benjii Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Even if a defender does touch the ball doesn't mean it can't still be a penalty. Yes, I know that.
Cabbage_Face Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 To get them ‘in the right mood’. It’s a bit like getting BBC radio newsreaders to wear evening dress. I think they should wear bikinis. Lol, yeah. Be better if it was done live from a Refs house, kids screaming in background "shut up im trying to make decision here" Also do you think they have whistle, cards and foam spray stuff?
Whitey Grandad Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Even if a defender does touch the ball doesn't mean it can't still be a penalty. Ball before man is not a foul.
shurlock Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Ball before man is not a foul. Wrong. Did you actually referee pal?
Lets B Avenue Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Wrong. Did you actually referee pal? And if so, was it in the past 30 years?
whelk Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Ball before man is not a foul. Hard to fathom how anyone can not agree that was a foul. I hate VAR generally but that was a clear pen.
shurlock Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Hard to fathom how anyone can not agree that was a foul. I hate VAR generally but that was a clear pen. Clatts in his Crucible-finest, silk waistcoat just said it was a clear penalty - that the defender got a slight touch on the ball was irrelevant as Griezmann was caught in the second phase of play, even if it was a split second later.
Whitey Grandad Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Wrong. Did you actually referee pal? Yes, many times, and I'm right chum.
shurlock Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Yes, many times, and I'm right chum. F**k me. No wonder this country's standard of refereeing is in the toilet

Aye according to common view on here when you win the ball in a tackle you might as well chin the opposition player afterwards as nothing to lose as ref can’t give a foul as ‘you got the ball’ And Clattenberg is something else. He is a candidate for celeb Love Island. Think he is blowing all that Saudi cash on make overs Edited 16 June, 2018 by whelk
striker Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Every WC I find myself rooting for Iceland. I don't know why, I just can't help myself.
Cabbage_Face Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Every WC I find myself rooting for Iceland. I don't know why, I just can't help myself. This is the first ever World Cup for them.
whelk Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Every WC I find myself rooting for Iceland. I don't know why, I just can't help myself. A sweet story but watching their style of football takes some doing.
benjii Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Every WC I find myself rooting for Iceland. I don't know why, I just can't help myself. Very odd indeed considering they've never qualified before.
benjii Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 I'm rooting for Burkina Faso this year, as with every Word Cup.
Cabbage_Face Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Iceland are great, must be so hard to play against.
striker Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Very odd indeed considering they've never qualified before. Yep that was a mistake. I was thinking Euro's obviously. The Iceland goalie is playing great, keeping them even

Lighthouse Posted 16 June, 2018 Author Posted 16 June, 2018 France got lucky with both of their goals. Australia played well until the final third of the pitch I think Saints have shown over 2 years just how easy it is to look good in 2/3 of the pitch if you have no interest in final 1/3. It’s no real achievement.
Mosin Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Cmon messi do a Ronaldo. For my bet pls he seemed very selfish today, number of times he was to busy trying to go past ppl when better options was available
Cabbage_Face Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Messi always tries to hard for Argentina, they are average side anyway.
Mosin Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Messi always tries to hard for Argentina, they are average side anyway. Average? Argentina? LOL Pretty much every player on for them would walk into the England team and they are Average
verlaine1979 Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 #SistoWatch Not covering himself in glory thus far.
simo Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 #SistoWatch Some decent runs so far , not sure about this ref though lots of soft free kicks being given !
nta786 Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 I'm rooting for Burkina Faso this year, as with every Word Cup. Well their capital city is always asked to be spelt in the Word Cup
Cabbage_Face Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Average? Argentina? LOL Pretty much every player on for them would walk into the England team and they are Average England are ****e. So not a good example of a side to use.
shurlock Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 VAR was right on that occaision VAR has been right every time. Not VAR's problem if a ref refuses to have an incident reviewed.
Lighthouse Posted 16 June, 2018 Author Posted 16 June, 2018 Didn’t realise Cueva was half English. Good use of VAR.
OttawaSaint Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 All Peru players went to Cueva at HT to say “chin up” or words to those effects. Are you watching, Liverpool?
Batman Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 VAR has been right every time. Not VAR's problem if a ref refuses to have an incident reviewed. fair point
doddisalegend Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 I've only seen the last 30 mins but Peru have been pretty entertaining to watch.
Batman Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 I've only seen the last 30 mins but Peru have been pretty entertaining to watch. terrible up front the whole game
benjii Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 I'd rather watch Peru than Denmark or Iceland at any rate.
shurlock Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Denmark v.lucky. Peru good value for a point, if not three. Maybe the PL can hire the Gambian ref, put Moss and the other joke refs out to pasture.
OttawaSaint Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 terrible up front the whole game No one wanted to take the chance and shoot the ball, loads of clear shooting chances only to pass to someone else in a worse position.
shurlock Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 Cabbage Face up for this one - big super eagles fan.
Mosin Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 England are ****e. So not a good example of a side to use. If you think 12th in the world ****, then you sir, have very high standards. I would have thought 12th out of 206 teams to be pretty dam decent to be honest.
Batman Posted 16 June, 2018 Posted 16 June, 2018 (edited) Another penalty... few of these so far and another good call from the ref It was the sort of decision we would not get let’s say.... at Arsenal Edited 16 June, 2018 by Batman
