Micky Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Captain, please. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk I wouldn't be adverse to this. He gets stick from some on here for some reason, but when I watch him play I don't see the same faults. I just see a guy give 100% every game, pure effort. I know, it's not all about effort and that should be a given, but he is decent in the air and can tackle, he's also a handful in the oppositions box at set pieces too. People say that he has a mistake in him but that's true of any player you care to mention. Though I love the guy, thought Bertie was a little quiet as captain, I'd give Maya a go.
so22saint Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 I'd like to see him put a word in the ear of Inui - though it's another midfielder ;-)
angelman Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 That Japanese dressing room doesn't surprise me at all. I used to work for Japanese and they are a proud race who are still full of respect for others. On the pitch, they might not have been the best, but by God they are a unified team. And it was appreciated as well. I had an email exchange with a Japanese contact and he wrote "As our team did their best, fans are so satisfied".
Saint_lambden Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 I'd like to see him put a word in the ear of Inui - though it's another midfielder ;-) Already signed for Betis.
Cabbage_Face Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 So, whats everyones feeling on tonight? I think we will revert back to England of old, when in theory we should just have a go. England to score first and lose by one goal.

England to score first and lose by one goal. Hate to say it, I'm not confident either. We haven't played any quality yet, smacked 5 past a poor side which can give a false sense of confidence. I'm fearing a revert to type and suffering a close fought defeat - next plane home.

ALWAYS_SFC Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 I'm expecting a walk over, Kane 3x If he gets the freedom of the six yard box again he might get two 2 yard head/tap ins but i suspect he wont get so much freedom
benjii Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 It's a hard match to call. I think we will play at our level (I think this group is relatively unencumbered mentally), which is ok but not great, so it depends whether Colombia turn up or not. If the Colombian attackers play to their potential I would expect them to score at least twice against our poor backline.

The Cat Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Based on nothing more than blind optimism I'm going for a 3-1 win in extra time.
Charlie Wayman Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Based on nothing more than open-eyed pessimism I'm going for a 3-1 win to Columbia in normal time.
igsey Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Weren’t too respectful to the POWs Ridiculous, asinine comment. Same as comparing Thomas Mueller to a Nazi. Idiot.
St.Patrik Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Hey don´t forget Sweden will play first - vs some country that is impossible to spell correct - but Americans do to mix Sweden with this country very often : )
Batman Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Ridiculous, asinine comment. Same as comparing Thomas Mueller to a Nazi. Idiot. LOL
Lord Duckhunter Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Ridiculous, asinine comment. Same as comparing Thomas Mueller to a Nazi. Idiot. He’ll be moaning about their Kamikaze defending for the Belgian winner next. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
LeBizzier69 Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 90 minutes of Tyldesley could potentially ruin a great night for English football.
shurlock Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Phil Nelville, Alex Scott and Jermaine Jeanas on the bbc. You can tell which side of the draw Switzerland-Sweden is on. #dreamteam

shurlock Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Not heard P.Neville much this World Cup. Does he still put on the horse whispering voice when at a game commentating? Yep. He’s also turned into a try-hard version of his brother.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Sweden & Switzerland are dog shi t. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
East Kent Saint Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Shaqiri seems to be crossing in Cedric mode !!
DT Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Based on nothing more than open-eyed pessimism I'm going for a 3-1 win to Columbia in normal time. I've gone with 2-0 Colombia. 17/1, Betfair
Ohio Saint Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 I may be a happy Clapper for Saints, but in the case of England, stone-faced pessimism is the only way to go.
whelk Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 He’ll be moaning about their Kamikaze defending for the Belgian winner next. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Tbh quite enlightening by your xenophobic standards. Guess right wingers like order and cleanliness
whelk Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Ridiculous, asinine comment. Same as comparing Thomas Mueller to a Nazi. Idiot. Someone making sweeping generalisations as to what a respectful nation they are. You probably are happy to airbrush it from history Suspect you have never talked to any survivors but as a nation they shown capable of severe brutality and cruelty. Btw fans also collected litter in the stands which might give you a bigger hard on.

Dark Munster Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 If you bump into any Japanese whatever you do, don't mention the war.
Heisenberg Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 This game will mark 7,312 days since we last beat Columbia Got a funny feeling we will pinch this one* *cheeky insurance bet placed just in case COYE
Dark Munster Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 England 1 Colombia 1 England lose 4-2 on penalties Very understandable prediction given our appalling history in that respect. However, by all accounts Southgate is taking penalty practice very seriously, unlike the previous generation of moronic English managers. Not that it guarantees anything if it gets to a shootout, but I think this time we may actually have a chance.
Batman Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 we will win. This is not Rooney's england and now that lump has moved on (along with others) we seem a different (better) side Kane is miles better and he will score or at least be involved in a goal for us 3-1 to England
St.Patrik Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Get in Sweden - come on now England !! We want you on Saturday
waylander Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Watched Sweden/Switzerland - two very ordinary teams, nothing to fear there for England
shurlock Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Dealt a cruel cruel blow, but what class. This is a tweet from a FIFA coordinator Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk That's nothing. If it had been the scousers, they would have left the place spotless - fixtures and seats included.
shurlock Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Sterling starts. Young keeps his place. No surprises.
shurlock Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5 Spurs bottlers - exactly what is needed.

whelk Posted 3 July, 2018 Posted 3 July, 2018 I'm predicting the full Kirsty MacColl. I’m a fan but need that one explaining
