ecuk268 Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 Lost his dad at 18. Bayern seemed to do a lot to help him. https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/pierre-emile-hojbjerg-guardiola-bayern-munich/
Maggie May Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 Very intelligent and grounded lad. Sad we won’t be able to keep hold of him.
SuperSAINT Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 team cpt next season. I hope so. I think it would actually do his career the world of good. (Biased opinion from me of course) Please tell me we've done some groundwork in how we're going to approach it next season!
Suhari Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 team cpt next season. ITK snippet? I'd be happy with that - whatever league we're in. Clear out the old-guard, start afresh.
Batman Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 I think he will stand out in the champ. I like him. Great attitude and appears to give it his all.
DT Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 Too good for the championship unfortunately. Very underrated by a lot of the people on here for a long, long time. Would be great to keep him
Lets B Avenue Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 David Prutton 2.0 Which game will he try to beat up a linesman?
doddisalegend Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 Too good for the championship unfortunately. Very underrated by a lot of the people on here for a long, long time. Would be great to keep him No he isn't if anything he is an average player who gets a bit of a free pass from fans because he talks a good game in interviews.
doddisalegend Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 Which game will he try to beat up a linesman? Ideally last seasons league cup final...
Lighthouse Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 A very promising player being poorly managed IMO. Remember how bad Schneiderlin and Lallana when we got relegated to League 1? Along came Pardew, Adkins and some quality team mates and they were decent players. Him and Romeu should be a rock solid midfield duo but it just hasn't happened. Yet.
VectisSaint Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 No he isn't if anything he is an average player who gets a bit of a free pass from fans because he talks a good game in interviews. Correct. He also won't stick around if/when we are relegated. Bayern's cast-offs do not play in the Chumpionship.

Lallana & Morgan both good examples of being managed well, but then also being surrounded by big personalities & experience.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 Here's another article, credited to a different writer, based on exactly the same interview: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/apr/20/pierre-emile-hojbjerg-bayern-southampton-chelsea-fa-cup-semi-final-guardiola Bizarre!
Pamplemousse Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 Look at some of the players Wolves have in the Championship this season. No reason why we can't keep Hojbjerg.
SKD Posted 21 April, 2018 Posted 21 April, 2018 Look at some of the players Wolves have in the Championship this season. No reason why we can't keep Hojbjerg. Wolves is a very unique situation. I’d probably compare us to Newcastle (all be it they are a much bigger club) when they kept hold of their players.

Yes I agree, I was just illustrating that going down doesn't necessarily mean we will lose all of our better players.
Dark Munster Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Yes I agree, I was just illustrating that going down doesn't necessarily mean we will lose all of our better players. If we have an owner who's prepared to spend the required dosh. All indications are that Mr. Invisible has no such intention. Hope I'm wrong.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 I like the cut of this lads jib. He gives everything on the pitch and has an admirable care about the job he’s employed to do with the employer he’s contracted to. If he stays (i.e. Reed doesn’t sell him in panic) he will stand out in the Championship.
Saint Albert Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Wolves is a very unique situation. I’d probably compare us to Newcastle (all be it they are a much bigger club) when they kept hold of their players. The Newcastle Championship season was something I’d hoped we could emulate. For some reason I thought they only lost Wijnaldum to Liverpool but then I looked it up, and there was Sissoko to Spurs (can’t believe I forgot that, it was very entertaining), Janmaat went to Watford, Cisse to China and a few others. So I’m expecting departures but hopefully not the entire starting 11. I think Hoj would be a great one to keep for the Championship.
Toussaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 David Prutton 2.0 Wish you hadn’t said that. I recall Prutton missing an absolute sitter at the Hawthorns during the relegation season, which had it been scored could have turned the whole season.
doddisalegend Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Another complete non performance from Hoj today.
Greenridge Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Another complete non performance from Hoj today. You seem a tad obsessed with PEH. There would be plenty more deserving to vent you anger at before getting to him.

What two posts (make that three now) on a player thread is obsessed now? but you are right there are plenty of players who deserve the fans scorn Hoj's thread just happened to be near the top of the page though so..
LaptopSaint Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Nonsense from where I was sitting. He shouldn’t have been subbed imo
egg Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 Nonsense from where I was sitting. He shouldn’t have been subbed imo I thought he faded and taking him off ahead of Lemina just about right but could have been one or the other, and the change of tactics was sensible.
S-Clarke Posted 22 April, 2018 Posted 22 April, 2018 He needs to stop giving the ball away. That's one thing he's always managed to do well. There's obviously talent there - somewhere - but he needs to show it. At the moment he's just a walking soundbite for the fans to lap up.

Doesn’t hold the ball and hold off the opposition as well as Redmond, for example.
adysaint Posted 10 May, 2018 Posted 10 May, 2018 bet365 odds on the Danish Elections. Anyone fancy a flutter?
Turkish Posted 10 May, 2018 Posted 10 May, 2018 David Prutton 2.0 He lives near me and see him in the gym regularly. His lad was in there the other day getting changed after swimming and was wearing a saints top. He's a top bloke is david Prutton, always has a chat and very fond of saints. Gareth Southgate also goes there and he's a lovely fella too. Always chats to my lad when he seems him, he's only 5 and doesn't really understand what it means to be the England manager except he should play for England because he's the fastest and can beat Ruben and Henry and Lightning McQueen

Lucky boy you got there Turkish!
doddisalegend Posted 5 October, 2018 Posted 5 October, 2018 Seems the Danish national manager has noticed a change in Hojs attitude. Southampton player now acting for team “and not just himself”, http://sportwitness.co.uk/southampton-player-now-acting-team-not-just-turbulent-time-club/
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 October, 2018 Posted 5 October, 2018 He has potential, him and Lemina could be very good.
Heisenberg Posted 5 October, 2018 Posted 5 October, 2018 He's probably realized that the stepping stone is higher than he initially thought
tajjuk Posted 5 October, 2018 Posted 5 October, 2018 This was a guy playing for Bayern Munich at 17, so he clearly always had talent and he's also physically well suited to centre-mid, so it was just about him being more consistent on the pitch, good he is finally showing it. If he comes it up we'll probably be fending of clubs higher up again.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 5 October, 2018 Posted 5 October, 2018 Would like him to be our captain in the future.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 6 October, 2018 Posted 6 October, 2018 Interesting comparison of Hoj's stats from last year compared to so far this season.
Bananaman Posted 6 October, 2018 Posted 6 October, 2018 Interesting comparison of Hoj's stats from last year compared to so far this season. says it all
DRAGONZ_RULE Posted 22 October, 2018 Posted 22 October, 2018 Easily been Saints best player to start the season. Hopefully he keeps this form up and the rest of the team comes along for the journey.
Dusic Posted 22 October, 2018 Posted 22 October, 2018 He is doing well to setup his next move. Fair play to the lad.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 22 October, 2018 Posted 22 October, 2018 He is doing well to setup his next move. Fair play to the lad. Snipe if a player does badly and snipe if a player does well...... brilliant...
benjii Posted 22 October, 2018 Posted 22 October, 2018 He's definitely improved this season, so fair play to him.
Saint Garrett Posted 22 October, 2018 Posted 22 October, 2018 Yup been our standout so far this season. Long may it continue!
SuperSAINT Posted 22 October, 2018 Posted 22 October, 2018 He is doing well to setup his next move. Fair play to the lad. We need more of those.
doddisalegend Posted 22 October, 2018 Posted 22 October, 2018 I'll admit to not being a big fan of his the last couple of seasons. He has stepped up this season though so fair play to the lad. 4-4-2 does seem to suit him.
Suhari Posted 22 October, 2018 Posted 22 October, 2018 Showing more strength, more desire and has the confidence to shoot now. He's going to become a very decent player for us.
