I don't really care...was just a question on the radio...

What's amount of time on average does it takes an adult to fall asleep?

I may take a mean average of your results and enter the competition...

About 3 fingers of Scotch poured on the rocks served in a nice crystal glass while reading TSW..............

depends who else is in my bed, or who's bed i am in

Me too. It takes me a little longer to get to sleep when i'm not on my own. Also takes longer when i'm not in my own bed. It used to take ages, but since i've moved it's been a lot faster for some reason. Recently i would guess at about 5-10mins when i'm at home on my own.

So in short...are you sleeping around more or less now?

FFS how do you KNOW how long it takes?

You do know when you're still awake - I'll give you that - but you can't possibly know exactly when you went to sleep :D

You can guesstimate by remembering what was on TV when you drifted off (if you have a TV in the room of course)

Do you still have a broken sleep having to give Mr BTF his nightly feed?

Depends how ****ged out I am.

If I struggle to sleep, I generally read a paper or watch the news, as it fills my head with images which I can then dream about, an thus fall asleep more easily. For some reason I slept very well yesterday because of the plane crash in New York.

I don't know because I don't know what time I fall asleep because I'm asleep.

This is me too. So I guess it must be fast. Maybe 2-3 minutes from deliberate shut-eye? I think my brain shuts down instantly if nothing to think about too much.

It's far worse when I go to bed really late (maybe a bit ****ed) but know I have to be up again in a few hours on a school day. Then it's hard to go to sleep as I am thinking about it and the alarm clock.

My Mrs reckons that when I sit down she waits for me to get comfy and lean back. From my first deep breath to comatose can be as little as 3 minutes, by her reckoning.

Of course I maintain that I am alert and coiled, like a spring, ready for action. Except that even the kids arguing fails to rouse me!

When do you start timing it from? Is it from when you get up, or when you've finished brushing your teeth / having sex / whatever else....

Well after having sex it's usually around about the time that the woman wants to start talking...
