Bruno Fernandes, William Carvalho and Gelson Martins bid to terminate Sporting Lisbon contracts and put Premier League clubs on red alert:

That looks very messy, not sure whether a player can just terminate his contract.

Sporting will hold their registrations, and might not give them up. Could all end up at tribunals and stuff.

Similar thing with Steven Davis when we signed him, we had to pay Rangers in the end I think.

Fulham after Calum Chambers, surely a decent option for us?

To further add to Mattio's post above:

FULHAM INTERESTED IN CHAMBERS:

Fulham have reignited their interest in Arsenal defender Calum Chambers, according to Sky sources.

The 23-year-old was one of their top targets last summer along with his then Gunners team-mate Lucas Perez, who returned to Deportivo La Coruna.

Chambers, who has three years remaining on his Arsenal contract after signing two-year extension last year, is high on their list again this summer as the Whites look to build a squad that can survive in the Premier League next season.

Arsenal are reshaping their own squad this summer under new manager Unai Emery and head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, and it remains to be seen whether Chambers is part of their plans.

West Ham in advanced talks to sign Fabianski.

WEST HAM CLOSE ON FABIANSKI

West Ham are in advanced talks to sign Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and a deal is close, Sky Sports News understands.

Fabianski played in all of the Swans' Premier League games last season and is in Poland's World Cup squad for this summer's tournament in Russia.

But he could be on his way out of the Liberty Stadium, with new Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini looking to bolster his squad.

Spurs bid for Grealish

More on Grealish...

Tottenham have offered Aston Villa £15m for their highly-rated midfielder Jack Grealish.

The north London club has been one of a number of top clubs who have scouted the England U21 international, who continues to attract interest after an impressive season in the EFL Championship.

Villa value their prized asset at closer to double that figure – and could be more interested in a bid from Chelsea - especially as it’s likely to see the 22-year old loaned back to the Championship club for next season.

However, despite their precarious financial state, senior sources at the club believe they may not be forced to sell their star academy graduate.

The midfielder was not among Spurs' original list of transfer targets but has emerged as a potential signing due to Villa's financial difficulties. Fulham and Leicester are also keen on Grealish.

West Ham closing in on Fabianski and in for Diop at Toulouse.
Diop's going to be a monster of a CB. £17m for a 21 year old who will go for £60m+ in a couple of years. Very good business.

Disappointed we haven't seemingly been sniffing around.

Sounds like a Levy low-ball offer to me, trying to take advantage of Villa’s financial issues.
And rightly so. Why pay a penny more than they have to? If Villa want to turn down cash they desperately need to stay afloat, under the deluded impression that they're in anything other than a weak negotiating position, more fool them.

Diop is exactly the kind of Van Dijk replacement we need. Unfortunately it seems that Les is sitting on his hands. Can see this being another poor window

Going down if it’s another poor window. Come on Hughes, let’s play the press and make Reed actually do some work, put him under some pressure in public. He even might ask his wee YTS intern to submit some email offers for him

I mentioned Diop numerous times and got ridiculed.... Him and Julien would be decent additions...

You had one reply to your post, is one reply saying this really count as a "ridiculing"?

Issa Diop and Julien get it done :)

With all due respect, what exactly is this based on?

Signing both centre backs from Toulouse, who stayed up via a relegation playoff, seems a bit odd...

Arsenal / Everton / West Ham all interested in Gotze.

PL TRIO CHASING GOTZE

Arsenal, Everton and West Ham are all interested in bringing Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze to the Premier League.

The golden boy of Germany’s 2014 World Cup-winning team has struggled to maintain the form that took him to Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich in 2013 as one of the most accomplished attacking midfielders in Europe.

We understand Marseille and Valencia are also keen to sign the 26-year-old and Dortmund will be keen to recoup the vast majority of the £22m they paid Bayern last summer to bring him back to Signal Iduna Park.

Burnley bid £25m for Dawson & J-Rod.

BURNLEY BID FOR WEST BROM DUO

Sky sources are telling us that Burnley have made a combined bid of £25m for West Brom's Craig Dawson and Jay Rodriguez.

Burnley made the bid on Tuesday but it is expected to be rejected.

The Clarets could go back with an improved offer but it’s thought it won’t be too much higher than their original valuation.

@SkyKaveh: Sky Italy: West Ham close to agreeing deal to sign Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson for £27m. More talks planned tomorrow

More on Anderson/WHU deal...

WEST HAM CLOSE TO ANDERSON DEAL

West Ham look to be close to finalising a deal with Lazio for Felipe Anderson.

Representatives from both clubs met in Rome yesterday to agree a fee in the region of £26m - plus 20 per cent of the fee from a future sale.

Our colleagues in Italy believe Lazio sporting director Igli Tare will fly to London today to conclude a deal.

Anderson is keen to move to the Premier League and personal terms are close to being agreed on a deal worth a reported £80,000 a week.

Frustrating when there is all these decent players who are reachable all going to rival clubs while we sit and twiddle our thumbs...Ok...Gotze and Martial possibly out of our range but we just seem to be doing nothing...

Evans, Dawson, Fabianksi, Anderson, Gotze, Diop, Martial....

Is very true...they will. Think West Ham will be best of the rest next season. They have the free stadium so can plough money into their side.

They always seem to win the 'transfer windows' and 'rumour mills', but very rarely take this through to the season. They're a funny club and there are still huge issues internally there - it's still wouldn't take much to have fans pouring onto the pitch again as last season. They're a tad fragile.

I always avoid making predicitions on how teams will do based on players they are 'linked to' or trying to sign.

Yeah, they leak far too much info about top players & then end up with Nordtveit & Feghouli. Got a feeling the Pellegrini arrival will mean they will actually end up with some top class players. Time will tell, though.

Double Hammers update (Fabianksi & Mawson)

HAMMERS CLOSE TO FABIANSKI

Sky sources understand West Ham United are edging closer to the signing of Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Negotiations continue between the clubs over a fee and the structure of the payment and we are told there won’t any issues on the personal terms. Fabianski has a year left on his Swansea contract.

TALKS CONTINUE OVER MAWSON

Sky sources understand talks are continuing between West Ham United and Swansea over the transfer of defender Alfie Mawson.

It is thought both parties are edging closer to an agreement over a fee. Swansea have rejected one bid from West Ham United already.

Not saying that West Ham are a model club by any stretch of the imagination, but their owners at least appear to be attempting to engage with the frustration of their fans.

Maybe if our fanbase presented their grievances with a little more anger and a little less apathy, Les might feel obliged to come out from his ivory tower. Judging by the sluggish start to this transfer window, that’s not happening any time soon.
