5string Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 (edited) Anyone got a stream? http://ripple.is/football/2551-chelsea-vs-southampton-2 Edited 22 April, 2018 by 5string whoops
Saint Albert Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Fans starting it off in good voice. Come on you Saints!
5string Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Big occasion players need to step up to the big occasion. Our players, that is.
Saint Albert Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 That was a very dangerous counter. Willian hits the crossbar.
5string Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Romeu ffs! But where was the cover? Length of the field break there - can't let that happen.
Edmonton Saint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Chelsea hit the bar after its given away by Romeu
DT Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Great atmosphere here. Not enough pressing so far though. Should be our game plan. They get rattled Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
OttawaSaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Too many giveaways by 2 of our better players. Can't do that against Chelsea.
5string Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Just noticed no Boufal in the squad. Probably discussed on another forum, but ... injury or illness? Back to the game - Willian & Hazard are energetic; need to contain them. Yoshi. What a tackle!
verlaine1979 Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Promises to be a very long afternoon if the pattern of the first ten minutes continues. Barely had a kick.
5string Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Kante cons ref. I thought so at first - replay shows it was a foul.
Saint Albert Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Dangerous free kick for Chelsea...Willian puts it over.
OttawaSaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Just noticed no Boufal in the squad. Probably discussed on another forum, but ... injury or illness? Back to the game - Willian & Hazard are energetic; need to contain them. Yoshi. What a tackle! no boufal = no party. The resident FB Moroccans will not be happy.
Saint Albert Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Just saw a replay of Yoshi’s tackle on Hazard...that may have saved a goal. Cracking tackle.
5string Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 We have to get some serious possession under our belts. Push up & give them some pressure. Maybe even get a shot on goal.
BotleySaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Losing the ball from our own throw ins.All season !
OttawaSaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 I thought so at first - replay shows it was a foul. in real time it looked like he went down before the tackle but yes you are correct, replay told a different story.
qwertyell Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Five at the back, three holding midfielders, an acre of empty pitch for Chelsea to play in, two isolated strikers. Tactical genius Hughes must wonder how we're getting utterly dominated. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk
Viking Saint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 no boufal = no party. The resident FB Moroccans will not be happy. Hughes deciding it's a luxury he can't afford at this stage??
striker Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 We have a very defensive setup, even with 2 strikers on the pitch. Austin seems to be dropping pretty deep, and the mids are basically our best defending mids.
OttawaSaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Hughes deciding it's a luxury he can't afford at this stage?? I usually get pilloried for this but I think Ramirez was far better.
scotty Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 in real time it looked like he went down before the tackle but yes you are correct, replay told a different story. He saw the tackle coming, slipped the ball sideways into empty space, and ran into the tackle. Cleverly done to buy the free kick.
DT Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Lemina needs to put a bloody shift in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
striker Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Burnley just barely missed the game winner at the whistle. 1-1 Final.
Dalek2003 Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Stoke and Burnley draw. Over and out for Stoke. Wham defeated.
John B Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Don't feel very confident about this game Pretty strange team
Saint Albert Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Lemina puts a shot on target. Not a hard save for the keeper.
OttawaSaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Burnley just barely missed the game winner at the whistle. 1-1 Final. Stoke players all on the turf, some of them in tears.
BotleySaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 We sometimes get in good positions but no-one can pass or play a decent ball.
striker Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Thats the game plan, hit Long over the top. Austin is playing deep, and out there for some more scoring punch in the chance we get some possession. Otherwise he's really playing midfield.
OttawaSaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 We sometimes get in good positions but no-one can pass or play a decent ball. we keep pumping it to long, but even if he gets it charlie is wheezing and chugging along over by the half way line. Don't understand why we didn't go with Sims or Redmond to help keep up with Shane.
5string Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Quite a few empty seats in the saints end Lots of criticism happening online for that. Must say I'm surprised there are so many empty seats. Ticket prices? Protest? Expecting defeat? Cba? Or do we not have that many fans?
BotleySaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Don't understand why we didn't go with Sims or Redmond to help keep up with Shane. If we do get a chance though I'd rather it fell to Austin than Redmond tho
DT Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 We're pretty terrible tbh. Just no ambition or even work rate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
verlaine1979 Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 There's not a lot of pleasure in watching us these days, is there? Since the game is so dull, what was the last genuinely enjoyable period of play from us? I think probably the last 10-15 mins in the home game against Everton. Pretty much everything since then has been unremittingly grim viewing, win or lose.
OttawaSaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 If we do get a chance though I'd rather it fell to Austin than Redmond tho thats true. Tough selection headache to have.
adrian lord Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Tepid game, tepid atmosphere. 40 or 50 years ago you would’ve been able to cut the atmosphere with a knife and both sets of fans would’ve been in full voice throughout. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DT Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Hoof. Hoof. Hoof. Slow. Hoof. Slow. Hoof Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
saintsmike25 Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 This should be a game where these players get themselves up and try and attack and make a statement, instead they treat it like an afternoon stroll and don't seem too bothered if they attack.. it's almost like a bad training session.
manji Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Just noticed no Boufal in the squad. Probably discussed on another forum, but ... injury or illness? Back to the game - Willian & Hazard are energetic; need to contain them. Yoshi. What a tackle! Boufal had a ruck with Mark Hughes about being left out the first team Thursday so Hughes left him at home . Obviously continuing.
