I there are not relegation clauses it is proof of the arrogance of those at the top thinking they would not be needed.

People took our Premier status for granted. We ****ed it away in 2005 and now again.

Would be nice if someone from the club had the decency to inform us as to how bad the financial situation will be next year, it’s us ****s that will be asked to chuck money in a bucket if it all goes tits up again.

How does he know?

I think he described it as a rumour he'd heard. As above, he does have a slim connection to the club due to his stint commentating for south coast radio during the 90s.

If anyone drafts a contract for any club without a clause in then they need horse whipping. It would make no difference to any fcker signing

Did anyone else hear Jim Proudfoot say during today's commentary that only a few of our players have relegation clauses?
Did you hear that we signed VVD to a 6 year contract 2 years ago?

When he said it, I assumed that the commentator was talking about relegation release clauses rather than relegation wage clauses. He certainly didn’t clarify or provide his source.

For some reason it reminded me of Rupert Lowe bragging in 2005 about relegation wage clauses leaving us well set to avoid financial difficulties after our last PL relegation.
