The new guy reminds me all be it on the pitch 10 mins or less of a young unfit stocky plodder of a footballer just what we need.Another over hyped overpaid waste of money.Wheres Gabbi?.........or indeed the young lad that missed the sitter to finish of spuds the other night?.Surley this would have been the ideal oppertunity to blood him for most of the game resting another key squad member for the game more important to the survival of this team rather than a now meaningless cup competition, lets face it we aint going to win it so why not rotate with players that are on the fringe?.........Sims?.........but no we play focking Long upfront and hes no end product player we know what hes capable of (****) so yes experiment for a change see how things pan out and its a free afternoon. And you know what if it wasnt £12 a ticket i wouldnt have bothered.

Shame no Sims. I know MP is just deserpate to save his job so it's not easy, but I thought the club were focused on playing decent football and promoting youngsters.

It seems odd we didn't give Gallagher a chance, now have to spend £20m on a striker. I mean, perhaps he wouldn't have done it, but he was in form and could have hit the ground running. A couple of goals early season and you have a different player on your hands, confidence is huge.

Likewise Sims and Hesketh. They have talent and need a chance to prove it at some stage.

Why not try going through a day accepting that decisions have been made and that posting, again and again, about the same points on a footy forum will achieve the square root of f:ck all. Just a thought.

I haven't a clue how Carillo will turn out. May be it will depend who we play with him. As for Long, he was the only player to get on the end of Bertrand's free kick at full stretch and force the rebound off the keeper that Stephens knocked in. Good job he did. Two goals away at Watford scored because he outpaced the defence and got crosses in that were easily controlled. Yesterday he worked his socks off and was still strong at the end. Gabbiadini can't play on his own up front and Sims was a peripheral figure for the U23s in a big defeat at Staplewood. I've got a feeling that Carillo will turn out not able to play on his own either.

I wasnt on the booze as some may suggest on here ,just mearly making my observation of the whole situation regarding our plight in the league.

All our transfere fees are now going onto be new club record signings and you know what our league position is declining so why not give the fringe squad players a run out?,it was just a suggestion thats all my opinion as this is what this Saints forum is set up to allow....right?

Like everyone on here i only wish it will work out well for us,but at this moment in time do you really see any signs of us improving significantly? enough to allow us to prosper under this manager or indeed the boards instructions?

You based your opinion on a whole 10 minutes playing deeper than his position. He reminds me of Beattie and hope scores as many as him for us.

So why not put the youngster who missed a sitter against spuds the other night?.............dropping him isnt going to make too much of a difference is it?

Well theres a vote of confidence from the manager right there. You never know maybe his raw energy and drive may have galvanized the team to better things or am i missing something else here?

W ere not going to win the bloody thing are we?..............yes we can dream but this is not the new target for the season now is it .Would be nice but no, so lets spend big drop the teenager and play our record signing for the last 10 really!

Austin has started 6 games this season and has 6 goals, Carillo must have started around that now and got none. In no way are they the same.
