niceandfriendly Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Good start overall with some exceptions. Hoedt and Stephens playing very well Cedric can't cross Carillo has won nothing in the air Redmond isn't up for the battle Tadic with his back to goal is a guaranteed loss of possession Ref giving them a free kick anytime they fall over Lemina very tidy, Hojberg not far behind
CWD Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Some comedic defending from our CBs again there. We look comfortable (if not inspiring) in every area of the pitch apart from the middle of defence.
OttawaSaint Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Bit of a mess back there from Hoedt and Stephens. Got away with it.
5string Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Today's issue seems to be Redmond is our main attacking 'force', utilising his 'pace'. So we're now backing off a bit because we're losing confidence in our ability to make meaningful attacks. We should be pushing, pushing all the time. Ok, break away... nope. Stopped.
Pamplemousse Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 agree. absolutely nothing of a threat from. open play. Luckily West Brom are crap. I can’t see us beating a hard working Burnley team when we are this lethargic though.
Ohio Saint Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 This is nice. We are both decent championship sides.

Good shout with your summary.
Saint_clark Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Another good ball into the box from Cedric (dunno what you lot are watching!) But not a single player was busting a gut to get in there. Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk
Saint Albert Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Redmond did quite well there on that break.
5string Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Good break from Redmond - intelligent pass to Tadic, who was a bit slow. Macauley tried to bring Redmond down earlier, would've been a red card if he'd gone down.
OttawaSaint Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Great from Reds. Tadic needs to be braver.
del boy Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 you know its just a matter of time before WBA get a corner and score
niceandfriendly Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Tadic is infuriating. If he wasn't such a pansy, we'd have a second goal after Redmond's good work
Lighthouse Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Shoot Redmond ffs He’s not great but capital punishment seems a bit harsh.
Saint Albert Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 McLean gets a yellow for a late foul on Carrillo.
Donatello Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 This is basically our set pieces versus their set pieces....pretty uninspiring in final third (as always).

OttawaSaint Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Tadic is infuriating. If he wasn't such a pansy, we'd have a second goal after Redmond's good work Agreed. He didn’t believe he could score. Had he just been a bit braver it was an easy chance.
5string Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 WBA seem terrified whenever Redmond gets the ball. Can't understand why, but we should make the most of it - give him the ball & get support up there.
Saint_clark Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Where's the foul there? Rondon just collapsed in on himself Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk
Saint Albert Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Well, W. Brom’s plan seems pretty clear. Lots of high balls into the penalty area to exploit our weaknesses in the air.
Dr. Kucho Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Wasnt that tunc Appleton who is providing all the biased comments on the BBC once a Pompey manager ? Yes, and currently assistant manager at Leicester. Probably the most biased commentary I have ever seen. If you have a moment during HT, have a look at the bbc live commentary feed and read what Appleton has to say.
Pamplemousse Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 How did West Brom manage to win at Anfield?????
Saint_clark Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Another ****ing dive by rondon where he just collapses on himself. Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk
hypochondriac Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Hopefully get a confidence boosting win today. Still most likely to see the fixture again next season...
Saint Albert Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Carrillo could be in trouble for a challenge on Hegazi after he catches him with the elbow. He gets a yellow. Half time 0-1. W. Brom are crap.
Batman Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 HT average display. absolutely nothing of a threat from open play lots of ball rotation. We are growing though lol
Supersubpuckett Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 we look alright - as ever it's the final ball that's letting us down. pinging it around much better than usual. having said that, the baggies are very poor.
Manuel Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Carrillo looking despondent, need to get him more involved.
skintsaint Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 0-1 at half time, expecting at least 2-1 at full time. Mr Motivator at half time. Clean sheet would be welcome Saints!
St Marco Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 First 20-25 mins I thought we were pretty decent but seem to drop back quite a bit after that. We really need to get a 2nd goal as can see them getting something from one of their long balls into the box. Especially as the ref seems to be giving free kicks for **** all.
saintsmike25 Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Decent display, a bit disappointing we're not going in for the kill.. A couple of issues Redmond has no left foot and keeps cutting back to side foot a predictable cross into Mcauley/Heghazi - him and Tadic need to swap wings, i'd rather JWP central, he isn't crossing from wide positions. Haul off Carillo, can see him getting a red, nasty needless elbow at the end of the half. Hoedt is playing well, Holjberg/Lemina dominating the MF, Cedric and Bertrand also doing well, Stephens looks very composed. WBA playing badly, we're not playing as well as the 3-2 - seem to be lacking confidence in the final third.
BotleySaint Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Carrillo looking despondent, need to get him more involved.Game has passed him by so far. Not playing to his strengths.
Donatello Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 I wish we would give some of the younger guys a go in these games....Sims and Hesketh in particular. No need for extensive changes, but one or two of our academy players would be beneficial long-term.

obelisk Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Scrappy. So frustrating that Saints aren't better in the final third. So often we get into good positions but the ball ends up going backwards. Far too many cheap free kicks given away that offer WBA a chance to lump the ball into the box where they're stronger than us. Still, mustn't grumble too much.
shurlock Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Comfortable enough but ultimately pretty clueless in the final third.
Saint_clark Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Tadic and Redmond should be on the opposite wings, the left is where Tadic looks at his best and the right is the only place Redmond hasn't looked awful. Especially should be that way round given that we have Carillo in the middle. Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk

philelec Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Great from Reds. Tadic needs to be braver. I would like to see Gabi on for Tadic to see how he could work with Redmond, doubt if it will happen though; perhaps the last 5 minutes!
5string Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 I think the idea of left-footers playing on the right, & vice versa, is so they have better shooting chances if they cut in. Townsend & Coutinho proof it can work. Doesn't seem to work for us - neither Redmond nor Tadic shoot often enough & they're not good enough from distance (20+ yards). Swap 'em back.
Saint_clark Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Wait wait wait...there was a little C next to Redmonds name there...as much as I'd like to think that stands for C you next Tuesday, is he REALLY our captain today? Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk

Donatello Posted 17 February, 2018 Posted 17 February, 2018 Hoedt is so f*cking clumsy when it comes to a bouncing ball.
