DT Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 I think we should give Hughes a chance tbh. I think he could be good for us.
sadoldgit Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 Given that that some people wanted Pellegrino out after 8 games, isnt it a bit previous to say Hughes no matter what? I know that this is Saintsweb, but judging after one game???

If you had watched his frightened rabbit in headlights on haunches at Wolves game you would have been worried too! Edited 21 March, 2018 by Give it to Ron

Lastman73 Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 Anybody that’s capable of doing a good job and keeping us in the premier league. Not bothered who it is! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint Albert Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 So far Hughes has said some reasonable things in the media and had one decent half of football against L1 opposition. Waiting until the end of the season before making a long-term call on the next manager seems prudent to me.

EBS1980 Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 If he keeps us up, he’ll get the job. If we go down, he’ll get the job.

SW5 SAINT Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 If he keeps us up, he’ll get the job. If we go down, he’ll get the job. If he keeps us up, he could well be head hunted by someone else...........
Convict Colony Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 Andre Villas-Boas, Peter Bosz, Marco Silva or Thomas Tuchel
John Boy Saint Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 Nigel Pearson. Very little chance, think he has golden handcuffs of some sort at Leurven as they are owned by King Power Thais
Matthew Le God Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 If he keeps us up, he could well be head hunted by someone else........... Can you give a potential example club for that scenario?
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 21 March, 2018 Posted 21 March, 2018 If it were up to you you'd probably still have pellegrino in charge now. More like Branfoot
saint lard Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 I would rather stick with Hughes...... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/5894294/southampton-huddersfield-mark-hughes-david-wagner/amp/?__twitter_impression=true Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If Hughes gets us out of the sh*t, we should go on bended knee to retain his services. Edited 25 March, 2018 by Wade Garrett Annoying auto-correction highlighted by Hypo
hypochondriac Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 Absolutely. If Hughes gets us out of the sh*t, we should go on blended knee to retain his services.Christ. I get we should be humble, but self mutilation is a bit far.
Wade Garrett Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 Christ. I get we should be humble, but self mutilation is a bit far. Touche.
hypochondriac Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 Fwiw I've been told by someone high up at the Echo that we want Graham Potter. Personally I'd give it to Hughes if he keeps us up as he will have earnt it.
Viking Saint Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 I think that Jokanović ticks many of Les Reed’s boxes. Brendan Rodgers would be good also. I’m not 100% convinced he wants to come here, and I have a hard time forgetting his comments about our club when he was busy swiping our players. This. can't stand the nauseating artificial tw*t. Don't want him anywhere near our club.
Viking Saint Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 If we do down, I’d love us to take a punt on Graham Potter. Completely untested at English level and not a name that's going to draw players to us.
Saint_clark Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 Completely untested at English level and not a name that's going to draw players to us. Neither was Nigel Adkins.
Batman Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 Neither was Nigel Adkins. What, untested at English level?
Saint_clark Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 What, untested at English level? A name that's going to draw players to us, genius.
Toomer Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 Lets get the great escape over and done with and worry about next season then.
striker Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 I believe if Hughes keeps us up, and the players like him, then he will stay
Greedyfly Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 Disagree on this one. Unless he comfortably keeps us up and wins the cup, then yes, I agree. I think the fact we waited so long to sack MP and that we've only given him an 8 game contract suggests that we have our eye on someone in the summer. Or at the very least want to keep our options open. (should we stay up) Personally, I think we'll go for Rodgers or Emery. (If we go down, I wouldn't be surprised if we kept Hughes - all depends on how we perform over the next 9-11 games. Is that meant as a joke or some more crazy delusions of grandeur?
Batman Posted 25 March, 2018 Posted 25 March, 2018 A name that's going to draw players to us, genius. Nigel didn’t have to ‘attract’ anyone when he was here. A gold plated squad was in place and paid very handsomely for it Which would be a different beast to anyone taking over should we get relegated
