nta786 Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 I'm buying a keeper top tonight with McCarthy on it. absolute hero.
BotleySaint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Why did Hughes take off all our attackers and invite this pressure!!
OttawaSaint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 yeeeeessssss FT!!! Get in My sincerest condolences.
Suhari Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 YES!!!!! And look at the passion from the players!

Pamplemousse Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 ****ING GET IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ohio Saint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Get the duck in!!!! You celebrate by acquiring a duck!!!???
saintsmike25 Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Okay - we have given ourselves a fighting chance, Everton and Swansea both must-win but are winnable. Man City we could get a point on a good day. I think we'll get a further four points from our next three we will go down but it will be tight.
OttawaSaint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Even without the goals Tadic was immense today. Where was that all season? Also, Cedric, his passing is terrible but that man does not stop running. He clearly cares.
Mr Saints Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 ****inghell, so tense. Massive. McCarthy immense all game.
Norm Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Phew! My nerves at the end! Happy to say my forecast was 2-1.
OttawaSaint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 (edited) Celebratory w4nk I think. Edited 28 April, 2018 by OttawaSaint
Suhari Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Just wow. I'd forgotten what winning felt like. Good performance at times.......too much hanging on for my liking though! Couple of good goals. Really pleased by the passion shown when the final whistle went. Perhaps some of the players do care?! Now - come on Chelsea.
5string Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Blimey that was nerve-wracking! Fantastic win - much needed. Well done, boys!
Pamplemousse Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 I said Bournemouth were rubbish. Never got going in the second half, and they kept giving the ball away.
aintforever Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 **** me that was tense!! Great result, start of the great eascape?
badgerx16 Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 So that is called a win ? Does that count more than a draw ?
Pamplemousse Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Huddersfield are now in major trouble. They won't get any more points, one more win for us and we're safe.
Dalek2003 Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 1 win under our belts, three to go. As I said recently, I will stick with my prediction of 17th.
Bewildered Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Excellent result, hopefully the players can take this result and kick on for a strong finish. The other good thing is Huddersfield lost, their last 3 matches are absolutely brutal. Man City (A) Chelsea (A) Arsenal (H) Not unreasonable to think they won't get any points from those games.
OttawaSaint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 I need a pint. At this stage a pint is not enough, we need 3 pints.
austsaint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 That last minute McCarthy save :poundit: Yep, McCarthy the match saver, Tadic the match winner and Lemina more than a match for any other midfielder on the pitch. Hope lives on another week!!
Saint_clark Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Huddersfield are now in major trouble. They won't get any more points, one more win for us and we're safe. You keep saying this but they've beaten more top teams than us this season. Arsenal and Chelsea are vulnerable and certainly not guaranteed to beat them. Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk
qwertyell Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 That was excruciating - one of least enjoyable Saints win I've ever seen. Hanging on for dear life for 30 minutes at home to Bournemouth, for goodness sake. It shows what we've become. But it's a win. I vaguely remember those from the olden days. It's hard to imagine we can take any confidence from the performance, though. Tadic, Lemina and McCarthy came up big for us today. Credit where it's due. We're still alive. One more win might even be enough - Huddersfield aren't getting any more points. We march on? Limp on? Shuffle slightly forward? Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk
ashnats Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Huddersfield are now in major trouble. They won't get any more points, one more win for us and we're safe. no, because I've been reading on here that we are already down. I don't think stoke will get the points, so huddersfield (and Swansea, West ham) are completely safe. maybe you've not been paying attention, because it's been common knowledge on here that we were relegated ages ago.
DT Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 We won because I studiously ignored all scores until just now. Never fails Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
nta786 Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Huddersfield are now in major trouble. They won't get any more points, one more win for us and we're safe. easier said than done. we never get a win at Goodison, they're still a decent team and at best I see a draw. Swansea, now this game is so so crucial, both teams need that win and in those situations it can easily turn into a draw. Man City at home- well if it comes down to that I can only hope that in 2005 it was United who took us down, and this time it would be City... I wouldn't be confident in getting something there... however, the win will do wonders for confidence and we have a decent chance after today. come on saints.
Suhari Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Huddersfield are now in major trouble. They won't get any more points, one more win for us and we're safe. My thinking too. Very tough for them now.....but then they might fluke a win against an off form Arsenal. Squeaky bum time.
bazza Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Well thank his for that! Hanging on a wee bit at the end (that was some save by McCarthy) but a well deserved 3 points today.
OttawaSaint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Huddersfield are now in major trouble. They won't get any more points, one more win for us and we're safe. We need to catch them.

The thing is we need 3 points minimum, even in the best scenario, were Huddersfield lose all their last games.

Arsenal and Chelsea are vulnerable and certainly not guaranteed to beat them. Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk Wenger's last ever league game, no way are Arsenal going to lose that one. Chelsea are in good form, and Man City are, well, Man City. It's looking bleak for them, they had to win this one and they ****ed it up.
mrfahaji Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Can almost - almost - forgive Cedric for never ever putting in a decent cross due to his effort at the end. A few 'smart' fouls from our team at the end befitting a Mark Hughes team. Lemina had a great first half, bizarre how he can swing from one extreme to the next, maybe he just needs good man management. Tadic my outfield man of the match, irrespective of his goals. Felt he played a bit like a captain second half today. Always calm on the ball, was the hub of anything good we did going forward. But there were a few saves today which put McCarthy in the frame for MoM and strengthen his claim for player of the season!

warsash saint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Anthony Taylor what a **** !! Last time at St Mary's against Stoke ..... plays 1 min of injury time despite subs & time wasting when we needed a goal. So where does the **** find 5 mins this time??

Arsenal finishing 6th is pretty much in stone now as well. ofc Arsenal will be favourites. but it's about us getting that win first.
View From The Top Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 We just have to keep playing with that sort of passion. It's been missing all season.
ButtikonSaint Posted 28 April, 2018 Posted 28 April, 2018 Winner winner chicken dinner... Three more of the same, boys! Tadic, we missed you, where were you? Mario, strong, focused... Defense, better... McCarthy, genius... MH and staff keep up the good work... Saints fans at the stadium great support
