Toadhall Saint Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Brilliant job done by Roy Hodgson Can’t argue with that.
Pamplemousse Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Brilliant job done by Roy Hodgson Yup, deserves a lot of credit. Did something similar with Fulham about a decade ago too.
Jimmy_D Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 One result our way... Opens up a few more options for us to stay up as we don't have to worry about Stoke sneaking back up now.
Window Cleaner Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 One result our way... Opens up a few more options for us to stay up as we don't have to worry about Stoke sneaking back up now. But if they're down already won't they be less motivated against Swansea?
kwsaint Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 But if they're down already won't they be less motivated against Swansea? works both ways. how many times do teams get relegated and then start to play well because there's no pressure on them?
Bad Wolf Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 But if they're down already won't they be less motivated against Swansea? Could go either way. Less motivation can mean more freedom.
shurlock Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Brilliant job done by Roy Hodgson They've got some very good players at this level - they understand to a tee that pace and power is the great leveller in PL.
Pamplemousse Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Come on Leicester and Bournemouth!!!!! Newcastle winning would still put Watford in the mix too.
Jonnyboy Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Safe to say come Tuesday 10pm we will have a very good idea whether we will go down or not.
Bad Wolf Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Safe to say come Tuesday 10pm we will have a very good idea whether we will go down or not. I think we'll have a good idea in five hours tbh.
Jonnyboy Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Can see Watford, Swansea and West Ham all winning today. Sorry.
Bad Wolf Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Begavic makes two great saves from two Swansea players...Guess who one of them was?
OttawaSaint Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Cherries are ****ing me off I know eh? Getting into great positions and then taking an age to shoot or cross.
OttawaSaint Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Watford 2-0. Any small worries they had are now gone.
Dark Munster Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Sometimes teams perform better when the pressure is off. I remember Newcastle were already relegated and they beat Tottenham 6-1 in their final game! 5-1 I think, but anyway Spurs had nothing to play for either. In fact they had just lost their chance of finishing first with a nasty draw against Chelsea, so were completely deflated. OTOH Swansea will have everything to play for (unless we're already down by then).
OttawaSaint Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Pretty much as we knew. 1 from us, Swans or Hudds. Bournemouth score!!!
Pamplemousse Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Let's be honest. If we're staying up, it's Huddersfield going down. We need them to lose all 3 (very possible), and us to win a game. Us winning is not so likely given our season and 3 very tough fixtures. Would be a tense final day, they could get a draw v Arsenal. But Wenger's final game, you'd have to hope they go for it. It's our best chance. I agree, although it'd be good if Swansea are still in the mix. Even though on paper they have favourable fixtures, they're in really bad form at the moment
OttawaSaint Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Wish we’d try stuff like that. Great move for the free kick. Swansea seemed so relieved that they hadn’t conceded a pen that they switched off.
suewhistle Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 I wonder what they're saying on the Stoke boards.. "anyone who appoints Hughes"...
OttawaSaint Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Oh man, this Swans vs Saints match is going to be huge. Are we up to it?
SW5 SAINT Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Gutless Leicester. Cant help thinking our match against Leicester was a real missed opportunity.......
nta786 Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 these types of threads have never managed this many replies! in past 5 years we have rarely been reliant on other clubs!
Dalek2003 Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Leicetster imploding, but Swansea defeat more important. Com on Bmf !!!
striker Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Ha ha, Swansea sucks. We are much better than they are.
OttawaSaint Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Puel really got a grips with his side it seems Puel doesn’t do March/April/May...
Batman Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Puel doesn’t do March/April/May... Leicester have had 2 shots, none on target in the 1st half
Jonnyboy Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Go on you cherrrrrieeeeees Why care, you said a couple of weeks ago we are dead and buried.
nta786 Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 I wonder what they're saying on the Stoke boards.. "anyone who appoints Hughes"... http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/279192/throw-swansea-game-southampton-relegated lol. if swansea lose this I reckon Hughes will set up for a point tonight tbh. because that point would take us above them and mean Swansea might attack us more for the game on Tuesday. if swansea win then we might just go for it tonight.
OttawaSaint Posted 5 May, 2018 Posted 5 May, 2018 Why care, you said a couple of weeks ago we are dead and buried. You actually pay attention to what that plank says?

If Swansea loses we need at least a draw. A win would be great for our matchup with Hudds, but we need at least the draw to pull ahead of Swansea.
