striker Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Burnley strikes me as being very well coached.
St Lej Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Cedric can’t even throw it in to one of our players. What the **** is wrong with this team? The manager is what's wrong with this team. Everyone knows it, but the board refuse to do anything about it. It's quite ridiculous
Bewildered Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 what a terrible game of football. almost take a point now Tadic Carrillo and JwP crap You forgot Redmond, Hoedt, Cedric etc...
Dark Munster Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 The Bertrand/Tadic combination was one of the most threatening aspects of our attacking play, so it's nice to see us shove Redmond out on the left with Bertrand instead Redmond on the left, Tadic on the right. What's that definition of insanity again?
IronCitySaint Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 The manager must have got a bit afraid of the recent winning and has changed the team and tactics accordingly. The players have been useless but they must be stunned and confused by the constant changing of things that are actually working.
Bad Wolf Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Sounds dull even for us. I nearly fell asleep just now listening to Solent.
Wade Garrett Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Can see us roaring out of the blocks second half after a rousing half-time talk from Pellegrino.
OttawaSaint Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 what a terrible game of football. almost take a point now Tadic Carrillo and JwP crap Played right into Burnley hands, has 1-0 written all over it and “we did good things, we must continue to believe” and other such nonsense after the game.
Pamplemousse Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 A point takes us up to 16th as it stands (and 15th if Huddersfield go on to lose), I'd take that right now.
TwoPints Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 One of the worst half's of the season and there's lots of competition for that accolade. No attempt at passing, just lumping the ball about in the hope that it reaches a Saints player which it rarely does. No attacking threat. Complete and utter ********.
mrfahaji Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 I think it was John Lennon who said "life is what happens while you're making other plans." I think a more appropriate quote would be "life is what happens while you're waiting for Southampton to play well or score a goal"
SuperSAINT Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Burnley strikes me as being very well coached. Dyche will suss us out 2nd half. Chris Wood to win it.
OldNick Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 If we were playing against Everton or a bigger named team who were where Burnley in the table, the comments would not be so negative. We are away against a tam a lot higher in the league, and so 0-0 is not too bad at present. Personally I don't care how bad we are if we nick 1 or 3 points (like they did to us)
Saint Pete Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 The manager must have got a bit afraid of the recent winning and has changed the team and tactics accordingly. The players have been useless but they must be stunned and confused by the constant changing of things that are actually working. We weren’t much better against West Brom in my opinion. Difference was West Brom are dire defensively currently and gifted us 2 goals.
striker Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Dyche will make some adjustments at the half to get more offense. Will MP?
beatlesaint Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 I think it was John Lennon who said "life is what happens while you're making other plans." I think a more appropriate quote would be "life is what happens while you're waiting for Southampton to play well or score a goal" He also said “you don’t know what you’ve got until you lose it” Aint that the truth !
austsaint Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 I hate being negative but that was an awful half of Football - no speed or creativity in attack. Would it be ok with the JWP fans if we replaced him with Sims? And bring Boufal on for Redmond.
M271 Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Dyche will suss us out 2nd half. Chris Wood to win it. I also fear this might be the case, they haven't won since Woods went out injured around christmas time.
obelisk Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Let's see if a nice hot mug of half time Marmite will help.
captainchris Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Please sack this utterly useless manager now
SaintAndy14 Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Struck down with the flu this weekend - staying awake was a huge challenge during that 1st half. How long until the big boys come on up top for Burnley and cause chaos in our box?
northam soul Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 And to think we normally get worse as the game goes on
OttawaSaint Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Just seen highlights of Newcastle. Pace, direct, energy, attacking, overlapping, players in the box. ****ing sickening that we can’t be bothered.
Dalek2003 Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Well, if we win and it's dull, then who cares. Wait until FT, this is all about the result.
SuperSAINT Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Just seen highlights of Newcastle. Pace, direct, energy, attacking, overlapping, players in the box. ****ing sickening that we can’t be bothered. Because they have a champions league class manager.
saintsmike25 Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 At least we're in the game. However Bertrand/Cedric not playing that well, so we're camped inside our half and under pressure. Hoedt/Stephens coping well but can sense a mistake isn't far away. Romeu looks clumsy, Lemina classy, Carillo has had no service. Tadic had a decent shot but sloppy in possesion, Redmond slows us down on the left, keeps cutting in and not doing anything. Burnley - limited but not having to break a sweat to look the more dominant team.
Wes Tender Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 What a bore-fest! We've not really been under that much pressure, but neither have we exerted that much pressure on them either. Our only real chance via Tadic, who has not done much else. Redmond is Redmond. Makes the wrong choices often and doesn't really offer much threat, especially playing alonside Bertrand on the left, when Tadic has often formed an understanding with Bertrand and looks hopeless instead. Bring on Hojbjerg for either Redmond or Ward-Prowse to take control of the midfield. Bring on Simms for the other one to increase the forward momentum and provide some support for Carillo, who has been totally isolated up top. A typically inept team choice and tactics from the Argie clown once again. We do have a chance of scoring against Burnley and sneaking the win, but then again, they have every chance of winning too as things are.
Pamplemousse Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 We’ve done more so far in this half than we did in the previous half!
Victor Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 If we were playing against Everton or a bigger named team who were where Burnley in the table, the comments would not be so negative. We are away against a tam a lot higher in the league, and so 0-0 is not too bad at present. Personally I don't care how bad we are if we nick 1 or 3 points (like they did to us) ,,,,, a team that has lost 5 of its last 6 and drawn the other.
nta786 Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 i feel like carrillo is how i would play as a footballer at the top level. run around like a headless chicken chasing the ball. no pace, not strong enough to win a header, haven't seen anything to suggest the guy can shoot, poor feet to even beat a man. a lucky assist against west brom last week doesn't do enough.
OttawaSaint Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 An interesting stat would be net distance of passes forward. I swear no one passes back as much as us. Our net would likely be a negative number.
austsaint Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 He has to bring Sims, Boufal and Gabbi on....for Carillo, Redmond and JWP.
mrfahaji Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 I didn't see any reason for Redmond to be singled out as poor in that first half tbh. Didn't do many good things but wasn't any more awful than anyone else.
Saint_clark Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 **** off you ****s, when you play the ball behind the player like that he has no option but ton go backwards. ****ing pathetic. Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk
OttawaSaint Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Does the JWP double bounce and hand in the air mean anything?
shurlock Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 I didn't see any reason for Redmond to be singled out as poor in that first half tbh. Didn't do many good things but wasn't any more awful than anyone else. Agree.
doddisalegend Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 An interesting stat would be net distance of passes forward. I swear no one passes back as much as us. Our net would likely be a negative number. According to the PL official site Man city have more back passes than any other team in the PL.....go figure
Simon3737 Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Gabbi and Boufal for Redmond and Tadic please......
Micky Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 Does the JWP double bounce and hand in the air mean anything? He is about to kick the ball. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
doddisalegend Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 For a team in a relegation battle our players seem particularly unbothered and lacking in any urgency.
OttawaSaint Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 According to the PL official site Man city have more back passes than any other team in the PL.....go figure But I bet they don’t work it back from the opposition’s box to the keeper very often.
DT Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 He does know you don't get allowed to stay up purely on possession stats, right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
verlaine1979 Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 So little movement. Just now when JWP picked the ball up in space on the right about 40 yards out, there must've been of our 5 players ahead of him, and they were all just standing still looking at him.
Pamplemousse Posted 24 February, 2018 Posted 24 February, 2018 West Brom are going down They deserve it for hiring Pardew
