SaintRobbie Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 We're 'richer' than the Skates. Form your own conclusions from that.
Colinjb Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 All three South Coast clubs on there. Sad state of affairs.
david in sweden Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 Can we make it to No.1 ? http://talksport.cerosmedia.com/1R496782495aad0012.cde YES and look who's above us ! Chelsea ..only - £736 million, Arsenal a "poor " second with -416, and Liverpool with - 350 million . Why ever do we call them the " rich clubs " ? It's only money their directors have conned out of some stupid bank, and however do they expect to pay that back ..or do they ? Just how many rich Saudi oil men are there to go round ?
Thedelldays Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 if man u are so poor how are they able to out spend everyone so far..? it is all a bit relative IMO
TheSaint75 Posted 15 January, 2009 Author Posted 15 January, 2009 I think the main difference is earning potential, ManU and alike can make millions just from shirt sales, we on the other hand will be doing the laundry for them to raise a few extra quid
Ken Tone Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 YES and look who's above us ! Chelsea ..only - £736 million, Arsenal a "poor " second with -416, and Liverpool with - 350 million . Just how many rich Saudi oil men are there to go round ? With Chelsea it's even more precarious than that. In effect all the money Abromovitch has put in is officially a loan. There is a view that he only bought Chelsea as way of having money safely stored out of Russia if he had to leave in a hurry. In any event if he loses interest they could have to pay the lot back suddenly, and no bank will lend them that much to do so. K.
Master Bates Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 Can we make it to No.1 ? http://talksport.cerosmedia.com/1R496782495aad0012.cde When I click all I really see is a woman in a bra eyeing me up and a picture of some footballer.
SaintDonkey Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 2nd most endebted Championship side? Come on Lowe spend that £400k on reinforcing the team and that coverted top spot can be ours! Or is the plan not to spend it and we'll be the most endebted side in League 1 next year? Could be a better long term plan as Pompey's relegation will set new standards of Championship debt.
derry Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 Load of rubbish, it includes the mortgage in full in the short term debt.
TheSaint75 Posted 15 January, 2009 Author Posted 15 January, 2009 When I click all I really see is a woman in a bra eyeing me up and a picture of some footballer. Click the top right corner of the page to scroll through.....to be honest the women in a bra is more interesting, but it's not a two way thing, she can't really see you
TheSaint75 Posted 15 January, 2009 Author Posted 15 January, 2009 Load of rubbish, it includes the mortgage in full in the short term debt. Is your mortgage not a debt then?? assuming you have one! The good thing is p*mpey have that debt without a decent stadium, at least we don't need to move for another X amount of years.

The debt is repayable over an agreed period, as long as that is serviced, the debt is annually small and will be paid off in time. The overdraft is, I believe, being reduced. I wouldn't be surprised to see us solvent next year. The major debt in a lot of the clubs is buying players and maintaining the huge wage bill. MU and Liverpool were bought using the club assets on borrowed money.
aintforever Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 Looking at the debts of the big 4, if the arse falls out of the TV deals, those clubs could be seriously ****ed up.
paulwantsapint Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 Less than £30million in red Rupert can clear the debt with a couple of duck shoots with his toff mates or otherwise sell 1 of the worlds top rated kids DMG to man city for bargin £35million
saintjinksie Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 Fulham was the only one that shocked me, all these clubs just 'borrow' money off their owners. when the 'owners' leave so does the money and it is all paid back, if these people were in the game for reasons other than money they would allow the clubs to have their money and not owe it to them.
TijuanaTim Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 27 big ones is not as bad as some on there...let's face it we have Prem everything besides maybe team and board currently. Beautiful Stadium, training pitches, state of the art facility at Staplewood, terrific youngsters improving weekly and fantastic fans - most of all huge potential....a way better investment than, let's say pompers...clinging to prem life with a massive wage bill, debts, an antiquated p!ss-stone of a ground, (very good tbf) journeymen pros that could gives two schits who they play for as long as the bills are paid and the WAG not whinging...zero home grown talent and no future!!!

Totally agree, especially the bit regarding the pros not caring who they play for. Thney play for portsmouth because they will meet their excessive wage demands.
CabbageFace Posted 15 January, 2009 Posted 15 January, 2009 i think Burton Albion are poorer than alot of those teams.

notnowcato Posted 16 January, 2009 Posted 16 January, 2009 "...current Conference team Aldershot Town..." Who wrote this?? Lazy, lazy tarts.
John Boy Saint Posted 16 January, 2009 Posted 16 January, 2009 Derby had a year in the prem, so had the nicer high windfall for coming last, £27m I believe, and have a parachute for the next 2 years and they are still in the poo deeper than us............ League position apart.
