 goals and 1 assist in our last 25 games vs Shaqiris 6 goals and 2 assits really support that view

Business end of the season: Shaqiri - 1 goal in ten - went missing when it mattered. Tadic - 3 goals in nine - stepped up and drove the team on. Temperament.
Tamesaint Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 100% mate Tadics 3 goals and 1 assist in our last 25 games vs Shaqiris 6 goals and 2 assits really support that view Hang on a minute. Mickey said that Shaqiri went missing when Stoke needed him most. In the last 7 matches when Stoke were battling against relegation and needed him most Shaqiri contributed 1 assist. At the same time over our last 7 matches Tadic scored 3 goals. I think that shows who went missing .... and it wasn't Dusan. Anyone would think that you were not a true supporter of Southampton by the way that you distort statistics to knock the club and our players .

Why pick the last 7? why not look over a season where Shaqiri stats are better? Or 2nd half of season where he's better? Why not look at the last 3 games when it really matters? Again Shaqiri has better return.
Tamesaint Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 I picked the last 7 because the point which was made was that he went missing when Stoke needed him. A relegation battle and the last 7 games is surely when a player is needed.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 18 June, 2018 Posted 18 June, 2018 Has he signed yet? In a Skacel sort of way you understand.
SuperSAINT Posted 21 June, 2018 Posted 21 June, 2018 Can they not play together? Looks like this problem is solved.
East Kent Saint Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 Shaqiri saying that he's flying the Kosovo flag on one boot Swiss on the other which adds extra bite to today's match against Serbia and Tadic !!

captainchris Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 Just no-not good enough for us and not in Tadic’s class. Continuously runs into dead ends without releasing the ball...
whelk Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 Just no-not good enough for us and not in Tadic’s class. Continuously runs into dead ends without releasing the ball... Lol but good enough for Liverpool though eh.
danjosaint Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 Imo I'd rather Shaquiri than tadic, both can be frustrating as f*** but Shaquiri has that little extra in his game
sainttomski1 Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 Yes sign him up damn it Sent from my SM-G901F using Tapatalk
Cabbage_Face Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 And that’s what Shaqiri can do. Lazy thou. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
beatlesaint Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 How people can say he’s not good enough for us is beyond belief. If/when Tadic goes he is just what we need. Hes no Nathan Redmond of course

shurlock Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 Tbf it is only saintsweb plums saying that. He isn’t coming here. And Gary Neville.
stevy777_x Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 Just no-not good enough for us and not in Tadic’s class. Continuously runs into dead ends without releasing the ball... That comment went back to bite didn t it. On a sidenote, if shaqiri continues to impress we have no chance of getting him
Daft Kerplunk Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 All these BBC pundits suggesting Shaqiri is a good player. Absolutely no idea what they’re talking about compared with the Saintsweb experts

patred44 Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 thats what you call inflation....Swiss goal will cost an extra £5m
captainchris Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 That comment went back to bite didn t it. On a sidenote, if shaqiri continues to impress we have no chance of getting him He heard me!
Matthew Le God Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 (edited) thats what you call inflation....Swiss goal will cost an extra £5m He reportedly has has a min fee release clause, Stoke can not raise his price if that is true. Any club that makes a bid at the level of the release clause automatically has the bid accepted. There is no need what so ever to bid higher. Edited 22 June, 2018 by Matthew Le God
saintsmike25 Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 Guess he's a gamble at £12m... International class like i said earlier. Both him and Tadic are class, the issue is set-up, Serbia/Switzerland both set up their teams to make the most of flair like players and both Tadic and Shaqiri were superb.
EBS1980 Posted 22 June, 2018 Posted 22 June, 2018 Liverpool or us I reckon Sit on the bench playing back up to their front 3 or play week in week out for us?
