Wurzel Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Seeing the reactions of the players at the end of both the Everton & Swansea games don't think we can ever again suggest they don't care. Clearly they are as one as a team and care about the club, if only the last two managers had been able to find a way of getting even half of that level of enthusiasm out of them. Got to keep Hughes for another season.

Got to keep Hughes for another season. They clearly cared about something. I had always thought that Gabby could score a lot more goals if he were made to feel special. Perhaps the same could be said for some of the others. It was certainly good to see them so passionate though.
pangy Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Celebrating the fact they won’t be taking 50% pay cuts next season
Crab Lungs Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 They were grossly mismanaged for more than three quarters of a season. Never doubted they care, just needed a proper manager to organise. Oh and Alex McCarthy helped. A lot.
hypochondriac Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 I always said it was mainly the abysmal managers that have been the problem.
DuncanRG Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Absolutely right. It's always been about confidence and mental strength.
saintroyt Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Yeah agree but who appointed the previous managers and did not react or pass comment about getting it wrong ,not once but twice sorry les time to go with dignity.ego shouldn't be bigger than the welfare of the club
eurosaint Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Clearly the players have reacted positively to Hughes’ style of management (well, apart from Boufal) ! It would be a travesty if he doesn’t get the job with a 2 or 3 year contract IMO ! Personally I don’t want another foreign manager who talks a load of sh!t and nobody can connect with !

Yep agree with that.

Got to keep Hughes for another season. Of course, they care - doesn't mean they care about the club or anything we might value as supporters. Clearly they care about their professional reputations and careers.

Boufal is probably sitting at home tonight thinking what the hell have I done. I'm pretty sure that MH will probably try to reintegrate him, perhaps even against City, but the players will know that he doesn't bow to prima donas. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Pilchards Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Some will want out as they have ambition but no player wants to be associated with relegation. Great to see the spirit tonight.
OttawaSaint Posted 9 May, 2018 Posted 9 May, 2018 True. Anyone who’s had a great manager at work and then a ****ty micromanaging toss pot will know how it can crush your spirit for the job.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 9 May, 2018 Posted 9 May, 2018 Let's not get carried away, some of them have been a ****ing disgrace most of the season . Actually, I'll rephrase that, most of them have been a ****ing disgrace all of the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chickendippers Posted 9 May, 2018 Posted 9 May, 2018 Loved Hojbjergs reaction to the fans singing. Just stood there and appreciated it. Magic scenes.
Saint_clark Posted 9 May, 2018 Posted 9 May, 2018 Looked like Bertrand was joining in with OWTS at the end? Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk
