Bad Wolf Posted 3 February, 2018 Share Posted 3 February, 2018 Stephens scoring 3 in 3 JWP scores four in four JWP scores a free kick Saints coming from behind to win a league match away from home MP bringing on an attacker when winning in the last few minutes

Pamplemousse Posted 3 February, 2018 Share Posted 3 February, 2018 He gets a bit more time. Obviously Liverpool is a free hit, and we tend to perform well against the bigger teams, but after that, we have a run of fixtures that is absolutely massive. I hope that this result gives both the players and the manager the confidence and belief that we can win against the teams around us.
benjii Posted 3 February, 2018 Share Posted 3 February, 2018 We've scored a few from set pieces, which has been the difference.

St Lej Posted 4 February, 2018 Share Posted 4 February, 2018 Pellegrino is still ****. If a good manager hadn't lost in 12 would a bad result suddenly make him a poor manager? No, much the same as one good result in a blue moon doesn't suddenly make this clown any good.

Saint_Ash Posted 4 February, 2018 Share Posted 4 February, 2018 I want us to go on a winning streak, gain lots of confidence, fly up the table and everyone starts loving MP. Also win the FA cup. Not sure this is going to happen but would be nice.

mikec Posted 4 February, 2018 Share Posted 4 February, 2018 That'd provably get him the sack. Well, a repeat of last season's "treble" is still a possibility: - 8th place finish - cup final appearance - manager sacked I suspect only one of those will happen though. norwaysaint Posted 6 February, 2018 Share Posted 6 February, 2018 Are you ****ing kidding me? I wanted strachan and I know lots of others who did When he first came? After failing to impress at Coventry where he was relegated and unpopular with fans? You were pleased when you heard he was our new manager? He worked out well, but he was an underwhelming choice at the time with a poor record, so I think "wanting" Strachan was quite a minority thing. The Strachan love largely came later. Bad Wolf Posted 6 February, 2018 Author Share Posted 6 February, 2018 I didn't follow football at the time but I've heard loads of people say they were baffled by Strachen's appointment at the time.

I was pleased we got Strachan at the time. He’d kept Coventry up for 4 seasons in a row before they eventually got relegated. Coventry and Saints were the two teams back then who used to just about survive every season, with one of us usually finishing 17th. We wanted a manager to keep us up, he’d kept a similar team up 4 times out of 5. Great appointment!
aintforever Posted 6 February, 2018 Share Posted 6 February, 2018 I was happy with Strachan, His Coventry side got relegated because they flogged their two top scorers (think it was huckerby and McCallister or Dublin), any manager would have struggled to keep them up. That said, his appointment wasn’t that well received, but unlike MP he soon won the fans over.
