Amazing. The article makes even less sense when translated into English!!

LUPOLI, the ready Southampton to take it 15.01.2009 12,48 of Conterio Mark

E' in program for this afternoon an encounter between the leadership of the Southampton and the agents of Arthur Lupoli. The player, that he has given l' goodbye to the Norwich with months d' advance payment, is always of property of the Fiorentina but the Saints seems disposed to find it from, quickly on loan oneroso. To care, yesterday, Pantaleo Corvino it does not have intentional to cant itself but it is clearly that the future of Lupoli will not be in river all' Arno.

Depends whether you translate it accurately. It just says that there was to be a meeting between Saints & Lupoli's agents this past afternoon; that Lupoli had left Norwich months early, but that Saints were ready to step in & take over his loan; and that his future doesn't lie beside the Arno (the river that flows through Florence). Good move by Saints if it's all true.

Poortaloo wont play him v Donny anyway, he'll stick with Saga and McGoaldrought.:smt078

So its "sick" that JP would stick with a "2 in 2" form striker and another one that 90% of people on here want to start...

Odd.

Arturo Lupoli currently plays his football for Norwich City in the English Championship, on loan from Fiorentina.

The talented young attacker has spent time at Arsenal, Derby County and Treviso in the past, but his immediate future seems set for a change of scenery.

In 2005, Lupoli was Arsenal’s top scorer at youth level with an impressive 27 goals in 32 appearances. His stay with the Gunners was short-lived, however, as he was eventually loaned to Derby, and then signed for Fiorentina on a free transfer in 2007.

English clubs have shown great interest in the starlet, with Southampton and Wigan Athletic at the front of the pack, but recently the Norwich player has had enquiries come in from Italy as well, with Torino in particular interested in the striker.

It is likely that Fiorentina will use the transfer window to benefit from all the requests for Lupoli, and it now seems that Southampton may soon be announcing his arrival, as Lupoli's agents are meeting with delegates from the Saints this afternoon, according to Firenzeviola.it.

Lupoli may be sold to the English south coast club before the transfer window closes, as it is unlikely that he will return to the Viola.

no but 7 league goals in half a season, two in two games is not a drought.

Remember our top scorer most seasons, about half of last 20 odd seasons, has finished on less than 13!

infact, in stato mode he already has matched the top scorer for 95/96 (MLT/Shipperley) and 98/99 (MLT/Ostenstad).

form/confidence is key thing for forward -he should start.

Lupoli linked with Southampton

DAVID CUFFLEY, EVENING NEWS SPORT

Striker Arturo Lupoli has again been linked with a move from the Canaries to fellow Championship strugglers Southampton.

The 21-year-old regained his place in the City starting line-up for the last two matches of Glenn Roeder's reign as manager after scoring the equaliser in the FA Cup at Charlton a fortnight ago, when he came on as a substitute.

Before that trip to The Valley, the Italian talked of quitting Norwich if he didn't get first team football and was linked with Serie A clubs Sampdoria and Torino.

Unconfirmed reports in Italy claimed Lupoli's agents were in talks with Southampton yesterday, though sources on the South Coast suggest manager Jan Poortvliet will be unable to bring in new faces without trimming his squad, especially after the return of high earner Marek Saganowski to St Mary's Stadium. The Polish international is back from a loan spell with Danish side Aalborg to boost Southampton's strike force.

Lupoli joined City from Fiorentina for the season in July, though as an overseas player, it was not on a conventional loan deal but a one-year contract. He has scored five times for the club in 17 appearances.

It probably means Saga is going to make way for Lupoli.

I think before White got injured you might have been right but in any case for saga to move again it would mean he would have played for 3 clubs this season. isnt there some ruling against that happening?

They were probably looking to loan white out again and get in lupoli to make sure we still have a choice of strikers but now i cant see any of our strikers leaving without some dosh coming in.

I hope you are right. With Skacel currently suspended we are short of experience in the team for the crucial matches ahead.

just reading that post from NickG its back to looking like its highly unlikly again.

Shame though cause I think he would get a run with us and do quite well where as saga (as much as i like him) hasnt had an effect with us for quite some time.

I almost wish we could scrap the lot and start again. but we cant afford to just offload the likes of saga, euell and skacel but having them all with us is restricting what we can do elsewhere.

I checked back on the Echo story on this and it said that he wouldn't be allowed to move abroad again if he plays for us (which he has) but he could move to another British club...

How many matches does Skacel miss? He's already served one, hasn't he?

One

But now he's probably suspended by the club because of his comments, bit like him being "injured" for the game before his suspension. :)

IMHO this is clearly wrong, or premature at best. If he had signed at the time of this post it would have been announced by both, or at least one of the clubs by now.

He may have been approached, or in talks but can't see how he could have been signed but everyone is keeping it a secret!

Has Lupoli signed yet?

if this doesn't happen MB is a twot FACT

Have to disagree with this mate.

More often than not, MB gets things spot on.
