Three days before the cup semi-final. Not doing us any favours. Assume that this is TVs doing
No and yes, partly. TV wanted to show the Chelsea game that week and only Thursday was free. Chelsea not keen, so to appease them, PL said we have to play the same night too. To be fair, obviously.

What would have happened if we'd been on TV on Thurs?

Any news on the Swansea game yet?
Probably being saved for the night before the Cup Final, if we get to Wembley.

It's just the PL pandering to Chelsea.

Obviously wouldn't have happened if the boot was on the other foot.

Its the PL pondering to TV. Chelsea won't want to be playing Thursday either.

Although it wasn't originally selected for TV, there are some murmurings that Sky want to pick it, and so it might be played in the midweek before the final game of the season.

Ta muchly. That’s one game I particularly want to go to, I’ve missed the last couple of seasons.

Disappointing if true but no real surprise that a club's fortunes are scheduled and possibly decided by arranging fixtures for the media rather than when the clubs agree to sensibly play it.

Hopefully if they do reserve it as a "relegation decider", results mean when it is eventually played both clubs need a point to stay up, and two under strength teams play out an uninspiring 0-0 bore-fest for the watching world.
