Saint Fan CaM Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Our back three are so flaky that we cannot lose Hojberg or Romeu from CDM. That means Redmond and Tadic need to step up to the plate much more and play the match of their lives. Austin just needs to actually try hitting the target but not the Keeper. They are playing like the home team...against Everton WE played like the home team, so the question is, can Hughes now inspire them to play without fear? Unfortunately I can’t see where the goal(s) are coming from to win this game. And if they score first, we will lose.
Wes Tender Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Although the two best chances fell to us via Austin, it must be said that Swansea have been the more industrious team when it comes to pressing and harrying. Tadic is working hard, and Austin has done his bit tracking back. Redmond had two chances to put through a killer pass to Austin, but on each occasion his touch has been far too heavy. Why can't he do that properly? The defence is worrying, because we have the worst record in the PL for defending crosses and this is being exploited by Swansea. Effectively we are without Yoshida, our most experienced CB, and have the still fairly raw Stephens who isn't good in the air, the mistake prone Hoedt and the only recently introduced, but fairly solid Bednarek. I am not filled with confidence. McCarthy on the other hand is a rock, thankfully. Romeu is walking on eggshells with his yellow. I think that at some stage, Long would give us extra pace and intent, which might tip the ballance in our favour.
nta786 Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Get shane on- he may not score often but he did it for Ireland against Germany- we need some magic like that. I am so nervous, but 0-0 at half time is not a disaster. Come on SAINTS.
obelisk Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Redmond has looked a bit lightweight. We need him at his best. Not sure I can bear the tension.
Vancouver Saint Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Excruciating this. Poor performance from us first half I thought...very nervy, second to most 50/50 balls, Hoedt and Stephens a liability...Tadic hasn't touched the ball, Romeu looks sluggish and now on a yellow...Austin a good volley, otherwise meh... ...time for a major kick up the arse...this game is screaming for a touch of class...bring Gabbi on for his runs and a pivot in the box to score the winner! Come on your Saints!
Saint_clark Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 What the **** Tadic you were ahead of your man, no need to cut back!! Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk
Micky Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Crap start. The rocket obviously misfired. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Plastic Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 What the fûck is with this 'I need 10 touches before I pass' mentality? It's infected the whole bloody team.
Saint Billy Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 This is excruciating. Another very large whisky needed I think.
Saint_clark Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Hoedt pushed the lino there...flashbacks to prutton...he's very lucky... Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk
angelman Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 I blame the Marriot group. Never going to stay with them.
Dalek2003 Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Hope we win, but the reality is, we are very poor team.
5string Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 I just had to clean up a **** after the cat had made a mess. Now I know how Hughes & McCarthy feel.
Saint Billy Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 I think the last gasp goal at Everton has done us mentally.
Mallagroth Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 We are not even attempting to pass the ball to each other half the time, Its just wild clearances most of the time.
St Chalet Posted 8 May, 2018 Author Posted 8 May, 2018 What odds Long off the bench to score the winner. Long
Dalek2003 Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 I think the last gasp goal at Everton has done us mentally. Maybe..but they must know a win will do it tonight.
CB Fry Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 So it looks like we're going to spend the rest of this half desperately fending off Swansea City, the team currently third from bottom of the league. Christ.
Plastic Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 We don't win this, we are gone. It's incredible that we a making so many square and backwards passes. Incredible.
shurlock Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Get a grip midfield. Please take Redmond off and bring Sims on.
Gingeletiss Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 (edited) Redmond really is not a footballer! Edited 8 May, 2018 by Gingeletiss
SNSUN Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 One piece of quality and one piece of luck. Thats all we need to win this game... Good skills Cedric
Victor Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Redman really is not a footballer! No, she's an actress.
5string Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Why didn't Cedric lay it off to the player on the edge? Ok, corner.. ... cleared behind. Again. Bugger! Austin! Surely?!
