Another Monday, another U23's match. Unsuprisingly no Sims. No Hesketh or Alfie Jones either, so the boys will have to be very good to win tonight.

@SouthamptonFC: 1 hour until #PLCup kick-off!

Here's how #SaintsFCU23s line up to face their #Rovers counterparts tonight:

Alfie Jones being lined up for a berth on the bench vs Stoke instead of Bednarek maybe?

Probably worth wrapping him & Bednarek in cotton wool with Yoshida out.

Probably he and Hesketh have gone on the Marbella training camp.

Jack Rose penalty save, right on half time. 0-0.

He's meant to be pretty handy from what I have seen and heard (more heard if I am honest), can anyone else shed any light on his performances and potential?

His problem will be Forster's massive contract making him impossible to move on.

Is he good enough to be promoted to/potential for the first team? Forsters contract is a huge issue I agree but if we can stay up and he stays on the bench we may persuade a team coming up/going down to part of a few quid.

We seem to have a few good young keepers (including Harry Lewis on loan up in Scotland), but there is a huge leap from reserve football to Premier League. I think they would have to go on loan to a championship club for a season to prove themslves at a decent level first.

From what I've seen of Rose, he looks like a proper keeper and quite vocal but seems to let a lot of goals in. Can't see this game was on anywhere - was it?

No but they showed the penalty save and another excellent save in the second half, on the twitter feed.
