Most inspired substitution

Well, sticking Gabi on for a centre back has to be right up there in my opinion.

What are the others that spring to mind?

Super Ken for Dia?

Against us, the one I remember is Kevin Philips on his return for Brum. Dogs abuse for what seemed like 15 mins while he warms up. Jogs on. Scores.

Can only be one:

17 years ago tomorrow likeable chap comes on, showing a few added pounds, moments later the ball comes to him just on the edge of the box, where he does what he had been doing for years, spins, hitting the ball sweet as a nut on the volley past the flapping keeper, who has no chance. Bang Saints 3 Arsenal 2.........grown men reduced to tears.

All day long being the last game at the dell made it even sweeter

Makes me emotional just thinking about it. Daft old sod.

A good selection! Rickie is definitely in there if we're allowed to include matches not involving Saints, but is it allowed?

What about Le Tiissier coming on vs Wimbledon in 1999?

Three brilliant ones, also like the Rickie vs City one, and would also say Rickie off the bench against Chelsea to bring us back to 2-2. God I love that bloke.

I have a dim memory of us beating Birmingham City 4-3 in the Championship. I think Bradley Wright-Phillips came on and scored within about 45 seconds.

That was a great game. I think it was the game Davis and Baird got into a little scuffle towards the end as well.

3-0 up....almost threw it away.

Like others, MLT's winner against Arsenal. Remember buzzing for the next 24hrs and absolutely destroying an exam I had the following day. Only thing now that still makes me spontaneously teary-eyed.

It wasn't an inspired substitution. Great moment and great goal.

But he was always going to come on as a substitute to say farewell to the Dell.

Changed the game undoubtedly but not surprising sub to come on.
