Alain Perrin Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Let's trip advisor the #### out of this place.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5701161/Southampton-turned-away-Swansea-hotel-virus-clash.html Terrible place, they cancelled my booking without notice..... https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186466-d192327-Reviews-Swansea_Marriott_Hotel-Swansea_Swansea_County_South_Wales_Wales.html
Bad Wolf Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Good idea! I'll sign up later. Filthy cheating bastards. I liked Swansea till now.
farawaysaint Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 What in the bollocking ****** is this ******? Furious tbh.
Monk Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Think it’s time for a few drunken wind up calls. So have fans had their reservations cancelled?
OldNick Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 If Swansea go down the Marriott will lose a lot of business, hence I suspect it may have been a decision from the top.
Bad Wolf Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 If Swansea go down the Marriott will lose a lot of business, hence I suspect it may have been a decision from the top. I reckon they will anyway. Not sure if this is the standard venue for away teams' players and staff but what club will want to stay there after this?
trousers Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Think it’s time for a few drunken wind up calls. They have a free booking cancellation policy up to 24 hours before arrival. Would be a shame if the Southampton fan base block booked a load of rooms for the foreseeable future and cancelled them at the last minute.... Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
sandwichsaint Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Utter joke, if Swansea can't host switch the game to Cardiff. (not sure if serious but seriously peed off!)
Saints4Prem Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 I am afraid I could not give the hotel a good rating on trip-advisor they need a visit from Health & Safety !
Saint86 Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Pretty silly tbh. This will backfire on Swansea at the end of the day. Will just focus the players' minds even more.
sandwichsaint Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Pretty silly tbh. This will backfire on Swansea at the end of the day. Will just focus the players' minds even more. Yes if we win it will all be forgotten .... if we don't win then we'll never know the effect of the disruption on our pre-match routine and an hours-plus coach ride in rush hour traffic. Low move by them.
Barry the Badger Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Yes if we win it will all be forgotten .... if we don't win then we'll never know the effect of the disruption on our pre-match routine and an hours-plus coach ride in rush hour traffic. As much as it's annoying, I'm pretty sure the players will cope with an extra hour on their incredibly luxury coach.
simo Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 I've reported it to the environmental health , Them viruses can be nasty don't want anyone catching it now do we !
Shroppie Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 I've reported it to the environmental health , Them viruses can be nasty don't want anyone catching it now do we !Very public spirited and correct. Can only hope they get closed down. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
ooh it's a corner Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Three pages of 1 star reviews. Very funny and not one response from Serban V. the front office manager. His last post was against a complaint from a customer whose room was not ready because Chelsea FC had stayed the night before and too many rooms had been vacated on the same day, with not enough time/staff to ready them. Perhaps he just doesn't like the agro of a 40 room get out, caused by premier league footballers coming to town. Bless. I bet they are wishing they'd just honoured the booking...
Matthew Le God Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 (edited) If Swansea go down the Marriott will lose a lot of business, hence I suspect it may have been a decision from the top. Would they lose a lot of business? Championship teams and Championship away fans still need places to stay. 23 Championship games vs 19 Premier League games in Swansea for the 2018/19 season. If anything they'd have more business if Swansea went down with 4 extra league fixtures! Edited 8 May, 2018 by Matthew Le God

Saint Ian Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Looks like said reviews have miraculously disappeared!
St.Patrik Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Lol in business it takes a long time to build a good reputation but seconds to destroy it - welcome to the dark side Mariott Hotel : )
Doctoroncall Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 If Swansea go down the Marriott will lose a lot of business, hence I suspect it may have been a decision from the top. I wonder if they were worried something might happen which they couldn’t control?
manji Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Can’t confirm it but a few people have suggested it’s Fake News. It is the Daily Mail after all.
manji Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 It's also in the Echo and the Telegraph. Well the Echo just cut and paste from other papers. The Telegraph makes it more credible.
Tamesaint Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Perhaps it is a blessing that the team are staying away from Swansea. It would be bad if the team went down with a mystery tummy virus just before kick off as happened to Spurs a few years ago before a big match. Knowing the animosity between Swansea and Cardiff it is probably much safer for our team to eat food ptepared by Cardiff fans than Swansea fans.
Saint86 Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Checked on trip adviser and their are no reviews from the last 2 days? Assume they have had them deleted?
Saint Garrett Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.marriott.co.uk ?
trousers Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 (edited) They're taken them all down. tossers. There's always Google Reviews.... https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Swansea+Marriott+Hotel/@51.6137203,-3.9464097,17z/data=!4m7!3m6!1s0x486e8ab49338a0b1:0x927675fd7a0f0c1b!5m1!1s2018-05-20!8m2!3d51.613717!4d-3.944221 Or their facebook page.... https://www.facebook.com/pg/SwanseaMarriott/reviews/?ref=page_internal Edited 8 May, 2018 by trousers
Matthew Le God Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 They're taken them all down. tossers. Trip Advisor clearly can see it as suspicious as it is so soon after the nationally reported incident. If Saints fans all through the next few months give 1 star reviews without making it obvious it is connected with recent events then Trip Advisor will probably leave them up.
Scully Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 As amusing as this is I advise everyone to be careful not to fall foul of defamation laws
Dark Munster Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 Perhaps it is a blessing that the team are staying away from Swansea. Stud mark of doom Posted 8 May, 2018 Posted 8 May, 2018 It’s presumably a high quality hotel. 2 and even 3 star reviews over a period of months or years wouldn’t look too good.
