Stud mark of doom Posted 22 February, 2018 Share Posted 22 February, 2018 Is manging the side winning at Arsenal tonight. It is the one who played for saints. Last English manager in European competition?
whelk Posted 22 February, 2018 Share Posted 22 February, 2018 Black box must have been all over him. An aside but Ozil’s salary would pay Östersund’s wage bill for 7 years. Think of that wage bill Les

Suhari Posted 23 February, 2018 Share Posted 23 February, 2018 So he's just beaten a top 6 club, with a bunch of unknowns paid a fraction of our lot. Away too. How long since we managed to beat a top 6 club? Let alone away?
St.Patrik Posted 23 February, 2018 Share Posted 23 February, 2018 He´s becoming a Hero here in Sweden not only in Football. He got the reward for manager of the year here in Sweden at the Sportsawards - and Sweden qualified for WC in Football and won worldcup in Icehockey and he still manage to get the award before those teams managers (they usually win) Also Östersund got the award for the team of the year so mr.Potter is like a fairytale of succsess here. Also Östersund as a town is a town far far up north in Sweden and not fancy at all so to that also shows how loyal the guy is.

How long since we managed to beat a top 6 club? Let alone away? Lost 4-2 over two legs, and by the sound of it, got a nice big helping from ex saint Calum Chambers who was a fault for both goals (well actually Calum scored the first one ). Sounds like a decent manager though.
Maggie May Posted 23 February, 2018 Share Posted 23 February, 2018 Potter will fail in England because he won't be given long enough at any club. He's part of everything at Ostersunds - from washing the kits to going to council meetings. That's a proper boss.
St.Patrik Posted 23 February, 2018 Share Posted 23 February, 2018 Chairman of Östersunds respons about the rumours that Potter taking over West Brom is hilarious. Why would he go to a small club was the responce in Swedish papers this morning : )
egg Posted 23 February, 2018 Share Posted 23 February, 2018 Interesting read - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41902664 Thanks, good article. His achievement there is phenomenal but working with the divas in the Premier league would be a whole new ball game.
Turkish Posted 23 February, 2018 Share Posted 23 February, 2018 I remember him as a player, I think he was signed by Souness from Stoke and one of many players we signed in the 90s who when you saw their debut it soon became apparent they wouldn't make many more appearances. He only played a handful of times and was loaned out fair bit. He done a great job where he is with a small club made up of largely failed a academy players from lower tier clubs, its one thing managing them quite another dealing with the egos of millionaire premier league players and expectations of deluded fanbases. Our fans weren't happy with Puel or Pellegrino yet they have immensely superior CVs both as players and managers to what Graham Potter has. And of course the other reason he's a million miles away from ever becoming our manager is he's currently employed so wont be on Les's current list of next managers. Doctoroncall Posted 23 February, 2018 Share Posted 23 February, 2018 There is a couple of decent articles on him in the Guardian over the last couple of months. I cannot imagine our players putting on a play! He may have other ideas to build a team from an emotional and cognitive prospective but it’s a huge risk to assume it would work here.
