alpine_saint Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Sad to be missing the first home game.........
Toomer Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 I think I would settle for a draw, Brum look stronger in every department.
Saint_clark Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 I shall be on the 12 o clock train and be in the stadium to welcome them to the pitch. First home game of the season - my favorite part of the year.
andrew40 Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 I'll be there at 1 with my daughter and son waiting for Sophie to arrive from Bath with my wife and other daughter. Mixed emotions, but looking forward to having the whole family together for the game. C'Mon you REDS !!!!!

dubai_phil Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Looking forward to getting txt weather reports from ericorarabia. Shame about the press speculation about Davies, the fans seemed to have an air of "hopefully" excitement about them before last night. Let's hope we get a big crowd, a result and something to build on
saintjay77 Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Is this game on Satanta? Cant wait for kick off. Looking forward to our kids surprising a few people. Dont think the result will go our way but if they turn a few of the pundits heads and show we have enough about us for this season I will be happy. Come on you Reds!!!!

Shame about the press speculation about Davies, the fans seemed to have an air of "hopefully" excitement about them before last night. Let's hope we get a big crowd, a result and something to build on I'm not so sure about the big crowd, I've just spoken to the ticket office, 17500 tickets sold including season tickets. They are expecting a total with walk ups of about 21000.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 If we beat Brum, I will be excited about this team
saintkiptanui Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Decided to drive today, haven't seen saints sober for years, it will be a nice experience. UP THE SAINTS!!!!!!!
revolution saint Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Decided to drive today, haven't seen saints sober for years, it will be a nice experience. UP THE SAINTS!!!!!!! It's not pleasant. Anyway, I'll be going. I missed the 1st game of the season last year for the first time in about 17 years last season so clearly saints need me. I'm looking forward to not recognising a lot of our players.
happiness stan Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 If we beat Brum, I will be excited about this team That's how I feel at the moment too. A win against the favourites would be some kickstart. Hope Sophie and the rest of the family have a good day Andrew40.
SaintRobbie Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Right .... bugger this protest against Lowe, I'm going. I can't resist it. And, the team need all the support they can get if we're going to give Fulthorpe - and most importantly Shearer - the chance to surivive in this league once they are able to take over. COYR!

madruss Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Apparantly the average age of Arsenal's team today is 23 The average age of Saints anticipated starting line-up is also 23. Coincidence? Good omen? Or maybe it's just nice to have something in common with Arsenal!! COYR
trousers Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 The average age of people working in B&Q this afternoon is 23. Coincidence ?
Mr X Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 I think I would settle for a draw, Brum look stronger in every department. bugger settling for a draw, a draw would be an amazing result can't see us getting anything other than a thrashing
hypochondriac Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 The average age of people working in B&Q this afternoon is 23. Coincidence ? I would say most definitely.
Minty Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Saints line-up: Davis, James, Svensson, Perry, Surman, Schneiderlin, Gillett, McGoldrick, Lallana, Holmes, John. Subs: Lancashire, Thomson, Mills, Wotton, Bialkowski.

saint boggy Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Sad to be missing the first home game......... ditto to that!!
Minty Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 THAT is a very strong team It is indeed, and not devoid of skill either... on paper, a very balanced and capable side that I would expect to be at or near the top, if they can gel (sorry, shouldn't use that word after last season!) Frankly, I'll be happy with a point today.
Minty Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Bright start... John goal disallowed for offside from a good cross from Schneiderlin.
Minty Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Another good cross, just over John's head. Good passing and movement so far it seems, and closing down the opposition well according to Solent. Sorry, no links... i'm listening to it on the radio.
Minty Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 More good approach play, low cross from Lloyd James, nearly picks out Lee Holmes, cleared for a corner.
Mr X Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 sounds good so far... It always does we play well and still lose
Minty Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Certainly does, Merrington saying it's all good so far.
Minty Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 It always does we play well and still lose That's the spirit.
Mr X Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 That's the spirit. Sorry I should be more positive but you know i'm right

LukeH Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Nothing like watching live football and hoping little dots come up on a screen showing how many shots we've had. Sigh.
silversaint Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 anything happening of any note? Tony Cottee on SSN just said we had dominated about 5 minutes earlier on?
LukeH Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Well by the looks of espn it seems like we're dominating. Anyone know of any better sites to keep the updates fairly regularly?
Minty Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 We started well and dominated with some good play for the first 20 mins, but Brum come back into it with a couple of breaks since... one let off, but Saints just back up the other end, but overhit cross from James.
MulletMan Posted 16 August, 2008 Posted 16 August, 2008 Well by the looks of espn it seems like we're dominating. Anyone know of any better sites to keep the updates fairly regularly? Don´t know if it´s better but try bbc.
