Great to not notice the ref last night, shows that he had a great game.

He is without a doubt the best ref in the PL. Very calm, and although I was a tad concerned when I was told his wife was a Pompey fan, he was fair and decisive

 

He was 100% correct in the CL semi final and that took great courage,.

Yep - good performance, no nonsense, ignored a few dives both ways which I always like. And didn't play the big I AM with the stoppage time either. Unlike Billy Big Balls Moss.

Thankfully there weren't too many controversial incidents last night. A couple of dodgy handball shouts but nothing seriously troubling.

6 mins felt short tbf. Given refs typically play 3-4 mins injury time, it felt as if Bednarek was down for longer than 2-3 mins.

I think Oliver is the best. Doesn't seem to be an "ego" ref like Mike Dean (or Clattenberg) and is fitter and more consistent than the duffers like Moss and Marriner.

Said to Mrs JBS from my safe haven behind the sofa, that Mr Oliver seems to have a handle on the gravitas of the game and is refereeing it in a manner that is reflective of that, in fact you hardly noticed he was there.
