John B Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 As it says Well not what I was hoping for Man City Away
Saint IQ Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 ****s sake! Thanks a lot Owen. Worst possible draw.
aintforever Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Well that’s a distraction we didn’t ****ing need.
Whitey Grandad Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 ****s sake! Thanks a lot Owen. Worst possible draw. Wigan away? What’s not to like
Saint IQ Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Man City Spurs Man Utd Chelsea in the Semis then
Maggie May Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Tbf I don't think we would've beaten any of the Prem teams left in it.
nta786 Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 well the worst possible tie ffs- unless Wigan can pull of the miracle that we certainly won't. then again, maybe pellegrino will set them out to defend in numbers, we contain them and then as there is NO replay, we beat them on penalties.
davefoggy Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 I said it last time, I will say it again, FIXED
OldNick Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Man City Spurs Man Utd Chelsea in the Semis then just what the FA want
Bad Wolf Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Why is this such a bad draw? I swear some people just have negative comments typed out before it happens and were going to post it regardless.
Batman Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 that draw was perfect for the FA how convenient
beatlesaint Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 On the plus side by the time we go to Swansea for the rearranged league match they might be safe and not care :-D
Pamplemousse Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Very convenient draw for BT Sport, who were the ones doing the draw... makes you wonder.
Batman Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Why is this such a bad draw? I swear some people just have negative comments typed out before it happens and were going to post it regardless.we are away to one of the best sides in world football. That will be that
Shandy_Top_89 Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 4 of the Top 6 in the quarter finals and they all miraculously avoid each other. Just like in the League Cup Quarter Final draw. Good thing someone remembered to switch on the ball heater eh FA .
OldNick Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 I recall an expro saying a few years back, you can fix a draw by heating some of the balls. I don’t believe it is a fix , just one of those things. anyway who would trust Owen to get anything right, dull as ditchwater and one of the reasons I won’t get BT sport
DT Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 At least we can concentrate on staying up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
whelk Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Very convenient draw for BT Sport, who were the ones doing the draw... makes you wonder. Fair old effort and cover up required for very little gain - a few more viewing figures on the semis. Hey you never know it might just be random.
John Boy Saint Posted 17 February, 2018 Author Posted 17 February, 2018 we are away to one of the best sides in world football. That will be that That’s still only a possibility until Monday night...... Wigan seem to have used the FA cup to let their hair down this season as a welcome distraction away from getting out of league one
whelk Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 we are away to one of the best sides in world football. That will be that Not like you not to be optimistic
DT Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 4 of the Top 6 in the quarter finals and they all miraculously avoid each other. Just like in the League Cup Quarter Final draw. Good thing someone remembered to switch on the ball heater eh FA . Tbh they made it look very natural. And Michael Owen isn't bright enough Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Shroppie Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 I said it last time, I will say it again, FIXEDI have to admit the big guns have had remarkable luck in avoiding each other, round after round. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Not like you not to be optimisticwe just rolled over against Liverpool and today, allowed WBA to have 20+ shots I think a valiant effort in the cup ends at City
nta786 Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 I have to admit the big guns have had remarkable luck in avoiding each other, round after round. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk also funny the same thing happened in the league cup too! glad bristol city shat on that parade tho when they beat United. let's pray that can be us when we beat City. It would also be very rewarding if we were to win this and be the ones stopping City from winning another trophy.
shurlock Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Tbh they made it look very natural. And Michael Owen isn't bright enough Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That’s why they had shay given drawing second
Lord Duckhunter Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 May 1st 1976 was a tougher ask. Even if we somehow beat city , chances are it'll be Chelsea, Utd or Spurs in the semis. Needed the big 4 to meet each other or at least 2 of them to open up the other half of the draw. Absolutely no ****ing chance of anyone outside those 4 winning it now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CB Fry Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Wigan will absolutely smash them on Monday. Then go on to beat us.
John B Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 May 1st 1976 was a tougher ask. No it was not We are away to Man City probably one of the best PL team ever We are dross in comparison
Whitey Grandad Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 well the worst possible tie ffs- unless Wigan can pull of the miracle that we certainly won't. then again, maybe pellegrino will set them out to defend in numbers, we contain them and then as there is NO replay, we beat them on penalties. No replay?
Micky Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Decent draw, good away day, looking forward to it. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
nta786 Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 No replay? nope- it was from last season they removed replays for the quarter final. Also because they removed replays for this stage of the cup, it is why they call it quarterfinals now whereas it used to be called the sixth round.
mikec Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Fair old effort and cover up required for very little gain - a few more viewing figures on the semis. Hey you never know it might just be random. FWIW the chances of a quarter-final draw where the "big four" avoid each other are 24/105 - or around 23% - so not that surprising really. (I'm a lot of fun at parties)
Shandy_Top_89 Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Tbh they made it look very natural. And Michael Owen isn't bright enough Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I guess anything would look better than the league cup where the broadcast mysteriously happened with absolutely no coverage.
Badger Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Always a chance of an upset, especially when nothing is expected of us. (okay, I know the likelihood is slim...)
Pamplemousse Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Fair old effort and cover up required for very little gain - a few more viewing figures on the semis. Hey you never know it might just be random. Oh I agree, I don't really buy into these conspiracy theories.
Bad Wolf Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 The big teams never get each other before the semis...Apart from those times they do.
Whitey Grandad Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 nope- it was from last season they removed replays for the quarter final. Also because they removed replays for this stage of the cup, it is why they call it quarterfinals now whereas it used to be called the sixth round. Ah, ok, ta. Seems a bit unfair really. The whole concept of the FA Cup is to make it as fair as possible to both sides with semi-finals on a neutral ground, for example. As it stands now a team could earn a hard-fought draw after 90 minutes and then have to face another 30 minutes of home advantage for the other team.
suewhistle Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Saintsweb more accurate than the BBC - who have us down as playing at home!
SaintStinger Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Maybe Man City will be too focused on winning everything else and put out their £500m reserve squad or something. Maybe we'll just have a real good game like last years LC final. Maybe Austin will be fit again.
mrfahaji Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 BBC are listing us as home, so was a bit confused. Looks like the BBC have just got it wrong. Amazing how poor their reporting is sometimes.
