Ross Wilson is the Chief Football Officer and Sporting Director at Nottingham Forest.

Given how well they are doing... perhaps he isn't as incompetent as many in this thread believed!

People will judge him on his record here. His record here was mostly shit, so him doing a good job at Forest doesn't suddenly change how his spell here is looked upon.

Crap with us crap with Rangers doing well at forest doesn’t change what he didn’t do before that

Not really true. Whilst it is a 2 horse race, this is not 'crap'...

Winning an historic 55th league title, their first Scottish Cup in 13 years, their run to the Europa League final and a return to the Champions League for the first time in 12 years.

Was he the manager?

That doesn’t answer the question

No, he was not the manager. But that and your question is completely irrelevant. I was questioning you saying he was crap at Rangers. What is that claim based on?

I'd say a good % of their fans, just have a read up on their views on him. He was hated up there, lumbered them with a load of crap.

He may be pulling off some good things at Forest, but like others have said that doesn't automatically abstain him from his time here - where he quite frankly started our decline and financially handcuffed us with players like Elyounoussi, Vestergaard and Carillo to name a few.

What about the flip side? van Dijk, Romeu, Hojbjerg to name a few more positive signings. All of which went on to huge clubs.

I thought VVD predated Ross Wilson. Having checked though, he didn’t. That said, I doubt Wilson was the one who brought that deal with him in his first weeks with us.

Wilson joining in March 2015 to van Dijk joining in September 2015 is more than his just his 'first weeks'. Sure Koeman likely has had a big influence, but Wilson was overseeing transfers and had been at the club for quite a few months before van Dijk arrived. So if you criticise him for the bad signings, you should also credit him for the good signings under his watch.

I read he joined 1st July ( Transfer Market website).

We'd have been watching VVD long before Wilson was even interviewed I expect, these things don't just happen over a handful of games.

I recall he was linked from the time Koeman arrived (2014)

Regardless of previous scouting and Koeman link, Wilson was still in charge of recruitment and would be responsible for giving a green light to a deal. If you criticise the bad players we signed during his time, you should be consistent and praise the good ones he green lit for signing.

It still requires Wilson giving it the green light to go ahead. If you criticise the bad signings, be consistent and praise the good ones he green lit.

You didn’t mention Wilson just green lighting the transfer in this post less than an hour ago. The story changes as you go.

With that in mind, I will criticise you for this bad post and I should credit you for some of your good posts in the past.

What are you suggesting I've not been consistent about?

This is the part where you focus on one tiny aspect of a discussion and try and “win” in the smallest way possible. It’s childlike behaviour.

I think you will find that is exactly what you've done.
